    This guy is an actor’s actor. He always takes on his roles as high art. I don’t think that he has once thought about the fame and notoriety of being a big star - he is an artist producing fine art: he uses his whole body and mind in bringing his characters to life. I find his performances mesmerizing.

      Willem Dafoe is very humble, honest, knows and is highly detailed with his craft and methods in acting. I think he deserves a Kennedy Honor Award. I hope the Academy honors him sometime within the next five years. We have lost so many great celebrities before they were given recognition they deserved, some that never received a Kennedy Honor Award that I believe deserved one.

    8:49 I haven’t seen Florida project. But based on that clip it makes the scene feel organic like it’s a natural place and not just a movie set

      Agree- I actually like it’s inclusion. I don’t remember hearing a ton of helicopters in the film, but things like that just kinda add to the immersion. That’s super important for a movie like Florida Project

    I had to find out if Willem has an Oscar and I was blown away at the fact that he actually doesn't have one! The mastery he demonstraded in this video was just out of this world, he knows what he is doing, he obviously cares for his craft and it completely shows !

    What a legend. Every one of these films are iconic and in no little part due to how his performances enhanced the film. Also the helicopters in orlando are just a piece of everyday. They did a good job showing how rough life can be around here for people.

    Such an under appreciated INSANELY talented actor. One of the best dramatic actors of our generation of cinema tbh. So many nuances brought to so many extraordinary but ENTIRELY different roles throughout his career. I love this man.

    Dafoe is one of the best acting teachers alive as well. He knows it all. His advice about how he doesn’t think about his face when he is acting is amazing. You can look ridiculous trying to hard to convert your face to an emotion. Just express that emotion as genuinely as you can and the rest will follow.

    Dafoe spent over 20 years helping run a small theatre company. Even when he didn’t need the money for years and was a busy actor he stick around to teach acting.
