I think, to me, the reason why I stopped enjoying New Horizons so quickly after it came out was the weird competition aspect of it online, especially during quarantine. But now that it has died down a good amount, this series made me feeling like picking it up again.
I didn't have online when it came out I have online now and it seems like no one want to trade like they will have things in their wishlist but for some reason they don't want it
I just recently picked it back up too, and it's making me sad that lots of the online stuff like the turnip exchange isn't as active as it once was.
i avoided most acnh content online for the first year or so of playing so i wouldn't get too much of that. and i'm glad i did lol. seems like a lot of people ruined it for themselves
and thats why I stopped playing for over an year and now restart ^^ I wanna build a cute vanilla island... not for the online community.. just my cute liddle island.. that has helped me alot with re-enjoying animal crossing ^^
I avoided all the competition and just made some friends and we all played and helped each other. It was honestly great. I had an awesome turnip price one day and I spent all day helping my friends get rich haha We'd wish for stars together, fished, traded stuff, and one friend made a maze for us to have fun in. I honestly miss it so much and it was kinda some of the most fun I've had in a game in years lol Now I wanna go check in on my islands I've ignored for the last couple years and go play too haha

The reason Vivian wasn't gone after you skipped 2 days is (I think) they don't want you to miss their move out/in boxes date. So even if you skip a week or more, the day you open your game again, the villager will be there still- kind of a nice touch, but irritating if you're tryna move quick.

I love how much you love decorating in this game. As a person who's played the older titles, being able to decorate outside is my favorite part of this game.
Yeah, there are so many items in the old games that are literally designed to be outdoor furniture and don't make sense indoors at all. If I could add one thing to the old titles it would be that.
@@bandannadoo You just brought back a rush of memories of my dedicating rooms in my maxed out house to mimicking the outside because I couldn't do anything else with that sort of furniture. But totally agree, I love the old games but I would have a ton more fun going back to them if they had the outdoor decorating feature.

Bud is one of my favorites- I worked at a camp with someone who’s nickname was Bud, he lead the outdoor adventure groups and was super into it all. He passed away a few yrs ago, so when Bud showed up on my island- he was staying! That you called him a wilderness trainer got me right in the feels. ❤❤❤

Nah I totally get that, considering how laid-back the streams are and how AC is already a chill game it totally makes sense

I actually did have my wedding over Zoom during COVID! Today is our 3rd anniversary, funnily enough. We chose to have a courthouse ceremony and expected it to be pretty meh but it was lovely. The judge had a little short speech prepared about love and commitment and sharing a life with someone and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised. It was just us and our cat at home - our families and friends joined over Zoom. We met online as well so it felt like it came full circle and we don't regret anything

I stumbled upon this series yesterday and literally started playing while watching. I finally felt motivated to "renovate" my island. I had it in this weird mid-stage where I had some ideas on how to decorate but the willager houses were all over the place, and only a few areas were nice.
I love this series a lot
We need to get this man the DLC his life would be so much easier

I love how this guy takes all the ugly villagers and despises the popular ones
I finally understand why Zipper comes off as so creepy, it’s the five nights at Freddy’s vibes for me
I think part of it is that like, in previous games Zipper is super cynical and blatantly doesn't like the event. but it seems to me like in New Horizons they dulled that a fair bit, so he has this unadulterated creepy over the top enthusiasm
This game is so fun! I have 750 hours and I still enjoy playing it!

There's Island Deco, Interior Deco, Villager Hunt, if you have HHP then you'll have a way to Decorate your villager's houses as well, Trading, interacting with the community like helping newbies...
I can list more but these are the most feasible tasks you can do...

Hey Therm, idk if you have the DLC, but that is probably the easiest way to unlock a lot of different types of furniture!
Therm, your opinions on AC are very different to mine, but that's okay. Things like terraforming and accent walls allow me to more greatly express my creativity when creating my perfect island, but I can certainly understand where you're coming from on your takes on them. I just wanted to say, thank you for sticking to your guns. Just because everybody does things one way, doesn't mean you have to as well. After all, AC, and especially New Horizons, is all about crafting your own little town, in your own way.
And also about crippling debt and capitalism but uh
Y'know, mostly the community thing.
I'm glad you gave this game a chance, and happy you're enjoying it so much! NH was my first AC game as well, and when I bought it, I thought I'd play it now and then, but never knew just how much I'd come to enjoy it. Always nice to see more people joining our cozy little community!

Just a little tip, you don't have to enter a home to know who lives there, you can just click at the sign on the front, left side, of their house and it will say who lives there

I would say it is so worth your money! I have a switch light and it is so fun!! Definitely consider it!
Definitely when you can afford it, get it! I had a Switch Lite for a year but I decided to upgrade to the Switch Oled recently and even though the Switch is super expensive, it's REALLY worth the money.

Funny story because you mentioned it, I actually officiated my friend's wedding in 2021 and some of their family members watched via Zoom because it was in their small apartment and only closest friends and family members could fit into their living room for the "reception"
