Thanks for such an in-depth review. On the dry skin lotion-luxury fragrance topic... The day I made my first Jo Malone purchase I was struggling with wanting to buy so many things at once that I felt that I needed to pass on the Body Creme. The sales associate saw my struggle and gave me the best tip ever. Rather than spend $90-$110 for the tub of body creme, buy the Jo Malone Bath oil for $72 (today's prices) and a good drugstore unscented body lotion. Every time you need lotion pump out the drugstore lotion and add a pump (or more) of the bath oil to it. Now you have a luxury body creme AND if you use oil that matches your perfume, as I did, then it does help your fragrance last all day. But the best part is that I bought that body oil in 1996 and I still have half of it left. Never has gone rancid, it's perfect. Oh the money that tip has saved me!
i’ve been wearing their santal 33 perfume since I was 17 and I smelled it my room at the ace hotel in flatiron NYC. i emailed the receptionist of the hotel asking what the scent was and haven’t stopped wearing it since. i’m now 25 and to this day get compliments on it constantly! honestly don’t care that it’s become so popular, i’ll never give it up.
The Hinoki shower gel is hands down my favorite. In regards to the lotion, my go to is also the Hinoki body cream. Better priced, last longer and I believe overall a better lotion.
Last month I stayed in a hotel in Chicago which had Le Labo Rose as their toiletry. It was OK but I would not spend my own money on these. However, in the Delta lounge Ohare airport, they had the Grown Alchemist Orange and Cedarwood handwash. It was so good! I am thinking of trying their bodywash.
Same, body wash scents never last on my skin. All my lotions, deodorant, and perfume cancels it out anyway. Would cop this for a special occasion/mood only.
For the price of the lotion, I wouldn't buy that. Tried the Bergamote 22 lotion in the store and immediately said no..... got the body wash and fragrance instead. However, if they went the Jo Malone route and made body creme to match the fragrance, I'd definitely pay that.
I generally use shower gels for an aromatic shower experience (beyond cleaning of course). I usually don't expect the scent to linger which is fine because I have scented lotion and perfume for that. For a much lower price point, Korres makes excellent body washes with complex scent profiles. I like Bergamot Pear.
Hinoki is hands down one of the best shower gels out there. That scent is amazing. My only complains there is no pump and you can't buy refills. My fave perfumes from Le Labo is Thé Noir, Iris, Rose and Another 13. I'm done with Santal. You smell it on every corner 🤣
These are good points! A pump and refills should be a norm. Santal is literally everywhere but its so good! lol. I might have to look into Another 13, sounds promising.
I would say, give Santal a rest for about 5-10 years, buy it then and be the one who gives it a revival 😅 I love Another 13 but the problem with it is that it dosen't last that long, you need to re-spray every 3-4 hours. It's more of a skin scent...a very expensive skin scent, but it is definitely good. I tried to layer Thé Noir and Tonka, oh boy, that's a good combo. I might have to get Tonka 😍
I think body oil is a better deal than the body lotion. Also highly recommend the le labo mens grooming products, they are kinda like aroma therapy for me....I also like the candle petit grain so much, so I bought the petit grain home fragrance but I wear them as perfume haha
