With the new DLC was going to try this out with a few tweaks. It’s basically the same, but swapping out standard paladin for Tortured Crusader to reduce MAD and get more feats. I’d also splash in one level of Sable Marine before Mythic 1 for the Hippogryph mount. Also probably do level 1 as a paladin, to get Radiance upgraded early. Thoughts?
I’d prefer The Left Hand of Iomedae. 20 Sanctified Slayer/16 Deliverer/4 Thug. Doesn’t have the spell casting prowess but lots of sneak attack plus greater bane, and divine anathema for damage. As a strength based sword-and-board dual wielder, a thug dip, and stern gaze with lots of cornugan smash intimidates should get the enemies running. Stalwart, evasion, and uncanny dodge provide good survivability.
The good thing is by virtue of being as Cleric you can merge with Angel which makes for certainly the easiest experience starting as soon as Chapter 3!
With the new paladin class "tortured crusader" which fits even better history wise, you can dump CHA and fill up WIS, gonna start the most canonical legend class ever: crusader-tortured crusader. Cannot get more canon than that!
My man, love your videos. Everything i know about this game i know it thanks to you. On other note, i have encounter what it seems to be a bug. I tried the Child of Manticore build on Wenduag, and when i used the Midnight Bolt it just didnt waste. What i mean is that wenduag procs the midnight bolt on every hit she does without consuming it. Could you try this sometime if its not asking to much, i would love to know if its just a random bug or if its consistent for everyone. Anyway, love the videos, keep up the good work.
Hey cRPG Bro sir, I would really appreciate if you could do a "Shapechange" Guide for newer players. I've almost finished Hard difficulty and this is one of the more daunting and confusing aspects of the game to me, especially when it comes to Druids, casting spells, BFTs and what spells are even worth using considering Feats (like Weapon Focus and Improved Critical etc). TY!
Is there a repository for written versions of your builds? I have around six or seven youtube vids bookmarked, but would love to just print some written guides out like I've done for all the other games I've played.
Playing through the first time in this and your videos have been great. What would a tank version without a pet of this look like? Could you drop a few things to focus on shields and heavy armor? Also why are you not using a shield with the longsword? EDIT: I get it now, using power attack and such to use it as a 2 handed weapon, didn't know it did that automatically and such.
Damn, that's one holy warrior! I gotta say though that even if they haven't touched it to date even though the game has been out for some time, Legends getting to keep all the merged spells from their previous mythic path that they reject seems like it shouldn't be allowed lol. The fact that you lose them if you respec after switching to Legend indicates to me that you're not supposed to keep the spells in the first place, but something is bugged. Plus storywise it doesn't really fit either that you keep them. Not a knock on the build at all, it's just a bit of a pet peeve for me that the game works this way. 😄 Legend is insanely powerful even without also getting to access the strongest parts of a completely different mythic path with no drawbacks at all in addition to 20 full character levels more than usual.
When is the legend monk imitator build coming? I would actually be interested to see if the monk stance bonus attacks stack with flurry of blows and am too lazy to test it myself.
Your content is amazing as always! Can I ask you a favor? Can you do a Bard guide that doesn't go Azata, please? There are only one or two in RUclips and both go Azata. Any Bard build that doesn't go Azata is fine. I'm currently playing a Dirge Bard focused on fear spells, but I'll probably end up going Gold Dragon because of goodness, instead of Lich, which sounds obvious. Thanks!

With the crusader bonus feat at lv 1 and 5, wouldn't it be better to go heavy armor instead of taking martial weapon? Since it would be redundant to take both martial weapon and longsword focus no? Or am I missing something? Please advise
Sorry, but was curious, if I wanted to stay as Angel rather than switch to Mythic Legend, should I follow the recommendations from your older Cleric Angel build guide?
If you start oracle instead, you can get a second mystery at mythic 3+, and you will keep any revelations and spells once you lose the mythic power. For example my oracle legend is battle mystery with nature as mythic 3 second mystery. Even after the legend change I still have a full pet, creeping doom, friend to animals, etc. As a fun extra, this character has extended and greater extended spells; reaching level 25 spellcasting by going 15 oracle into 5 loremaster, finishing oracle at 21-25. 24hr buffs, angel spells, pounce, pet, etc. (Last 15 levels are 2 scaled fist and 13 paladin for the curious).
I'm considering going 20 oracle 20 paladin but I need to run the numbers how well oracle revelations hold up to the benefits of greater weapon focus and specialization etc for crusader cleric. Especially since first mystery is gonna be taken up as nature
@Sky300Wii the weapon focuses end up at +2 to hit and the specializations together are +4 damage. Honestly taking one level in demonslayer makes up most of this small bonus if you're just looking at numbers, or you could go a few levels in fighter (even 9-12) to get it all and weapon training. Realistically the best advice is just to play what you like the most; the bonuses end up similar enough and the stuff you need extra for you need to cheese with shatter defenses, etc. either way
Bit of an odd question here: If you multiclass into 2 spontaneous caster classes (i.e. sorcerer and ley line guardian), how do you cast spells from the other spell book? I was trying out the winter witch build and when I classed into cross-blooded and pick burning hands for extra casts, I don't actually get more casts of BH. Even though my cross-blooded spell book still shows 4/4 spell slots and BH, I can only cast my ley line slots for that spell. Thanks!

