Hearing Pat talking about the 12 days jabbing reminds me of the IVF cycle which I went through 13 years ago. I had the quantity but not quality, hence none of my eggs were fertilised. What's worse was i suffered very bad side effects from the medicine of jabbing and was literally "drowning" myself and admitted to A&E to drain off the fluid buildup in my lung.
I believed mental stress of trying to get pregnant played a big part in me unable to conceive for many years. The moment I gave up hope of trying, I got pregnant within 3 months. The baby is really like "a god's gift"😊.
I’m 35 with 3 kids under 8. Don’t worry so much about if and how. Parenting will come to you on the job. Time is precious. When you have kids you only wish you had them younger so you can spend more time w them. You will discover love you never knew you had and a greater purpose in life
As an older woman, I am happy that freezing eggs is finally an viable option here but sad that I missed the cutoff age. Wished our country had done so sooner.

To be a parent is to expose yourself to a whole different level of vulnerability - i’ve been a parent for 15 years and there is never a time where i am not worried that something bad will happen to my child. But i would also like to believe that it has enabled me to be the best version of myself, for the child i brought into the world.
Omggg Pat and Jon’s story time is amazing during the injection period. 🥺🥺🥺 the love is strong here
Singapore citizens are lucky to have such programme. It is really good!
Pat's hair is super on fleek sia. Damn nice
Thank you!! BeSalon!!
It is so good to hear more on this. Having kids or not is a choice. If partner is supportive, the change from a wife to mum will be easier.
To Pat, I also think I want to strict with my kids to be more independent pre kids but after I had them. Will realized sometimes connecting the kids is more important.
Denise’s explanation of everything in this video is 10/10!! Not going to go for egg freezing but love her enthusiasm and clarity for this topic.
Thanks to Pat and John that TDK has up their game once again. Their sharing is detailed and entertaining at the same time.
Such a great episode! I think it helps to share a lot of crucial information in a positive light. Things like IUI, IVF and miscarriages should be talked openly more as well!
as a nursing student its so interesting to listen to the perspective of the patient and their experiences!! jiayous tdk and pat!
same
I have endometriosis and had recently gone through the keyhole surgery. Watching this video gave me a little bit of comfort knowing that I’m not alone. Good content and keep up the good work guys!
i've also tested negative on way too many pregnancy kits so i feel you, Pat!
Dan’s poker face is hilarious hahaha can you do an update video about Dan’s baby in oven?
12 out of 13 eggs maturing is great!! I had 31 but managed to extract 19, but I know that the percentage of eggs retrieved diminishes the more eggs you have, so a bigger number isn't always better!
Really love it whenever Pat is in the episode!😄
While its an important topic, I really appreciate the openness (not keeping any taboo) around the journey of having a child. Thank you for this yet another frank and educational video.
Worry and self-doubt leads you nowhere. There is no amount of planning that will prepare you to be a parent. You got this!!
Very good sharing. Journey to having a child is not just doing the “act” for some. The pressure of age, financial, housing and work related stress adds up.
Then you have relatives/friends asking why no baby yet without knowing the bigger picture. Am very mindful when speaking to married couples.
Process of IUI, IVF, sperm test etc doing the multiple runs to Gynaecologist takes a toll both financially and emotionally.
Can totally relate to John and Pat.. We've been married for 8+years and tried for 6+years and still waiting.. tried IUI and wasn't successful. We're currently at the stage that you guys are. Honestly, this is a question we question ourselves many times, "Should we be so intentional in this? Why can't we just let God be God" 💕 Thank you guys for sharing because I was tearing as i was watching it. Many people doesn't know what we're going through but it's so comforting to know we're not alone in this journey. "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

I am 39 & have been married for 5 years now, been trying very hard to conceive for sometime now. 😢
@@MsLilac88I feel you... ❤
Do not attempt to force anyone to be a father or mother, it will only do harm to their own kids, if you care about the well being of the kids and the impact of the kids lives in the long run. Parenthood should never be forced onto anyone, young old male female. Kids will know which parent/family members/relatives do not truly care about them, yes i handled many cases of kids therapy over the decades too.
What should Denise and I name our baby?
