Also use your right mirror when blind side backing you can adjust to make sure you are clear. Some trucks have a big window in the sleeper that was always my cheat guide when ever blind side backing in
Great channel! Best backing tutorials on RUclips 😃 I'm returning to tractor trailers after 4 years in class b truck so watching your channel is extremely helpful
Been to this stop recently as a new driver. Was so unbelievable to me that whoever designed their lot designed them all as angled blind backs! Really enjoying your videos and really helping cement in my head why things are done certain ways. Thanks for all your time and effort!
That setup turns a potential hazardous blind side into dead on straight back. That's great. I pay attention to your tandem axles when you turn. I think that is key right there.
Wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago. I was at a supplier with this type of dock setup. Took me almost 10 minutes to get it in.(I’m a new driver, so don’t laugh too hard) 😂 persistence pays off, I did it.
Nice I always wondered why some spots are angle like this and now I see it's because they want you to pull in. It's a TA off I80 exit 4 in NJ that has this same setup 👌🏽
At jubitz it is because of the shape of the parking lot. I actually tried lining them up on paper for sight side backing, the would lose around 20 spots. I think it is coincidence that it works better to pull in instead of backing in.
IF and WHEN one has learned to setup for a backing regardless of it being a driver's side or what's referred to as a blind side backing manover, correctly. The only difference between doing either; Is the distance one has to view between the driver's mirrror and the passenger's mirror. Ok, the view is enitirely the opposite, but to that degree, is the only difference. Just as backing a trailer in general, require's one to steer in the opposit direction of a single unit vs a double unit. One simply has to take into consideration, though the view seem's backward, the process is exactly the same.
Your demo assumes that all of the other trucks are parked perfectly and correctly (not in the real world). Even if you get out and look around the truck by the time you get back in your truck, release the brakes, put it in gear, double check your mirrors, then finally start backing out of the spot,,,, you have no visual, you don't know if a hotrod is driving through behind you, you assume they stop in time for you to complete your maneuver. Those are 'some' of the main issues and why it is a bad idea to pull into a space. Alot of truckers are not very considerate and are impatient.
There's also the fact that the steering is entirely in the tractor. That means you can't start to turn until your trailer is more than all the way out of the space unless the space to your right is empty.
Hello my friend. Recently discovered your channel. Just wanted to thank you for doing what you do. P.S. Love the accent, makes my Philly accent sound like a peasant, LOL !!!
can you believe they are making automated trucks to take our jobs, that's my biggest problem here. One crazy guy was talking about start attacking the automated trucks. so crazy
It actually makes sense if you look at the shape of the lot and plan on everyone pulling straigh in to a spot. The problem is that the spaces are too close together. There is not much room with 2 trucks parked on either side of an emty spot.
It is a good concept but not thought through. They were intnded as pull in spots, but they didn't leave room to get in and out easily. So everyone either pulls through or backs in.
If only it were as simple as it looks. I have descended and checked the back 3 times so far. LoL
I feel a lot better. That last setup is how I always back into an angled spot like that. Cool. Thanks.
Love the lessons . very simple and showing the steering wheel is awesome . i m a new driver and i learn very clearly from this 👍

Excellent teacher
If we had this type of view in real life. Backing will be a pice of cake.
Genius knowledge
Much more appreciated sir. U r a very good and genius trainer
Love that place.
Man I need you as my trainer!
Never pull into a spot unless you can pull into the spot in front because if truck breaks down your gonna have a hell of a time getting it out lol

Well done and informative! Thanks! 👍🇺🇲

Can't wait for the app... and you teach so much and break it down so simple
Most Petro’s are the same way.
Petro Las Vegas for example, look at it.

Alot of TA have this layout.
Holy shit dude I’ve been there! It’s huge. I didn’t have to back in. I just pulled in.
I was thinking the same, if plenty spaces why not just pull in avoiding trouble
Thank you very much for this video
i'm here right now. these spots are soooo skinny is rediculous.
Eres el mejor!

There is the slight matter of the loss of extra field of view on the passenger side due to not being able to stick your head out of the window.
Thanks!
They designed it for everyone to drive in forward, with the truck behind backing out.
Ya, I think you are right. But, nobody knows that. That's what makes it flawed.
Awesome
Amazing work. Good job!
Petition for them to repaint the lines
I try to blind side every chance I get so it doesn’t sneak up on me when I least expect it in a tight situation.
🙏🙏🙏🙏

I think pulling in is best
I think you are right
can you believe they are making automated trucks to take our jobs, that's my biggest problem here. One crazy guy was talking about start attacking the automated trucks. so crazy
The designer of this truck parking lot is a fool. They certainly can't drive a truck

Sure makes one wonder why they didn’t paint the lines the other way.
I’m new to trucking I’m doing a 45 and I’m jackknife in the hole, I need help to correct so I can do a straight back
If you're intermodal you better not get caught pulling into a space. The Railroad will ban you.
👏👏👏👏👏👏🏆
When you open your school?😂
I had the same question school that teaches real word parking..
This is not a school. I'm just one person with computer who is a company driver.
How would you do it with a 48' flatbed with 60' rebar loaded?
Very carefully
Is that the one in Portland? I pull through if able
Ya. That's what they were meant for drivers to do. But most don't.
It is a good concept but not thought through. They were intnded as pull in spots, but they didn't leave room to get in and out easily. So everyone either pulls through or backs in.
I hate truck stops with angle parking! Lol a lot of their spots are blindside
What is the name of this game/app that he is using for the demos?
What program is used here, I need it!
My Trucking Skills the game
Where is this truck stop located?? In Washington??
Portland OR
Are you from Portland?
Yes
@@MyTruckingSkills I live in Grants Pass.
Si vous pouvez traduire en français svp thank you❤
Is this an actual game bc if so what’s the name of it
It is, it will be coming out in the near future.
Who ever repainted the lines at jubitz must be blind as the lines are so crooked it's not funny.
Poor design because they don't use real truckers to design them
