Most front dump drivers in our area have the skillset to get the right amount of concrete in the form, but you do occasionally get one that can’t quite get it right. Simple solution I found was to have them stop short 5’. A good front driver can save you a lot of hard work. Sometimes it’s a combination problem, the driver is trying to dodge workers who are used to having chute control, and constantly get in the way.
I like everything you do when you pour the concrete.....I like the forming, rebar, plastic on the house...everything you do I like....my only criticism is it always seems your mix is very soupy...I would like to see a bigger aggregate in your mix and maybe stiffen up the mix a bit.
There's no need to stiffen the mix, it has water reducer in it. We pay a little extra per yard for it so we can loosen it up. We order a 50/50 blend mix when stamping, half 3/4 stone and half 3/8 stone. It's what works best for stamping.
I have a question: I recently poured a 9ft X 13ft X 6 inch slab, reinforcing the slab with wire mesh. I kind of jumped the gun and back-filled around the slab after only 3 days with a 2,700lb sub compact tractor. I drove on the slab, then parked an 800lb trailer on it--all after only 3 days. I didn't notice any visible cracks or signs of damage. Could there possibly be damage coming down the road or will it be OK? The mix was rated for 3,500 psi.
Looks great as always Mike! Love watching your videos and all the tips you share!

Nice work!
Certainly a job for professionals 🎉
I noticed you started on the last concrete poured.!
The sun is the Boss!
Only a cure and seal should be used after 3 days. Most sealers alone need concrete fully cured.
Darren was in thinking mode
Nice pour Mike !