John Denver
@@andyhoo5358 u forgot baby hahaha
Fanny! Lol…
I must admit John & Pat are a really nice couple , truly liked minded people and very knowledgeable about their self being . True to heart. ❤😂🎉
Thank you for being real and open about it
I highly recommend people watching: Who Wants A Baby? (BB来了), a 2018 drama... for me it help to manage my expectations and handle my emotions. unaware to many, men can get post delivery depression as well, due to fatigue, after watching e show i really appreciate hubby alot. One very important reminder to all new parents: NEVER BLAME YOUR SPOUSE FOR WHAT HAPPEN TO YOUR CHILD. This was my motto for the past 5 years. As parents we want the best for our child, we didnt "push" the kid to cause it to have a bump on e head, or a fall onto the ground when its learning to walk etc. it is POSSIBLE to not blame, i did it, it's not that hard. Be calm and enjoy the new bundle of joy.
get well soon to Denise's neck!!!!
Such a fun episode!! My husband and I recently did IVF with Dr Loh at the TFC too so John and Pat’s egg freezing journey was really relatable and brought back memories! The sharing was super insightful and helpful to anyone intending to go through egg freezing/IUI/IVF, wish I could have watched this before I did mine!
Paiseh! I'm one of them who watch regularly but not subscribed. I've subscribed now! 😂😂😂
Egg freezing is a good option to delaying the making the choice of kids, though do also consider whether you'll have the energy to look at little ones when you're older. Sure you'll have more money, and money can solve lots of problems, but will you have the energy to chase your toddler when they're just learning to cycle, or teach them a sport?
And no, having pets isn't anything close to having kids. Probably if you have 5 puppies at once is perhaps equivalent and maybe that about puts your stress levels to the right level.
5 puppies still cannot compare to one kid 😅
Love Pat. Hope to see more of her in future videos.
Hello, I always feel intrigued by your amazing videos. 😊 I am 39 but I have been married & trying for 5 years now. I still haven’t been able to conceive & I exercise & have a balanced diet.
The look on Dan's face when he is asked whether he wants kids but he cannot share the happy news yet haha
Thank you for realising hahahaha stress sia
congrats!@@DanielHughLim
Congratulations! @@DanielHughLim
HAHAHA the calendar thing is so funny!
yay to longer podcast ep!! ❤
SG should also allow elective sperm freezing, especially since it's becoming more common for couples to have children at a later age. When a couple is unable to conceive, the issue doesn't always lie with the woman. As men age, the quality and quantity of their sperms degrade, and this may affect their fertility.
The self-control to not spill the bean for Dan is damn high hahaha
Really damn tough 🤣🤣
Wah the click bait never give chance ah
Couple look really good together. Cute. ❤
Dan is monkey. Nat is goat. If their baby is dragon, It’s 喉咙痒
Damn joke you omg 😂
Thanks for sharing your experience! Envious your relationship!
they look so alike in your thumbnail for this video
Once I click into this video, I was about to comment “congrats”! Then I realise… something is wrong, nobody commented congrats in the comment box.. 😅
Well done! Clickbait
Did pat and john ever tried IUI and if that fail, try IVF? Success chances in KKH are high
Hello. In my case, my fallopian tubes and his sperm were fine. So IUI may not be as helpful as IVF. So we were advised to go for IVF.
@@patrinatanhyhi! Just to share, my wife and I were similar, tubes and sperm were good, but we just tried IUI first anyway because it does help with the timing of insemination and they do process the sperm (to pick the best ones). And we got lucky with the first try on IUI.
I think it’s still worth a try since IUI is inexpensive and quite an easy process.
This is a very good episode. 👍🏻👏🏻
can you guys do an ep on adoption vs giving birth; would be great to see different opinions
I think making baby requires a relax mind. Stress might be a cause on obstruction. When u r trying to make a baby as if it's a job it feels wrong though. Feels like you can't miss out the effort in setting up the atmosphere, building up the emotions. I believe a number of babies are made overseas too. Not sure if you guys are aware, tcm does help in womens problem too. Like regulating your period n all and supporting planned babies. I would think it's worth the try then to go through needles since it's not egg or sperm problem. Although pat mentioned that she is unsure. I think from the looks on her expressions it's a 100% yes though. It's just will u get it or not and should be able to live with both. I am sure we will see greater smiles from the couple if there is a accident baby. All the best! Believe in miracle! ❤ Maybe get some tips from xiao ming&wife? 😅
Hi shout out to crew having lunch near by you guys walk past me just nw I wanted to take photos with u guys but u guys are walking and having lunch I hope to take photo with u guys soon if I met u again at cannot tell location.. I wan take photo but you guys have ur own privacy I need to respect. Hi both John walk past me. 😊
“And then get UTI” my exact thoughts 😂😂😂
pat don't tu already lah. it's not just the egg quality, it's the birthing process etc. that makes it harder. u confirm can one.
