I really feel like Gw is missing out on a huge opportunity, I loved the command edition box it gives you a lot of really good terrain and a decent matt that's a bit too small but I feel like if Gw would release box sets of different themed factions of terrain with a nice high-quality matt it would do really well they are struggling to push out terrain because not many people want to spend 50-70 pounds on a single structure but they would rather spend around double that for a singular themed battle set
I know, when I first seen this release that's exactly what I thought. Especially with the data cards it makes me feel like this is just the beginning. I feel like we will get more terrain series and data cards to match, the fact that this series is the only one with cards is what makes me think that.
It's illegal to claim Made in UK unless at least a majority of it is made in UK. But then, it's also illegal for them to advertise a voucher as 'free' when you have to spend £65 to get the voucher in the first place.
Actually not really, since they don't sell the sprues alone, it would qualify as made in the UK. Since the manufacturing of the sprues would fall to the parts part of the labeling guidelines(you can in fact have 100% of all of the parts manufactured elsewhere, as long as a substantial change occurs. Here is an example of one I'll explain why GW can say made in UK in the next paragraph though, Say you make chairs, you can have all the bolts/wood/plastic/cushions/etc manufactured outside the UK and then you assemble them into the chair in the UK. That is in fact "Made in the UK" If they had though China print the box's, instructions, and sprues and assemble them in China, then the couldn't and for "made in the UK" the design part is normally irrelevant however you then say "designed in UK" Basically the assembled part is where it counts with this type of product. So the sprues being manufactured elsewhere doesn't matter much at all in fact the % manufactured in the UK is largely un-important, its all about a substantial change to make the final product. Even though from our perspective the sprues are all that matters, but made in the UK takes all those parts together since what GW actually sells is the model kit, not sprues, so boxing up the sprues and adding the instructions themselves would count as the substantial change needed to qualify, since this is a "model kit" not plastic sprues. Basically boxing it up in this case is really all that matters since it transforms the box/instructions/sprues into the actual product.
I used my favorite colors for mine, im realy partial to the screamer pink. I sprayed mine with a tan color then gave it a light dusting of mechanicus grey, trimmed out in gold. Looks awesome. Taking my time on it, between this, the command expansion set, another storage fane and subcloister, and armored container. I've got my work cut out for me. My battlefield is looking super sharp and I'm very proud to show it off. Not stoked about the cost but I just started the hobby last October so I'm buying everything I can anyway. $2000+ later and I'm finally ready to play lol.
Do you play Kill Team? I have 1 of the really old GW buildings, as well as an Aegis Defence Line, a couple non-GW shipping containers.... and am working on some homemade craters...but my favorite terrain kits have been the original Kill Team starter set with the Sector Imperialis ruins, and the Command Edition battlefield expansion set that you showed... I have yet to even prime the battlefield expansion set, or play any games with it... but it added a great variety of stuff and another Kill Team board... I now think I have enough terrain for a fair variety, a nicely populated board up to 3x4 feet or so, and a not too barren looking 4x6' or the new 44x60" size... lately I only do Kill Team, but may start back into 40K with combat patrol at some point in the next year...
The plastics may have been made in the UK with this current release just to avoid any international shipping restrictions because of Covid but that's something you'd have to ask a GW rep to verify.
Great review as usual, but the slow-mo of you dropping that box brought back painful memories of me dropping a transsuranic arquebus skitarii yesterday 😂
I don't mind the price- it is a large piece- but I don't like paying that amount for something made in China, something that I imagine was cheap as chips for GW. Its fishy and weird.
I picked up the older Basilica Administratum building ( images.dakkadakka.com/s/i/gallery/img/2015/1/13/678488.jpg ), last year, off eBay - it has the three stories (plus roof ledge) but looks to be the same overall height, as its wall "plates" are about 2/3 the size. Putting it together was a slight pain, as it lacks the guide-pillars these newer kits seem to have, for allignment - but the finished kit is rock solid. I dropped a metal tray on it, in a clumsy moment, and all it did was take a small divot out of a floor plate. See the old kit on one site ("giftsforgeeks") for £18, ATM - a reasonable price, if you don't mind the extra fiddlyness.
Shame this is too expensive to really make proper Titan hiding buildings. Titan Owners Club thanks you for your review Super (especially with a Titan model) 🤗
Too expensive? For a Titan owners club? That strikes me as very odd. If people have enough money to drop £1K on a model they have enough for a few £40 scenery kits.
Sup3rSaiy3n need a few more than a couple... works out as about 6-8 kits for a decent sized building. And we usually have around 20 on the floor for a battle
They make the books in china, I'm guessing that includes the manuals since it could be a contract or easier than making them here. The box and the sprues ar Ade in the UK but the manual was designed and made in china, I think they should say printed in china too avoid this sort of thjng
I HIGHLY doubt that. All their scenery has always been made in China and seeing as this scenery is made from the exact same plastic as their previous China made kits it makes sense this one is too. Further support of my point is the previous kits in this new battlezone range are also made in China.
Totally. I just want to know where it is made. It would be like Apple having all of their products display the label made in California but then in small writing on the welcome guide say made in China. I think transparency is the key.
@@Sup3rSaiy3n just looked on the instructions for sub-cloister and storage fane says designed in the UK made in china on the outside of the box made in the UK
Made in china, definitely. Gw wants to optimize profit more and more. And these sets are way to expansive. It's one ruin... Look what u can get from pegasus hobbies in their gothic city building range... Much more plastic for half the price. Combine it with techobridge and some gw stuff an u spare a lot of money. Sad thing gw...
I love the slo mo when you drop expensive shit. It's hilarious.

Completelly agree
@Django Fett I saw on at my local game store and picked it up recently instead of picking up one of the buildings I really like the box set

Definitely some dodgey things happening with both businesses and governments in these strange times.

I picked up the Vertigus set at the weekend. Super pleased with it.
It's awesome isn't it?! I'm really excited about this terrain set.
I like it. Nice size, nice footprint. Looks really cool on that white and red color scheme. 👍🏻
Strange ... this looks bigger than I thought/expected it to be. I would have thought GW would make a point of that.
Will you be painting this up and will you one day consider putting up a channel display board at .......... location with these scenery releases in?
Yeah sure although painted scenery is typically right down on the bottom of my priority unfortunately.
Get one of the discord to blitz it out lol. Can just imagine your titans walking through the buildings with your marines around their feet
Are the gaps between floors higher than 5 inches? If so the terrain kinda sucks. It looks like a pretty big gap on video
Could you tell me please, how tall (in inches or cm-s) the one floor and the whole thing?
Strangely the vertigus set has made in the U.K. on the instructions as well and my necron codex was printed in the U.K.

Ouch! I always manage to drop something in every video 😟
Love these!!
This kit is the same as the old Sector Imperialis Manufactorum. Its basically just an additional sprue to make the bigger building.

Why not make them in Nottinghamshire they have the facilities
Much cheaper to make them in China. They also print all the books there too btw.

I’m going to my local warhammer shop today so I might pick this up. (If my wallet can handle it) ;)
If you’re in Europe you could use my affiliate link to get it cheaper and support this content. Understand if you live elsewhere though.

it's a bit sketchy they have not been totally truthful on the box might want to email GW and show them the misprint on the box
youd think it would at least be cheaper if made in china :p
Wonder if the customer could complain to a government body
@@MalcadorTheSigilite I think trading standards might be the place to Go if GW dose not correct the issue.