I personally didn’t vibe with the Hinoki shower gel. I’m about halfway through the bottle and it’s not that I actively dislike it, it’s just that I haven’t really been wowed.
I love LeLabo products. Favorite scents are Bergamot 22, Rose 31, The Noir, Santal 33 Lys 41. They are wonderful. Would love to see you do a candle review.
I agree about the differences of perfumed and the natural gels. I love LYS 41 so I splurged on the gel and found the base to be...meh. It reminded me of a generic castile base with perfume sprayed atop. I used it occasionally so I wouldn't waste my money. I ordered the hinoki sample and loved the thick and rich texture. I just ordered again. I would love to try the mandarin, but it's always sold out.
Tried Rose 31 shower gel in a hotel in Dubai it was lovely and as I have Bergamot 22 fragrance I know the shower gel would be expensive. Might buy one but it looks expensive. The fragrance isn’t the longest lasting
I absolutely love the coat you're wearing! Where is it from? Consider making some men's fashion videos. I'm sure many people would love that type of content. Keep up the great work bro! 🙌
Hey detailed dream I have a question for you. Would you still purchase a candle if it was 100% soy wax but that used zinc core wicks? Or are you against the use of zinc core wicks in luxury candles? I really enjoy your content btw 😊
Jack Black, Molton Brown, Terra Tory, Byredo (Costly for the size but love the scents), and Cremo from Target. These are just a few brands that are in my main rotation right now.
I have three Le Labo fragrances, The Noir 29, Bergamot 22 and Gaiac 10. I also want Cedrat 37 but have to wait until September when the city exclusives will come back to my local boutique. The Noir quite powerful, very few sprays last all day leave a huge sillage. Bergamot also last quite long. Especially for a citrus scent, but the sillage is more moderate. Gaiac sits closest to the skin, but does still last. I am curious about their candles and body products, but was way of getting sucked into the body products--somehow the money going literally down the drain feels worse than shelling out for the EDPs. Will probably spring for a candle soon, however.
Gonna pick up some body cream and body wash gonna grab the smaller version first time ever trying them never even smelled there scent all I got is some creed cologne I got for Christmas and I’m trying to expand alltime fav scent is Burberry touch wore it since 16 always get compliments
I agree with everything 💚I also love the hinoki shower gel! Reminds me of a big SPA (the Well) here in Norway who has a japanese bath house on top, and this shower gel transports me to that place with a zen mind. When it comes to body lotions I prefer to use unscented, skin friendly ones and then mix in high quality and lovely essential oils. Thank you for your lovely YT-channel! 💚
I have to invest in a parfum before I invest in their parfuming lotion or soap from Le Labo...But I'll try the shower gel soon... Random: Harlem Candle Co just released 3 new scents...I'm sure I'll hear about them from you soon...lol
Oh Thanks for making this! I wanted to try the perfumed body wash 😅 welp, no more! As much as I love a luxury body wash, I also like one that’s nice on the pockets. Can’t wait to try the natural line. Thanks for sharing 💕
This is a good question. Honestly If either brand had this in their lineup, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They are also the same exact size and priced the same. I would personally pick Aesop only because their primary focus is skincare.
The basil/sesame shower gel just gives you that fresh and clean feeling that no other body wash does! Definitely a must buy!

