- If you're traveling to Berlin and landing at the BER airport, you'll need to find a way to get to the city center. Fortunately, there are several public transportation options available, including the FEX (Flughafen-Express) train.
The FEX is a convenient and affordable option for getting from the airport to the city center. It departs from the airport every 30 minutes and takes 40 minutes to reach Berlin's main train station, Hauptbahnhof. From there, you can easily transfer to other trains, buses, or trams to get to your final destination.
In addition to the FEX, there are also several other train and bus options available, including the S-Bahn, RE (Regional-Express), and RB (Regionalbahn) trains, as well as buses. These options may take a bit longer (not all), but they also provide access to other areas of the city beyond the main train station.
No matter which public transportation option you choose, it's important to make sure you have a valid ticket. You can purchase tickets at the airport or at any train or bus station in the city. Remember to validate your ticket before boarding the train or bus, as there are fines for riding without a valid ticket.
In conclusion, while taxis and private transfers may be tempting, public transportation is a convenient and affordable way to get from the Berlin airport to the city center. With options like the FEX and S-Bahn, you can easily reach your destination and start exploring all that Berlin has to offer.

Fantastic video with great detail
Thank you so much 😁😎
FEX passes through quite a lot scenic areas too. Especially the part right after Ostkreuz in direction to the airport is awesome.
Excellent video with great information. Very Well explained

Can I take the FEX train from Airport to Alexanderplatz, with an ABC ticket bought on the BVG app?
Was ist an den Doppelstockwagen outdated?
Will the Deutschland ticket work on the FEX train?
Yes 100 % valid
If I am staying in Alexanderplarz, is this the best train to catch?
Nein. Zwischen Alexanderplatz und Flughafen verkehren die RE8 und der RB23 direkt. Das sind derzeit die besten Verbindungen auf dieser Relation.
Depends on timing. I've twice caught the FEX to hbf then the U5 back to Akexandwrplatz but I know my way around hbf. You can also take the S9 from the Airport to Alexanderplatz direct, but about 10 to 15 minutes longer as it makes many stops
Where or how do you validate your ticket?
Hi, it depends. Online tickets don't need to be validated. Just have them ready for the ticket check in the train. Some paper tickets (such as 4-ride tickets) must be validated. There are small validators on the platform for this purpose.
@@Reens-Rails Thank you!
What is the aap name please 😊
DBnavigator or for the Berlin area, the BVG or Jelby apps
A video how to get from Berlin to ex Munich
Thanks for the feedback. Munich - Berlin may be on my shot list for oct.
@@Reens-Rails great
You think the FEX trains are run down and out dated ? You need to travel in the UK, the trains are absolute shitheaps
I think they wanted to match the trains to Berlin 🤣
Indeed. The FEX carriages are better than UK first class; more spacious, more comfortable and brighter/more airy
