Ab and Acey came to my crib off Normandie and King Blvd to make the flyer for the first "Project Blowed". After watching this again it made me think to look for the file and if I have it I can see the exact date I made the flyer. Dope interview very insightful. - Imperator
@28:31-Archie & Trick= Dolla Holla/section 8 from tha BEAUTIFUL DAY in the NEIGHBORHOOD song....thanks for the mention...much luv to AB & the BLOWED dope interview from Open Mike for a WestCoast legend....watts life
I love this. Project Blowed won me over when I first heard them on the NFL 2k5 soundtrack. Coming from Alaska to California early 90's the only reference point I had was Snoop and Dre. I'm so glad you're still lighting up the stages.
I don't like to back to back comment, but I just want to say that I super geek TF out over this kind of stuff, and that's an understatement. Thanks to OME for this platform, and shout to AB for the history...
HIGHLY recommend Myka 9's new book 'My Kaleidescope' for some more dope LA Underground history. Open Mike even had Myka on the podcast a couple months ago to talk about it. Highly recommend that episode as well
I first heard Ace circa 95 on the 10 o’clock bomb (later wake-up show) KMEL… Then a year or two later when it was Freestyle Fellowship vs. Wu-Tang and Common freestyle battle. Glad to have met Ab with Tribe Unique in 98 doing a show with us at KSJS… Shouts to DJ Manabees! .. Happy to know Megabusive is working with the Blowedians now.
Great interview! Ab rude won me over at a live performance when he opened for Blackalicious in 2000. I wasn't much of a fan before though I recognized the talent. But that performance he put on was one of the best I had ever seen. I was blown away!
One time i just randomly poked into a bar in Bozeman MT. And Ab just happen to be doing a show there. The greastest suprise ever. I lit up the back stage room with a jay. Probably wasnt the safest spot but it panned out. Ja bless ya Abstract. See you in thr spirit world.
