Carpenter for over 40 years. One of the first things I would do when a carpenter came on a job was to have him build sawhorses . Depending on how well and fast it took to build them, figured into what I was going to pay them. For those who did not know how to build them, I had a plan for them to build from. Now, the ones built without plans, I found a lot of bad horses. But I also changed my plans on a few of them.
That resin hack was genius 👌 Also how on earth do you get screws into the plywood edge on without it splitting? I’ve tried pre drilling and it still happens?
I’m not totally into CNC yet and have been following you in past 4-6 months now. I think you are doing an outstanding job and wanted to drop a comment to continue your journey and keep grinding at it brother! Keep sending the videos out !
I’ve built saw horses using PT plywood for bracing gussets. 15 year plywood sounds good. From your build it must be better than most sheet goods at holding screws in the edge. Sheet goods usually suck at this! I see it done a lot and it raises questions. Without glue failure seems likely!
The file is a little bit different than what you saw in the video instead of just a butt joint for the angled pieces. It’s now a large box joint to give more traction with glue. Www.Aglimpseinside.Org It’s the first item on the homepage and you can see an exploded 3-D rendering of what I’m talking about if you click into the pictures of the file
Awesome video, Chris! The plywood sounds amazing! To think that you don't need your sawhorses taking up space in your shop when you're not using them is cool. Who doesn't need more room? I pray 🙏 you and your family had a blessed Thanksgiving. Please tell your wife and kids I said hi and be careful out there in all you do. I hope to chat with you again soon. Thanks again! 😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤
I don't have a CNC, and until I reorganize my tools I don't have a place for one... but if you sold the parts as an assembly kit I'd be happy to support your causes and buy two!
Great question. I made this entire system out of 75% of one sheet of flowers. And that’s being very generous with my spacing. You can definitely get four complete sawhorses out of one sheet of plywood no problem, possibly five. Of course, the table top, you could change to any length you would like
If you doubled up three layers for a dog hole, then yes, but I don’t recommend plywood for any type of dog holes as hardwoods like maple have proven to be the best option. And I will consider a flat pack option for sure. Just curious to know if people will actually pay what it would legitimately cost. Shouldn’t be too bad, but it’s something to definitely consider. Thanks again, buddy.
Nice but a pass over the table saw with a tilted blade gets you flush feet and a flush fitting top. Then just screw on some rectangular pieces of Delrin or UHMW plastic as feet.
I loved your video. This is pretty awesome. I don’t have a CNC machine. It is probably on next year’s Christmas list. But I would love this if you offer it as a kit, please include me.
It’s going to vary, depending on where you are in the country and the lumber store can control the retail price. Not sure where you are in the country, however in Northeast Florida, the price of Arnica products is along the same range as you would find Baltic birch. It’s really quality stuff and way better than anything you would find from Asia or South America.
I like to know who I am buy products from. After only a five minutes venture down the Google rabbithole I found that this particular company is owned by the Carlyle Group whose major shareholders include Black Rock, and Vanguard. The same folks solely responsible for artificially driving up the housing market here in the US. Yeah. No thanks. But, good luck, anyway.
Carlye Group is also connected to daddy Bush and his middle east warmongering, but they have diversified with all their blood money.. apparently taking a controlling interest into this Spanish company. This is a good product, though, regardless of their affiliations.

I’m old enough to remember when plywood was flat and waterproof.
Yes💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🙏🏼
Indeed!!
Thanks for the glimpse inside once again...enjoy seeing your family grow! Been watching from the beginning and always puts a smile on my face!
Thank you so much, Richard. I really appreciate this.
Simply Awesome! Love the design and the Epoxy leg pads are genius!! Thank you!!

Yes, those psychopaths filming without dust collection are indeed crazy! 😬🤪😉

@AGlimpseInside Thanks so much! 😊
Everything is good, just a lot of things to do all the time... But that's life, I guess!

@@ehudgavron9086 that’s awesome news thank you so much for the info. I appreciate it.
Does the whole project fit on one sheet of plywood. 1-1 or can you fit multiple on a sheet of plywood?

Thank you for watching!
Hey 2 questions..
1 is the new plywood suitable for dogholes..
And would you make a cnc top file or a shipped version
Thanks

Nicely done as always brother! My simple suggestion - 3d print those feet!
Where does a diy get access to a cnc machine?
Great video, but your daughter watching "BLUEY" that can't be beat, Cheers from Aus.

That is cool. I didn't know Jimmy had a CNC lol
Zimmerman is German for carpenter my father always had us kids in the shop ❤ what you did with your kids project not bad either lol 😂
Is there a reason not to use fingers in the outside corners of the cnc file?
Not 100% sure what you mean by not to use fingers in the outside corners. I’m sure I can explain better. I just need more info please
I see that you have updated cut file from the build to interlock the corners of the saw houses.
@jasulliv3 yes I see what you’re saying most definitely that was a much needed improvement to make assembly easier
What is the price of this plywood? I can't find a price anywhere.

I seen it used as a bird box and the weather not effected it. Must of been up five years plus
@@andrewdennis8404 thanks for the testimony on this one that’s pretty dang cool
Clearances, not tolerances. Big difference
@@frijoli9579 yeah I can clear tolerances, but I can’t tolerate clearance
@@AGlimpseInside if you can't tolerate clearance then you need to tighten your tolerances.
@ totally clear I have to tolerate the tightening
2 types of glue, brads and screws.
Gotta love the amateur community 😅
Sell a flat pack.
I’ll have to get with Jimbo first. I’m sure he won’t mind though.
