    This was the very first Edinburgh Tattoo I ever went to see. Loved it.

    God Almighty....that's bloody brilliant. I've been a piper for nearly 50 years and this still makes my pulse race!

      Good. It could make anybody's pulse go crazy.

      Beside making me pulse, it made me fall in love with bagpipes. I still consider being present at that very tattoo one of the most magic experiences in my life. And consider that a quater of a century has passed.

    What an absolute honour it must of been for those pipers from overseas to be playing with the Pipes and drums of seven Scottish Regiments of the British Army at Edinburgh Castle.It don't come better than that.

    I had the pleasure of being a part of the later evening audience that year! I love watching this to remember my special experience. 19 year old on a college trip to Great Britain and our group for to go to Edinburgh for a weekend trip. It was amazing and this was probably the biggest highlight. Agree with another's comment that I wish we could see it without the commentary.

    I must say that out of all the tattoo videos that I have watched on RUclips I would have say that this one ranks in the Top 3. It's one of my life goals to play the pipes and play them pretty good. Good enough that if I were to come to Scotland to visit, pick up some pipes, and the 'ole Scotsman in his thick Scottish accent goes, oy laddie where yer from? Oh ,sir I'm from Indiana USA. And he would end up saying, "not too shabby for a yank".

    • @aceiq
      @aceiq 7 лет назад +3

      Come and have a go then. Scotland's door is always open. But I must warn you that playing the pipes is not something that is learnt in in a day, a week or even a year. To get to the standards that you're seeing in this video takes a lifetime. It's like going to Japan and learning to become a ninja, it takes years and it takes dedication. I'm speaking as a native Scot who's been playing for 30+ years. But if you want to do do it then Scotland is the place you need to be in. We never invented piping but we sure as hell perfected it.