Love it. Was thinking of something similar for a Last Alzanti run. I have a question. How come you never use the belt that lowers your crit range for any weapon? The one you get if you beat Inevitable Darkness on Unfair? You get it fairly early, after beating Playful Darkness in the portal.
I can't remember which video exactly, but I do remember this being mentioned at one point, saying it's never included in builds despite being best in slot (certainly was best in slot before the Shifter DLC introduced the belt used in this build) because of the requirements to getting it, and the intention was that all builds be usable on the first play through
Can I forgo legend and reduce cha to -9 increase in to 12, and keep angel with acolyte for Wisdom to Persuasion. I will still have all the major feats for melee... but wont have to rely for a first playthru for legend. as I havent played the game. not sure how game breaking for a first playthru would it be to have a lvl 40 character.
Hi there! Some Mythics Paths are called Early Paths because you pick them at the end of Chapter 2: Aeon, Angel, Azata, Trickster, Lich & Demon. Others can only be chosen at the start of Chapter 5, meaning you have to be one of the earlier paths first: Legend, Swarm, Devil & Gold Dragon.

Awesome build! Would it work fine without going legend and just remaining angel? I was also considering going oracle and dipping into paladin at early level before picking up radiance, so I can roll with the sword early!
I'm sure it would although cRPG Bro has done a pure Oracle Angel guide (below) as well which might prove an easier board to spring off of. I don't get it ... I respecced my char to this and I don't get the merged Angel spells. I've 20 Crusader and 20 Paladin and 3 Mythic at the end of respec - maximum lvl of spells: 9 - not a single Angel spell.
It is. Start Oracle 1 pick nature whispers mystery for charisma to ac. Lvl 2 monk scaled fist for charisma to ac. Lvl 3 vivisectionist. Rest into monk. Focus on str and charisma and dragon kicks. Voila
Yes, as pure Angel with Cleric or Oracle is extremely strong. Ideally the new Dual Cursed Oracle I cover here: ruclips.net/video/ABfzg3XaCKc/видео.html You can use Radiance, although Scimitars are better. For Radiance, simply get a Background that provides Longsword Profiency at Character Creation and trade the Scimitar/Axe feats in the build for Longsword.
I like your builds, but after some time they all feel the same. Same feats, same abilities, ALWAYS pet and so on. Maybe you can switch to lore/RP builds from time to time?
Do you think that, if given flawless belt of physical perfection +8 that increases crit range, there would be a better aroden relic option than the belt? Maybe amulet for constant 2d6 damage or a ring for +2 to every stat?
Well, Flawless +8 is so good that it's indeed the only case I'd consider it better than Aroden's Belt, or Lizard Tail for tanking characters/pets. Amulet would be the second best choice, but it competes with Vellexia's.
If you're a Cleric of Iomadae and she tells you to dispense with the mythic path you listen to her. If you're a Cleric of any other god feel free to, politely, tell her to pound sand.
So talking about legend. Is it just me or does Iomede seem like... well, a bitch? Like she comes to you, the guy who pretty much fixed everything (while Galfrey ruined the crusade - AGAIN) and dares to imply that you are an abomination even on angel path?? I sense so much passive aggressiveness in her it's not even funny. Like all Galorian is for you and she comes down and offers you the legend path because your status as the hero is already godlike among the people. Maybe they even praise you more than her? And look at the legend specific options. I am just a mortal, I am like you, fellow men and so on. Look, I am not saying Nocticula is better. But out of the two, the demon can be redeemed, while the "holy Iomede" seethes and rages like a little girl. Or maybe I'm talking out of my ass. I only finished the game with trickster so far, switching between Demonm Angel and Azata playthroughs right now. Yes, I am playing 3 campaigns at once. No, I could not pick one. Why? Because mood, depending on what I feel like atm I pick a different campaign. Angel for that feeling of rightousness (hehe), Demon for Doom and carnage and Azata to chill with my wife and daughter.
Much as I love this, Legend is simply too busted right now. They have to re-balance it somehow. You cant carry-over your mythic abilities. Its just insane, on top of another 20 lvls of BAB and class progression.
It can be done, ideally you would start with around 14-15 DEX and get the rest through +DEX gear when leveling up to meet up the DEX requirement of the Dual Wielding Feats.

You know I just had a Cleric of Iomedae. But I couldn't really bring myself to actually complete that playthrough. I'll give it another shot.

