The car crash was the " consequences " she suffered. This is also why gerald had the alcohol in the back of his shop / liquor shop. He may of also owned a bar as drinking was his only hope ( correct me if im wrong i think thats what it says ) gerald needed help to drive because of this. His parents also died when he was younger. Im not too sure what to say anymore soo yeah.

Also the reason for the 2nd mini game for Gerald is a truck driving game it is because Gerald was drunk driving and crashed into the princess and Darcy in the real world that’s why Darcy mentioned she just wanted the best for her and her daughter so Darcy and the princess are technically related (there was also bottles of alcohol behind him in the 3rd horror sequence when he asked you questions)
