Showing us very little of Jackie, in the context of dying of cancer and memories like Christmas, is WHY his character works the way he does in the show. He's idealized in the same way a guy like Chrissy can idolize a dad that died when he was young. He's shown through a lens of nostalgia to contrast Tony, in Tony's own mind, an ideal he can't measure up to.
Extremely insightful comment. In fact had Jackie lived one wonders if Tony would have remained his friend, or if the greed and powerlust we saw in later seasons would have come out and pushed the two of them to go to war with one another.
@@patrickflanagan3762an alternative timeline with Jackie Sr as long-reigning boss would definitely get ugly. He was too normal and awesome. Things ran smoothly when Jackie was in charge. Tony was the opposite kind of character which made for more interesting story
People keep wishing that Jackie stayed around longer in the first few seasons but his death was extremely important to the rest of the story of the show, without Jackie gone most of the decisions Tony made as boss wouldn’t have happened since Jackie wasn’t ruled by his emotions. Of course if Borko was boss it would be a different story.
That's true for Chris, but Jackie Jr. in the flashback is a different actor. In fact, he's the real-life younger brother of the guy who played Jackie Jr.
My favourite part of the flashback sequences is seeing how Tony held himself differently before he was boss. Hands in pockets, leaning against fences and walls, being asked to assist in completing tasks. You can tell just in his body language he isn’t boss yet
He didn't want to be boss. He saw Jackie as a best friend and great leader. He even brokers peace between Jackie and Junior because he genuinely loves them both.

*Borko:* It'll never happen again. Hope nobody called RUclips though, I told them I was with you.
I loved Tony’s wig, I wish they woulda done more with that character.
Borko used to be the boss of the family.. then HBO moved on him
Stepped over his own uncle, his fawtha's brother....
@@specialagentorange4329 just to take the top uploader seat. Makes me sick
I like how in BB and Sopranos you know it’s a flashback when characters have more hair
Borko the uploads have been 10% lighter for a fuckin week now
Thank you Uncle Borko!
Ooooh! The mysterious stranger!
Jackie Aprile is awesome. Should have had more of him as boss in the show.
Phill would have been in this clip except he WAS DOING 20 YEARSSSS!!! 😂
And not a peep....
@@PhilLeotardosGhost If you could do me a favor? I need you to turn into a 2 story house and tell me to "Get off your Fuckin Stoop" 😆
Jacking off on the radyators...
Likewise Richie, but he was halfway through his lag, still waiting for a pleasant GFY from Beansie.
TIA, that’s a small stroke
@hboentertainment8059 I tell you to take a crap on the deck of the Queen Mary, an hour later they’re hosing it down with disinfectant
Just when i thought Borko was out..
Ohhhh there he is!
He he he
Junior enters the sit-down looking like a tough old school gangster, with the hat and long coat. But just let him open his mouth and he starts his usual complaining and the effect is totally spoiled.
Chaps too
@@1122reyes Nobody’s got AIDS !! I don’t ever want to hear that word in here again.
Idk… fucking slander ask me! 🤟🏽
This scene kinda breaks my heart for 30 reasons. Personal. Nostalgic. Serialized drama-wise(lol) and for some reason i feel like Tony was the happiest he ever was here with Jackie, puss, syl, Pauy a young innocent chrissy and the crew in a positive direction overall . And it was tainted knowing sal big pussy was working w the feds
A real tragedy, whatever happened there. Luckily his son Jackie Junior was groomed to take the reigns.
Can we get a 'marone/madonne' compilation uncle borko?
Mthfkr!!!Borko,he had his comments section wired during his Christmas video party, all kinds of sopranos channels went down after that.
I love how Christopher walked to drop the ashtray 😆
The look Tony gives Pus when he grabs the bottle of Johnny Walker, like "Geez, he's hitting the bottle pretty hard"
No sooner do I get back from Jalisco, Mexico and ESDLC clips, and Borko has uploaded a Sopranos flashback clip on his main chamnel… 4 minutes 27 seconds…no way I can skip it.
00:10 How can you smoke and eat at the same time? No wonder Jackie Sr. got stomach cancer.
3:42
Best part 😅😅😅
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Paulie's OOHHHH before the juke box smashes. Black magic shit!
When Tony pinches Sal’s ass, it’s a premonition if Sal getting pinched for H. One of the many shine box moments in the prograham.
A prequel series of an unmade Tony and Jackie working his way up to old man Demayo’s job would be great
Watching this on the day OJ died
Spider went from serving drinks to handing out ashtrays
What most people don’t realise is, Jackie Sr WAS the real boss, he only chose the title of “acting boss” out of respect for Ercole DiMeo. The only time someone actually “acted” as boss without actually being boss was when Junior was a figurehead for Tony
*Borko uploads nothing but El Senor de los Cielos clips for months
His subscribers: You better have a good excuse for why you're still alive
The skip earns good with his side hustle. He ain't running a popularity contest!
@@Rabsmyth91 I'm gonna go back and watch more sopranos clips. Exactly 10 minutes, I'm gonna look up, if Borko is uploading more ESDLC clips I'm gonna assume that he went to look for whatever the f*** it is that's calling him out there. If he's still uploading sopranos clips, then I'm gonna assume that he has no other desire in the world than to upload sopranos content, and his actions will show me that every second of every f***ing day