How come you never use the belt that lowers your crit range for any weapon? The one you get if you beat Inevitable Darkness on Unfair? You get it fairly early, after beating Playful Darkness in the portal.
I can't remember which video exactly, but I do remember this being mentioned at one point, saying it's never included in builds despite being best in slot (certainly was best in slot before the Shifter DLC introduced the belt used in this build) because of the requirements to getting it, and the intention was that all builds be usable on the first play through

Can I forgo legend and reduce cha to -9 increase in to 12, and keep angel with acolyte for Wisdom to Persuasion. I will still have all the major feats for melee... but wont have to rely for a first playthru for legend. as I havent played the game. not sure how game breaking for a first playthru would it be to have a lvl 40 character.

Hi there!
Some Mythics Paths are called Early Paths because you pick them at the end of Chapter 2: Aeon, Angel, Azata, Trickster, Lich & Demon.
Others can only be chosen at the start of Chapter 5, meaning you have to be one of the earlier paths first: Legend, Swarm, Devil & Gold Dragon.

Im running Cleric Crusader and I'm trying to loot everything I can but I have like- STR 19 | DEX 12 | CON 12 | INT 7 | WIS 16 | CHA 14 | at level 4 but you got a bit more than me and I don't know why. Same with Lore Religion and Persuasion.

I was also considering going oracle and dipping into paladin at early level before picking up radiance, so I can roll with the sword early!
I'm sure it would although cRPG Bro has done a pure Oracle Angel guide (below) as well which might prove an easier board to spring off of. Obviously dippling paladin is not needed to use radiance effectively any good mythic creature gets the holy properties and you would be slowing oracle spell progession

I don't get it ... I respecced my char to this and I don't get the merged Angel spells. I've 20 Crusader and 20 Paladin and 3 Mythic at the end of respec - maximum lvl of spells: 9 - not a single Angel spell.
Late response, but my understanding is you don't get to keep the angel spellbook if you respec.

Is a holy monk build viable? You have an evil lich monk, but can we have the good guy counterpart to it?
It is. Start Oracle 1 pick nature whispers mystery for charisma to ac. Lvl 2 monk scaled fist for charisma to ac. Lvl 3 vivisectionist. Rest into monk.
Focus on str and charisma and dragon kicks. Voila

Yes, as pure Angel with Cleric or Oracle is extremely strong.

You can use Radiance, although Scimitars are better. For Radiance, simply get a Background that provides Longsword Profiency at Character Creation and trade the Scimitar/Axe feats in the build for Longsword.

Honestly, it's perfectly alright because is without a doubt the strongest Mythic when merged with Cleric or Oracle!

If you have very good team build and playing on turn based, any full spellcasters is unfair variable. But first chapters will be hellish experience.

Nope, that will be lost once you become a Legend, but the spells will remain.
Do you think that, if given flawless belt of physical perfection +8 that increases crit range, there would be a better aroden relic option than the belt? Maybe amulet for constant 2d6 damage or a ring for +2 to every stat?
Well, Flawless +8 is so good that it's indeed the only case I'd consider it better than Aroden's Belt, or Lizard Tail for tanking characters/pets.
Amulet would be the second best choice, but it competes with Vellexia's.

If you're a Cleric of Iomadae and she tells you to dispense with the mythic path you listen to her. If you're a Cleric of any other god feel free to, politely, tell her to pound sand.
It's funny because Iomedae herself became a Goddess through other means!

Man im so sick of animal companions. They are op, annoying to play and seems out of place imo. We dont have even a single enemy riding them.

So talking about legend. Is it just me or does Iomede seem like... well, a bitch? Like she comes to you, the guy who pretty much fixed everything (while Galfrey ruined the crusade - AGAIN) and dares to imply that you are an abomination even on angel path?? I sense so much passive aggressiveness in her it's not even funny. Like all Galorian is for you and she comes down and offers you the legend path because your status as the hero is already godlike among the people. Maybe they even praise you more than her? And look at the legend specific options. I am just a mortal, I am like you, fellow men and so on. Look, I am not saying Nocticula is better. But out of the two, the demon can be redeemed, while the "holy Iomede" seethes and rages like a little girl.
Or maybe I'm talking out of my ass. I only finished the game with trickster so far, switching between Demonm Angel and Azata playthroughs right now. Yes, I am playing 3 campaigns at once. No, I could not pick one. Why? Because mood, depending on what I feel like atm I pick a different campaign. Angel for that feeling of rightousness (hehe), Demon for Doom and carnage and Azata to chill with my wife and daughter.
Much as I love this, Legend is simply too busted right now.
They have to re-balance it somehow. You cant carry-over your mythic abilities. Its just insane, on top of another 20 lvls of BAB and class progression.
It's indeed a massive power increase to Legend!
I know this is an old video but I had a random question. Is there a way to build this character but have them dual wield a sword in each hand?
It can be done, ideally you would start with around 14-15 DEX and get the rest through +DEX gear when leveling up to meet up the DEX requirement of the Dual Wielding Feats.
