A bit of a criticism: most of those stars had their careers peak long before the 1970s; most of their hey-days were in the 1940s to 1960s with a few back in the 19-teens, 20s and 30s. The younger guys hit their peaks in the 80s and 1990s.

The last movie elvis played was in 1961 but he did record songs in the 1970s so I would probably say it counts.

The age at time of death doesn’t always match up with date of birth. Also, the cause of death is frequently incorrect.

A lot of these actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood were famous long before the 1970s like Cary Grant, John Wayne, James Stewart, and Henry Fonda all had started acting in 1930s and made big hits by late 1930 into 1940s by 1970s some these notable were starting have their wane due to age. Jack Lemmon was popular in 1950s and 1960s when starred with his most famous co star Walter Matthau 9 times and continued popularity into 1990s when died Grumpy Old Men. Sean Connery’s career was at peak in 1960s when debuted as James Bond in 1962 with Dr No and 4 other Bond films. His career waned some in 1970s but had a comeback in 1980s and into 1990s. Many of these actors were well known before 1970s.

Comedian but probably the most well known silent film star when his career at its peak in 1920s with some of biggest hits then like The Kid in 1921 but had hits in 1930s into 1940s before his career waned off although kept acting into 1960s when made his last film in 1967.

Charlie Chaplin was great of course but not the greatest he was very talented but so overrated... British drama/comedy school gave so many other great actors among others the greatest and most complete actor in both comedy and drama movies was the ingenious Peter Sellers his acting was ingenious and his ability to change from various accents and personalities for example in Doctor Strangelove was beyond any hint of criticism and till this day none come close if you only listen to Robbie Williams interview on Peter Sellers unparallel talent you see for your self AND HIS NAME IS MISSING FROM THAT VIDEO!!!
