The so-called "blinded by nostalgia" argument that some people make when others were saying how certain reboots of games or series are inferior compared to the original.
@@henrythepotatohead I mean quite specifically the visuals. Like I had an entirely different sense for visuals back then. I've noticed it with even older games where it doesn't look anything like I remembered because it was too early in my life. Its almost dreamlike, as if I had I imagined most of it.
It's ok, the instructions weren't very clear either. They said to hold down the spacebar to trap ghost pirates but did not mention that you need the shovel from the Docks for that. Guess they expect the players to explore first and figure it out themselves.
@@henrythepotatohead Btw, many thanks for this upload! This really brings back nice memories, it's funny how little sound effects, graphics, screens, etc. can be ingrained in us so strongly and bring back so many feelings of situations in our childhood :)
One thing I always did when I played this game is dig a whole bunch of holes everywhere I went, that way I'd have a better chance at trapping pirates and having a sense of where I've been in the caves, along with picking up whatever's buried.
Since Flash is not working anymore, I thought I'll never see this game again. I came to RUclips because I liked the soundtrack and found it! xD Thank you! So many good memories about old Cartoon Network games. :)
"CHER-HESEN-BERG!" That's the sound effect when the pirates get trapped in the holes, and it's the funniest sound effect I've ever heard from a Scooby-Doo game!
When we were kids, whenever my cousin visited, I would make her play this game because I was too scared. She would finish this game each time without losing a life.
This game absolutely frightened me as a kid cuz the pirates would chase you and I was 5, couldn't read, and never used the shovel. I just liked going to the beach and finding stuff with the metal detector.
In point of fact, because I wanted to get to know on which website you approached the game. I used to play this game quite a bit when I was something like 11-13. And I haven’t been able to play this game whenever I’ve tried to approach it nowadays.
@@haffihellfire2246 if you read the video description, you will see i played it using a program called flashpoint, since most of these games cannot be played in the usual browsers anymore.
Its weird how these old games always looked better in my memory than they actually were

@@crazitaco yup, memories can be very strange sometimes.
To be fair, while it is absolutely dated and rough, it still functions and you can see where the effort and creativity went.
@@kyleguajardo absolutely. For a flash game of that time, the quality was quite good
Who else didn’t really know what they were doing or where they were supposed to go half the time?

Man i remember playing this when i was a little kid. Now i'm 23. This game sure brings some good nostalgic feelings :D
Facts bro im 21 now. This is taking me back.

Dude, I’ve been thinking about this game but I keep forgetting to look it up lol
I could never beat this asa kid
Yeah, me either!
I didn't even understand what was going on and thought the game was just broken lol
same here
these games are still better than the stupid app games of today.
In this game, I was captued by the Pirate Ghosts, because I failed, and I didn't get the Shovel to stop them.
I've been looking for this game for years, I could never remember the name.
It's wild seeing these old games again and instantly getting hit by the nostalgia of the music
Thank you for uploading this, I played it all the time as a kid and didn’t think I’d ever see it again.
Song is lit tho
I couldn't remember the name of this game for the life of me, but I remember being stuck for hours playing it on a library computer
I remember i loved this because it was the only one where Daphne was a playable character.
Since Flash is not working anymore, I thought I'll never see this game again. I came to RUclips because I liked the soundtrack and found it! xD Thank you! So many good memories about old Cartoon Network games. :)
You could still play it (video description) if you want...
I loved the music of beach level when I was a kid
Yooo i forgot about this one. The music brings back so many memories.

Mark Tanner: And it would've been mine if it hadn't been for you meddling kids and your dog!
"CHER-HESEN-BERG!" That's the sound effect when the pirates get trapped in the holes, and it's the funniest sound effect I've ever heard from a Scooby-Doo game!
They're saying "Shiver me timbers!"
Thank you for uploading this I have been trying to find it forever!!

oh my god i've been looking for this game for years and i was starting to think i'd made it up THANK YOU
I remember the music scaring me as a kid, now it's kinda catchy
Played this during a time where I didn't read any of the dialogue and yet still somehow managed to beat it once lol
It's my favorite Scooby-Doo game and I spent years looking for it but sense it's on video it's exactly as I remembered
I like to be a mystery solver like them.
I like that beach song...very nice beat
This game absolutely frightened me as a kid cuz the pirates would chase you and I was 5, couldn't read, and never used the shovel. I just liked going to the beach and finding stuff with the metal detector.
Thanks for this, was looking for walk-through, never managed to win this game
Omg I’ve been trying to remember and find this game for YEARS!! 😭
Mark Tanner's siblings might... testify against their brother in the aftermath.
I never could figure out what to do to beat this game. I always got scared off by the pirates
I never could beat this game. Nice to see how it ends. Velma was very neat as the main character in this one :D
I strongly remember the “ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-BUNG-BUNG-BUNG-BUNG” sound from my youth.
I got as far as the dark cave when I was a kid, but ran out of batteries and lost :(
How where kids supposed to beat this feel like I’d have trouble now
What was this game even on I don’t remember what I played it on so many years ago
I`m trying to play it on Flashpoint but it appears that it`s not a director`s file. What should I do?
This game was so confusing the first time.
I remember intentionally killing the rest of the gang as a kid because I only wanted to play as Scooby
FINALLY IVE FOUND IT
I never played this game because it was blocked or we didn't have the download software
Oh my god!
Can you do it with a game over screen?
1:54 XD!
Is there a part in this where you drive the mystery machine on a beach on a sunny day from the top down birds eye view?
No, but that sounds a bit like the game "The Haunted World of Scooby-Doo".
i want to play it