Oh this is an AMAZING tip! The possibilities are endless! Thank you so much for this!
@@DetailedDream it works with any luxury bath oil. Great way to layer your fragrance and save money.

Wear it too! Amazing scent !
My boss wears the scent, had to ask him about it. 😅
The Hinoki shower gel is hands down my favorite. In regards to the lotion, my go to is also the Hinoki body cream. Better priced, last longer and I believe overall a better lotion.
Yall he’s not lying about the shower gel!! The first time I used it and got into bed my gf was all over me. Get the hinoki one!!

Ive never tried Grown Alchemist before. They look promising, and they offer refills! Adding to my pickup list!
Mmm, I'm with you on rose fragrances! I can't get enough roses in my life!
Same, body wash scents never last on my skin. All my lotions, deodorant, and perfume cancels it out anyway. Would cop this for a special occasion/mood only.

You might like Aesop's 'A Rose By Any Other Name Body Cleanser' it's a lovely rose and pepper scent. And a fabulous brand.
Oh yes❤ Aesop is also in my opinion in the top of the top when it Comes to scent. But maybe I am biased. Eidesis is a fantastic scent.
Hinoki is hands down one of the best shower gels out there. That scent is amazing. My only complains there is no pump and you can't buy refills.

This is a good point. Its definitely not invigorating as others, but a good option to have.
I love LeLabo products. Favorite scents are Bergamot 22, Rose 31, The Noir, Santal 33 Lys 41. They are wonderful. Would love to see you do a candle review.
I havent talked about Le Labo candles in quite some time. Great idea!
I agree about the differences of perfumed and the natural gels. I love LYS 41 so I splurged on the gel and found the base to be...meh. I do love and enjoying right now one of their wash linen detergents 32 & 33 and my bed sheets are whole another level 💜
I love the smell of my linen with their detergent. So good!
Tried Rose 31 shower gel in a hotel in Dubai it was lovely and as I have Bergamot 22 fragrance I know the shower gel would be expensive. Might buy one but it looks expensive. The fragrance isn’t the longest lasting
@detaileddream have you tried L:A Bruket’s shower gels? They’re based in Sweden.
Is the bottle for the Hinoki bath gel easy to dispense. I’ve had some in the past that were too stiff to squeeze.
I absolutely love the coat you're wearing! Where is it from? Consider making some men's fashion videos. I'm sure many people would love that type of content. Keep up the great work bro! 🙌

I have Another 13, Santal 33, and Tonka 25 perfumes.
These are great scents as well! How long do they last on you skin?
Try Aesop, completely natural and fancy smell
Hi Rekeema, i
Thank you for the reviews. You got that special effects going on 🔥 🔥.
PeAcE
Thank you soooo much!!!
Just found your channel .. loving your videos! Very helpful
check out the Matcha 26, warm fig, tea and light powdery orange sitting on vetiver ❤
let me…
hinoki shower gel, hinoki body cream paired with their bergamot parfum!!!
godly combo
If you don’t mind me asking.. what are some of your favorite body washes?
Jack Black, Molton Brown, Terra Tory, Byredo (Costly for the size but love the scents), and Cremo from Target. These are just a few brands that are in my main rotation right now.
I bought their santal 33 soap bar. It was very drying and the scent pretty much washed away after I rinsed off.
I have three Le Labo fragrances, The Noir 29, Bergamot 22 and Gaiac 10. I also want Cedrat 37 but have to wait until September when the city exclusives will come back to my local boutique. do you use the same fragrance if u use the same lotion? thinking about wearing Santal cologne on top of santal lotion
I agree with everything 💚I also love the hinoki shower gel! Which would you say is better or prefer? Le Labo body wash or Aesop?
You honestly wouldnt be disappointed with either one. theyre both on the same level in terms of pricing, scents, and size.
Oh Thanks for making this! I wanted to try the perfumed body wash 😅 welp, no more! As much as I love a luxury body wash, I also like one that’s nice on the pockets. Can’t wait to try the natural line. Thanks for sharing 💕
Agreed! lol I like a good shower gel that will last more than 2 days lol
Bergamote 22 is perfection 👌🏼
Would the Hinoki work for a woman?
Rekeema what is the name of the luxury candle store in NY you talked about before? I have it saved on my old phone. Amouth?
Found it 👍🏾, Amara
Been using Mistral Salted Gin from Candle Delirium. It's not bad.
Ive been seeing their body washes around but never looked into it. Thanks for letting me know. I will add them to my pickup list.
Wheres your jacket from please?
its actually thrifted
Anthony makes a better natural shower gel at a much affordable price
How does this compare to Aesop body wash?
This is a good question. Honestly If either brand had this in their lineup, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They are also the same exact size and priced the same. I would personally pick Aesop only because their primary focus is skincare.
Your skin deserves the very best, don't you think?
❤ another 13
Le Labo Fragrances are way over priced and performance is a bit light not taking away the scent profile which is good. Thats been my experience.
This is good to know!
Have you ever had a bad candle experience?
Oh yea. I have a video on the peppercorn scent from Molton Brown that I had to return. Also a few experiences from Target candles.
I finished 2 bottles and my mom also in her 2nd jumbo bottle🫶🏻
