- The restoration and re-installation of the CFRD Sterling M-10 16/16 siren is complete. The restoration by A.C. Electric in Bangor, Maine has exceeded all expectations thus far. The siren is now back in service and ready to go for another 50+ years. And don't she sound SWEET!
I lived right down the block from one of those growing up, Sterling M-10
that distinctive high pitched Sterling sound .. perfection, nothing else sounds like it.
this is how 16/16 sterlings should sound compared to like every other one i've seen
Fond memories of that siren going off in the middle of the night. Especially the night the lighthouse caught fire
Awesome siren. I need to head up there and get a video of it!
Looks and sounds great!
Awesome! They did a great restoration !
yes she sound sweet 16/16 port
That’s very high pitched. I can’t imagine how loud it must be for everyone living near this siren.
Awesome! I guess I forgot you guys had a Sterling over there , we had one in Blue Hill ,its at the historical society now wish we could put ours back up on the roof and let her fly I was in high school when we took it down and the controller got thrown away that was the most fascinating part of it .I worked both with Browns comm. and the Phone company on the old red phone network it was quite a system back in the day.
It screams!
It's too high-pitched in my opinion, but looks wonderful
It sounds beautiful! Brinkley, AR has a Sterling siren like this one that needs restoration, but I doubt they’d do that anytime soon.
We have one here in Berkeley Springs, WV too. I don't know what condition it's in but it goes off every day.
👍🇺🇸
WOW, very loud!!!
sounds like a sentry 16 port 5v
Pitch is ever so slightly too high
It kinda sounds like a q
Too high piched
agree
The pitch should be taken down just a slight bit
Actually no, this is the correct pitch that it's supposed to be at. Also, you can't really just 'take the pitch down a bit'
