Item weight rate is undoubtedly my favorite setting they've added. The amount of times I've had to slog myself back to my base while carrying ore or certain heavy resources was painful, but thanks to this setting, I no longer have to be subservient to the gods of contrived realism and can carry what I need freely without actually feeling like I have 54 metric tons weighing me down when I just want to mine ore
It's not player to player damage per say, it's how much damage a player takes lowering it to 0.1 makes you very hard to kill, I love how they let you basically choose your own balancing need alot more options to truly be perfect but pretty cool.
Not only that, you can also change it every time you load. So in effect, you can be your own DM like in CRPG. My co-op save recently did a night mode session.
I recommend 5 minute auto saves for two reasons. First, save file corruption issues. A longer auto save may give you a better chance as restoring from a good backup file. Next, there are certain permanent (until patched) glitches you might want to avoid. For example, if selecting a new structure leaves you with flashing “new build” like the current Japanese set, a longer auto save interval gives you more time to catch the issue and go back to a good backup.
I play the game on mute because the music and sounds get repetitive. Lol What I've been doing is playing a podcast or music via my phone so I'm not playing in silence. The only game I've been able to play for long periods with the soundtrack is Breath of the Wild/TotK. Being able to hear the scary piano music is crucial to staying alive. XD
New Pal Tamer here on PS5🤙 I haven't changed too many settings really. I'm level 38 so far.. I might end up changing a few settings more on down the road. But love the game and the dev team! Excited for the future of Pocketpair. 🍻
I reduced weight to 0 and tinkered my stamina to not run out around 500 drank the reset potion and just went crazy on my character attack stats and its fun
For the longest time the only setting I messed with was not losing my inventory when dying. Just recently I tweaked supply/meteor drops to once an hour and lessened weight a little bit cuz I'm tired. Lol Everyone can play how they want but I didn't want to feel like I was cheating. If I'm ever able to cross play with my siblings I'll take into consideration the changes they want to make it more fun since it's not like we'll be able to play all the time. Thanks for the breakdown
the max pals per base.. i actually cranked it up to 40.. but i think even in my "main base" i keep only around 25 pals active, when i'm going to do a lot of smelting i will add in 3 or 4 of the pals with 4 kindling skill, then usually put them away next time i'm at the base. the only downside to this i see, a couple steps of the base upgrade tasks are based on how many pals are assigned to a base, so with it set at 40 i had at one point something like "have 30 pals assigned to the base" and build whatever.. so i built whatever it was, then quickly assigned that many pals, upgraded the base and removed the pals i didn't need working.. of course if the max pals was set to 20 or lower it wouldn't have said "assign 30 pals" it probably would have been "assign 10 pals" or something. so while i have the OPTION of putting 40 in the base i probably won't do it.. i might for the base i summon a raid at, do the fight then put them all away. 😀 also, random by region is actually really fun.. there was a little more challenge at first, but not bad.. days later it's just funny that i've encountered plenty of the normally rarer pals, and very few of some common ones, like Chikipi i ended up buying a couple of them, took a long long time before i actually saw any in the wild.. yet i had some of the new pals right near the beginning. the only weird thing is i have a locked cave on feybreak island with like a level 17 enemy in it, but in order to get into it i have to first beat a level 57 warsect boss. 🤔 if you do fully random however.. yikes... level 50+ aggressive alpha pals right away.. it is still playable, but i'd strongly suggest setting it to not drop anything on death.. permadeath mode is like a "how many minutes can your survive" run..
I think customisation is great but shouldnt really be tampered with for a first run except the egg incubation timer. Get use to the default game then mess with settings as needed so it doesnt feel like cheating.
Yeah, the player damage multipliers' descriptions are confusing IMO: Damage to/from Pals seems to indicate how much damage a player can take/deal to Pals. How does that apply to a multi-player game? I take it the host's settings affect all players in that particular game and not each player's individual settings. However, does the game treat NPCs as players in regards to the "damage to/from player settings? Obviously they're not Pals as far as having index entries, but would the game treat, say, a Syndicate Grenadier as a player or as a Pal in regards to the damage mulitpliers?
Playing on Xbox since launch I’ve been hit with the World Autosave failed and I can no longer play on my world anyone know an actual fix for this or do I have to wait for them to fix this issue
I never understood the need to diminish a game's settings. Some customization's good, but making everything super easy? Why play the game, at that point? Feels empty and meaningless.
Because some of us are already end game and have beaten the game at normal settings so the only thing left to do is min max. Fun fact, how we play doesnt effect you retard

The "Seed" "setting" is so that you can share the randomization generation with other people/playthroughs.

pal spawn at 1.9 because itl spawn more luckys, but also makes bosses 1 so they dont crash the game. lol
