Tretinoin and I have been besties for 7 months now and I love her so much. I was initially on Accutane for 6 months which healed my face completely and my dermatologist prescribed me 0.05% tretinoin for preventative measures. We’ve been in love ever since. I look like a whole new person, glass-like, smooth, silky skin! I wear my tretinoin at night. I’m in my 30s but tretinoin seems to be making me younger and younger everyday❤
Cleanse, tretinoin(leave for 20 minutes) then I apply my moisturiser and seal it with organic rosehip oil. I keep it as basic as possible cos of how potent Tretinoin is. Works for me ❤
7 days a week for the rest of my life. Tretinoin forever ❤😊

However, even though I am turning 25 soon I still deal with cystic acne. I am currently having the AviClear laser treatment that is meant to target the sebaceous glands. I am going for my second treatment soon, but I noticed that my skin after the first treatment isn't any less oily than it was before. I appreciate how packed this is and all important so this not not a points off deal. I’d like to know of the validity of the expiration date. It’s expensive of course and it seems to take me nearly a year to get though one tube. Obviously I don’t use it nightly. I do wash it off because I double cleanse morning and night and I’m assuming the tretinoins effect is used up by morning 8 or more hours after application. There are 3 strengths. I used lowest for a year so I suffered no peeling of uncomfortable irritation. Then I moved to the second strength and that’s been 2 yrs now with no real discomfort. I’m wondering, am I suppose to increase the strength again or if I stay at the mid level will it still further my skins improvement. I use it on my neck, décolleté, and hands sometimes. I would never wear it in daytime because I use other skincare and cosmetics - besides the important degradation.

Oh, thanks so much for discussing this topic! This has bugged me for quite a while, I just could not figure out what was the best time to fit tretinoin on my routine!
I like to do my nighttime skincare right after work when I still have some energy. However, this is around 6 pm and on summer there is still light outside coming through the windows. I thought about applying later on the evening, like after I brush my teeth, but, after that I like to read a book, under a bedside lamp that is very close to me. So, to be sure there is no effect at all, I thought about applying the tretinoin jus before I go to sleep, but, I am a side sleeper, so I was afraid the tretinoin would just "rub off". So basically, for optimum result, I would have to apply it just before going to bed, but wait about 10-15 min in the dark and laying on my back, doing nothing, before actually going to sleep, so the tretinoin would be absorbed before I put my face on the pillow and stuff. Which is very unpractical LoL
From what you said though, I guess it would be okay to apply in the evening, as long as I do not stay too close to a window, or at night, even though I stay close to a lamp, since the effect should be little. Is this correct?
p.s. Sorry for the long post, I got excited about the topic 😁

Happy Tuesday, Doc! I have always applied my tretinoin in the evenings, but not immediately before bed. I like to apply it around 7pm and then apply my nighttime moisturizer right before bed about 3 hours later. Are there any issues with that application? Granted, it's only dark outside at 7pm in the winter here. Should I apply my tretinoin application a little later?