Enjoyed this episode. Thank you! And congrats Dan!
Thank you!!!!
I thought ‘oven’ is a code word for something else
When u have the child the feeling will be different. You will be more tolerant
As a Christian, this is the most pressing thing - when you keep planning or putting things in your control, you are actually playing God and not trusting God in your plan. so when you want a child, it might be too late :( anyway put it in God's hands. God-willing.
lmaoooo 2:58 when pat does the exact impression, and john gives the 'seriously, u want or don't want' expression. hahahah
Oven need to heat up often to remove moisture? Where to read up about this?
so did they have a baby?
You cant train your kid. Your kid will train you. Trust me 😂 mother of two here
finally got baby
BABY!
Thank you for this episode. Got more perspective.
My girlfriend don’t want kids, but I do, we’re late 20s and I’m feeling lost. Idk whether is this a factor to continue the relationship or not.
Any advice?
Having a child got to be a firm Yes from both parties. It takes alot of physical and more so mental fortitude to care for a young human being and moments of being a couple will be tested irregardless how tight your relationship was prior to the child’s arrival. Definitely not a straightforward task of checking off the list of Adulting.
I guess the question goes back to you. How impt is it for you to have your own kid? How sure is ur gf that she doesn't want to have a kid? Why is she saying no now? Does she not like a kid? Money concerns? Wrong phase in life to think about having a kid? It has to be based on a case by case basis, with the judgement of you understanding her as a person to make a decision. If it is a hard no from her that she don't like being around kids and can't stand kids while you love kid and can't live without one maybe take a break and consider to move on finding someone that truly want to have kid as a criteria before stepping in any r/s just to prevent u from wasting time with ppl having different goals in life. The age of your gf matters too. Which comes with maturity. How much do you love her, or what's the percentage of the match with your personality as your lifelong partner? Tbh, I don't think guys in the late 20s should be too worried. Unless there may be underlying medical condition. They say guys are like wine. Where the older the better while ladies are the opp. Just go as the flow and follow your heart, I would say. It depends on how strong is the love and which direction isit at. The key is to communicate with your partner to come to a conclusion.
If both of you have different goals in your life, one sees a future with his kids and the other doesn’t want kids. Then it’s better to part ways early and give yourself a chance to create a family with a likeminded partner. I have seen friends who parted ways after “the kids” arrived because one partner is not giving his/her all to becoming a parent. It’s sad but it’s reality. No matter how much you love each other in the beginning, love always takes a 2nd seat when it comes down to having a real family with kids. Not every man or woman are cut out to be a parent. I have a girlfriend who hates children and doesn’t have maternal instincts and she’s only truly happy with her single status.
Blunt truth hurts, Quality of sperm matters too, for 50% responsibility of making healthy children, how the father smoke drink partying drugs sleep quality underlying medical condition in the long run, affects his sperm quality as well, i work in hospital for decades, working closely with doctors and nurses, helping them and patients with admin paper work, you will be surprised to see A LOT of early 20s male having low sperm count and bad quality sperm during ivf, sadly this world is not educated enough of the health of the sperm. More than half of the time the cases i see are bad sperm quality causing unhealthy or failed pregnancy or children too. There are COUNTLESS cases of females in 40s 50s having their first kid WITHOUT ivf, immediately after their second marriages/husbands too. Yes all their first husbands were infertile and refuse to accept, make effort and changes for his own health or rather sperm quality. Yet just shift the blame to female and they lost great wives/partners. In hospital and clinics, We staffs really see a lot of types of man child, you would not want your female loved ones to marry and have kids with.🤷🏻♂️

It’s amazing that not wanting kids by choice is still not normalised in today’s day and age.
educational and such a hilarious ep!
