I didn't cover it as much as I wanted in the video but the best lvl 5''s to go for are:
Gr 1:
Necromancers
Rocks
Abyssals
Bombs
Gr 2:
Fliers
Templars
Pharoahs
Shadowcasters
Gr 3:
Axes (most important)
Dogs
You of course want most legendary soldiers as well, and stuff like healers but I find the ones listed are the ones I have at some point wanted to go for.

Thank you for this guide. I have no idea what I am doing in GVG, when it comes to attacking with my demon soldiers, so this will definitely help. Needless to say, I am stuck on the Odyssey Quest where you have to launch 5 successful attacks in GVG, so I hope that this will help me get past it.
really depends on BP as well, sometimes you just gotta farm to get 10 from GR to level up. My big tanks are so durable in most cases i just need to swarm the front hero or archer to pick off.
Scourge: They can be good too in more regular bases if they have only a single target healer. That will force the heal to split, making their team less tanky overall.
Frosty: They're more niche, and need lv5. You can use them on a maw team to push him behind the tank during the freeze, and hit his AOE on more units. They're also strong if you pair it with an eon follower on a swarming team.
New Mdmg guy: I find him very strong against an ingrid or magic heavy. Ingrid deals no damage if they're on the field with 2x healers.
Eon: Not that much team right now, but works very well against heavy single target to swarm the tank if they have what required to push back units
Great content! I had no idea stitched carrion was so outclassed by other tanks. I recently started using pharaoh guard when I recognize a def was over invested in magic damage, but the carrion was my all arounder second cheap tank. I’ll start trying to combine fallen templar w/ KoD instead when I see a team that lacks magic damage!

Advice on breaking through the meta defenses would be appreciated. My guild is in plat 3 and there are times I’m only able to win 3-4 battles because I simply can’t break through. Would love some insight from a top tier guild on how to deal with these things.

Most the time it’s just more BP i have an A5 Uredin with 127k BP and helps to brute force if they have low awakenings and gear but meta teams like pope and Ingrid and almost unbeatable without super high lord BP

Mostly agree some demons should be moving down and up imo. But of course it counts where is the guild and what def are you facing mostly.
Example Rock boys just broken but not meta imo, rare defenders are meta (gives a very high amount big hp soldiers to block the tank and make rush with dogs or 2x spd + spd booster) especially if the defender lacking of aoe dmg

I've found that garnet guards almost never target platform units, even accounting for their range and target invisibility.
what i don't get is the dumb demon tower levels. i'm like 20k above and meet the requirements to just get one star.
Great video, GVG is actually fun when you face better guilds. What would be nice if we got to personalize the guild, buy defense/offense upgrades based on collecting a currency or better quests for the guild based on GVG.

WoR is way better than Raid: Shadow legends
I actually don't use Axes, but I use something similar with Shadowcasters. The later are more upgraded on my account, cost 2 less, and do magic damage, which is great against tanks. They obliterate tanks, even Brokkirs. The only problem is their mid HP. They are vulnerable if going against a Baron or Regulus ult, so I have to send in some fodder first to tank the damage.
Spiders/Bombs probably should go into niche. Dogs though, I agree, are strong. Time them right, they will blow past defenses in between CC/Aoe ults.
Issue with Destroyers are their high cost. They melt against magic and are so slow, not being able to deploy them together without having to wait for 4 cost really hurts them in my opinion.
Need to get lvl 5 axes
With high lord BP or Uredin they can. Proc tanks passive or Lilly on their own

Get to overlord GVG and shadow casters are almost trash
Axes are so important at lvl 5 with high BP
Shadow casters are great before axe lvl 5, but once they hit lvl 5 they do double shadow caster dmg
