Speaking of that, the 我 kanji is not the most common in Japanese to refer to self. Saying 'watashi' (私) or 'boku' (僕) sounds more natural, while 'waga' (我) sounds a bit ancient to me.
Also, I don't know what the last kanji in his name is.

The ``Sannin´´ is not a rank, it is a title that was given to the three of them for their exploits in the past, and they are Sannin because SAN in Japanese is three
its actually an acronym for densetsu no sannin which literally means Legendary three ninja so when they say sannin they only refer to 3 of them
It just means "They are the three" legendary guys everyone talked about in the past. Recognized in a way, like a title and not a rank.

Shisui was like 9 years old fighting in the great war. He was so strong that he got a title. The mizukages right hand remembered fighting him in battle and considered him one of the strongest opponents he ever fought. Bro was just 9

You already got this probably, but sanin means "3 ninja" and it refers to those 3 yes. Ron is also kinda right on the rank. Is not actually a rank but you could place it above Jonin and below Hokage (but yes is just a term to refer to those 3, who had great feats as a team, explained later on)
I actually don't place them under the kage level though...They all are definitely kage level for sure!!

The legendary sanin is the trio of Jiraya, tsunade, and orochimaru. The term basically means 'The legendary ninjas'. Also they were all trained by the third hokage.
You'll get to know better about them in later episodes when jiraya goes to retrieve tsunade.
Also the names of people from a Japanese folklore.

Love the parallel of Itachi and Kisame, and Vegeta and Nappa, with the big guy being weaker than the shorter guy, and following orders without question, but also respecting his partners strength and wisdom. Also, Itachi is kind of meant to resemble Dracula, looks wise, also with all his crows which you’ll see later.
I still can't get over how Kurenai tried to use genjutsu on Itachi. 🤣

Yes, Sannin is just those 3, Jiraya’s team, the history/reason behind that name/title will be explained more in Shippuden. And the ranks are academy student, genin, chunin, jonin, and hokage. The Sannin would all fit/qualify as Hokage level ninja, just like almost all of the Akatsuki would, them being S rank criminals. So the Sannins are very powerful, but also very respected and wise, cause of they 50 years of age, and vast knowledge of unique jutsu, why Itachi described Jiraya as dangerous for the Akatsuki to engage, not so much cause of power level as cause of knowledge of hidden jutsu, that nobody else knows, why they shouldn’t be underestimated, but Itachi is not really afraid of facing him or anything, also cause he himself has loads of hidden tricks, which you will see more of in Shippuden. Also, Kakashi knew Itachi from the black ops, and not confirmed, but I’m sure he asked for Guy to come as well asap, cause he’s one of the few that Itachi has ever stated not to underestimate, cause Kakashi, Asuma and Kurenai are nothing against Itachi, one of the strongest ninja ever, especially for his young age, and cause he killed the entire single strongest clan, the Uchiha. Those 3 really should’be been way more scared when they had to face Itachi, 7-8 years later, knowing how powerful he’d become in that time.

Even someone like Orochimaru, who had lived through the era of Uchihas, who was the first nominee for the 4rth Hokage title, who had experimented and researched Sharingan thoroughly, who was considered pure genius in generations by none other than the 3rd Hokage, who was feared by all the nations, fell for Itachi's normal paralysis Genjutsu that doesn't even need eye contact.

Sannin is the terms used only for Oroshimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade with nearly Sage power from their summoning jutsu called the three-way deadlock. That’s as much as I can say without spoiling.

Not true if you have watched the whole anime itachi never wanted anything to do with leaf all he wanted was to warn danzo that he is still alive and if anything happens to sasukae he would not hesitate to enter leaf and finish him off , itachi was not serious in that fight he could have killed kakshi and the rest as well , as for guy the only reason he didn't want to mess no more was beacuse he had just used his ms ability which takes massive amount of his Chakra/energy that's the only reason he said no more games otherwise a pure taijutsu user is never beating a genjustu specialist , also guy thought itachi only casts genjustu when you look at him which is again false when later kakshi met him again along with naruto , itachi was shown to cast genjustu just by moving his finger at his eyes so yeah guy will get clapped by him he won't get the chance to use is inner gates he will be long gone is tsukiyomi

For me, the most significant part is when Maito Gai appears, Kakashi - who was awake due to pure sheer survival instinct - instantly pass out. I think he trusts Gai so much he felt they were safe.

Really late but for those who still don't know, sannin is a title given to Jiraiya, orochimaru and tsunade, during the second shinobi world war these 3 was the only survivor in battle against Hanzo a legendary shinobi from amagakure, impressed by these 3 Hanzo himself declare them as "konoha legendary sannin", after that war the title sannin still used to refer these 3

the sannin title was given to them by someone for how strong they were basically it a amazing title sort of but it technically isnt in the tier system gennin, chunin, and jonin and kage which is elected/chosen sannin is placed above jonin by the community and sort of in the verse

The other names like shinobi, sannin are not ranked related, but a name for a certain style of ninja

There will be an explanation for why the three of them are called "the legendary 3 people", later in the series.
Sanin just means three, these 3 are called the Legendary Sanin i.e. Jiraya, Tsunade and Orochimaru, and it was a name given to them by Hanzo of the Salamander!

The Sannin titles are shinobi who can tame a stronger legendary creature and master their power (sage mode) which means they are the strongest among others in that village. Like Jiraiya he has Toad and master sage mode, Tsunade has Slug and master 100 healing jutsu, and Orochimaru has Snake also master sage mode.

Shinobi refers to their occupation as ninja in general, Naruto at this stage is a Shinobi, so is Kakashi, Jiraiya or any other ninja that has graduated from the academy. The ranks are from bottom to top Genin, Chuunin, Jonin and Kage. There are different groups within those ranks, like the Anbu blackops for example. The Sanin are Jiraiya, Orochimaru and Tsunade, which are also often referred to as the legendary Sanin.

Kakashi only collapsed after Guy came in. He knows he's good now that Guy's there. He tried his best to stay awake to protect Asuma/Kurenai as much as he can, but he knows he can pretty much rest once the goat arrived. Don't sleep on Guy!
