I've actually been thinking about getting one of these as a little reward to myself if I pass my MSF test, cause the CT 125 seems way overpriced and really hard to find right now, and this would give me a cheap way to find out how I actually feel about something with this semi-auto setup.
Do you think it works well enough stock, or would you reccomend staying away for someone with not much mechanical knowledge?
Current bike is one of those little automatic Honda Navis.

The carbs that came with mine were really small which made them hard to start. I guess they did that to comply with California regulations. I tried a 26mm Molkt, and tuned it up, but I believe that was a little too big. Two identical carbs on two Champions. I jetted both of them. They give you plenty of power, but want to bog when you are cruising, and go to slightly increase your speed. If I goosed it they would snap back, but really annoying after a while. Now I'm running a 24mm Nibbi. The main jet is a #24 currently, and I've ben really happy with that so far. I may try to dial it in a little better, but as is it's running really good, and starts very easy. As far as exactly what the Champion is I think a good way to think about it is not as a clone, but a model under license with some liberties taken. An example is the 125cc engine. I don't know if there is any such agreement, but that's what it seems like. I imagine Honda wouldn't allow the manufacturer to give them a Honda name. As for the transmission it's not hard to get used to. I tried a toe shifter, and switched back. It's really too short for me to stand up on comfortably, and I confess I'm usually in flip flops %70 of the year. It is a little jerky downshifting, and because the hub isn't buffered. Larger tires will help a lot with that. So IMOH a 24mm carb, and as big a tires that will fit are the two best mods you can do. The carb is really easy to get to, but if you get a Nibbi be sure you get the one with a flat flange to match the intake flange. I suppose this holds trye for other brands as well. There is another slip on type. As far as working on the bike it's by far one of the easiest. Everything is really accessible, and there are several forums if you have questions. I'll also be happy to help answering any questions I can.

@@masondawson4061 That has to be the single most detailed answer I've ever received on RUclips, lol. Thanks a ton!

@@TotemoGaijin I just thought of something else. If you aren't aware they recently started offering one with a manual called Amigo Rocky. I've only watched one video on it though. It was a comparison that made the Champion look to be a little better, but definitely worth looking into if the transmission is an important issue to you.
