Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu.

Dreamcatcher, Ateez, and TXT are the top 3 in terms of my favorite groups, so the fact that they all have songs titled 'Deja Vu' is crazy 😭😭😭 Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu - My first comeback with them and a straight up masterpiece, especially in terms of the music and the mv imo Ateez's Deja Vu - One of the songs my older sister used to get me into them. It's hella addicting and always a vibe TXT's Deja Vu - Sadly, the original version didn't really catch my attention like some of their other title tracks did, but I really like the Anemoia Remix
For me, Dreamcatcher is the first alternative K-pop group - and with the best singing potential. It's really worth continuing to follow her path. Lately "Fairytale" (official special MV), "Demian" (official special MV), "Rising" (live show case") and "Shatter" (official dance MV) have been the hits for me - not just in K- Pop, thank you for your attention.

I'd heard the Ateez version before but not the TXT one and they're both really good, but Dreamcatcher's Deja Vu is just phenomenal. The funny thing is that Dreamcatcher's version was done as a mobile game collaboration with the game Kings Raid. Your comments about the lyricism were also on point. Dreamcatcher ALWAYS have a message in their songs, and they're known for using their craft to bring awareness to social issues. Their Dystopia trilogy (Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye) are about online bullying, hate speech, and how social media is a fake utopia that's just a sweet lie covering up darker truths. Their Apocalypse trilogy (Maison, Vision, and Bonvoyage) is a call to action on climate change and war and how those will one day leave us without a home (Maison in French). Dreamcatcher always incorporate rock instrumental into their title tracks in varying degrees. Sometimes it's very pronounced and is throughout the whole song and other times it only shows up in specific sections like the Chorus in Deja Vu. They also include a lot of piano in their instrumentation, especially for their b-sides. Their b-sides cover a wide variety of genres, including EDM, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, Funk, Rock, Metal, Trap, and much more. If you want another song with a similar feel to Deja Vu, then as others mentioned Bonvoyage is the one to check out next. This was the end of their Apocalypse Trilogy, and the song is a love letter to Earth in the context of their storyline, though it can be interpreted as being for anyone. Also, since you mentioned that you're a fan of Ateez, you should know that Dreamcatcher's two main producers are also members of the Ateez Production crew, Edenary, and have been producing for both groups since Ateez debuted, as Dreamcatcher is the senior group. Over the last 2 years, more producers from Edenary have been working on Dreamcatcher's discography as well and at this point, they share almost all the same producers.
