Dude really! Who uses programmers lmao?? I think the only time I did was to open one of those drops lol. I do kinda like the unique landmark outpost in cascade hills. Other than that I'm really only partly impressed by them and think they are on the weak side. The one in maegher valley is useless :(
The +6 food is nice but not at the cost of 2000 influence, required skill , and 10 materials… Materials already tight in lethal and id rather save that 10 for building stuff. If your base is already built the way you need it and your influence is still maxed would be the only way id take a Level 3 but at that point im usually already done with the map and ready to move to the next 👍
Not on Lethal lol and 2000 is way too much, i don’t mind 800 but to go from 800 to 2000 is ridiculous. Ferals give 10 influence on lethal , Juggernauts 25, and Plague Hearts 75… so if you killed 30 thats still not enough for 1 level 3 outpost that pretty ridiculous lol
Exactly 👍 Again Im not against the Idea I just think poor implementation, I like upgraded outposts I just think they need reasonable adjustments I think 300, 600, 900 would have been reasonable and removing the needed skill, there was no need for that lol If they did that then they would be great… If they added a small passive skill even better.. But the Landmarks honestly I think are terrible an over priced outpost that really doesn’t provide anything good or unique, at the very least we should have been able to drop rucksacks there or they should have been heartland facilities they have used basically every asset from heartland already lol. I cant believe people don’t realize the plague territory is a Plague Wall junk version, the plague walls did exactly this anything in its area you could not take over but at least the buildings had plague so it made sense… Little red smoke and now we can take over any buildings lol
Dont underestimate the small morale boost on church, it's 10. 4 bed is nothing to scoff at either. It also has good actions. It's basically a more better version of a lounge, but take an outpost slot instead of big slot on your base.
I'm glad you made this video because I have to clear 5 hearts to get the hospital landmark. Now I know not to bother. The level 3 outposts are better than these.
I think in my opinion they should have just put a passive on a level 3 outpost and get rid of these landmark ones… I also think the prices should be reduce, 300 to 600 to 900 it should simply double in influence each time because thats basically what the outpost does give you 1 then 2 then 3 of said resource… Paying 3100 to fully upgrade 1 outpost is beyond ridiculous plus it requires a skill i cant believe they green lit that … Cause even 300 - 600 - 900 still costs 1800 to fully upgrade I think the people in the beta that were complaining the prices were too low were obviously not considering the full price it takes to fully upgrade 1. It not like you could say ill skip option Level 1 and 2 and simply buy the level 3 upgrade you have to purchase all 3 levels.
@@mattskx absolutely. Even for my current community that I started recently, I only did lvl 2 for two food outposts but isn't the income doubled on lethal?. Im still -4 food with 6 survivors and it only served to get them to quit bitching about the food cost. I was going to hit the hospital because it said passive injury recovery or whatever it said and it seemed great but now I don't want to waste influence. I can only see these all working when you start with fresh random survivors and don't have the builder perk too since it makes the windmill completely useless and sometimes its hard to max agriculture since most of the facilities for it can only be used maybe once an hour, now you can use the books but even if you plan a long community, the book wouldn't even matter anyways since you have time to waste. Even the staging area-like landmark is useless to a community with recycling or some other materials income skill, since one of my guys has recycling and the workshop has materials income, my community doesn't even need a staging area. And forget getting any usefulness out of these if a player only uses red talon members with resource incomes. (Everything set to lethal)
Yeah I dont get it, the landmarks dont do anything special there nothing you either cant already build a facility to do and some even the most basic facility mods are better…. You cant even drop over ruck sacks there, like what is so special about them that you cant already do? Just giving up a base slot for an outpost slot but a landmark outpost is worse lol Since the bonuses are so low should have just added them all into 1 , like the hospital give +10 health, +%10 injury severity, and +30 plague resistance… all of these things are so bottom tier values should have just grouped them together, I would have preferred an option that gave 1 free plague cure a day something useful or 1 plague cure and 1 med kit… So Underwhelming …
@@mattskx right. Wasn't that the reason for beta though? Did not a single person tell them they were useless? Even the church guard action is only 16minutes lol. If they wanted to make something useful they should of buffed the guard tower facility. Any difficulty higher than standard makes it useless garbage too. Even then it's a glorified horde patrol killer
Yeah I think the people they took advice from were just focused on making the game harder not more enjoyable, and the prices I have no idea how anyone thought that was a good idea considering you still have to pay 300 to get the outpost and another 800 to get to level 2 lol
Hey Matt How ya been? Haven't commented in a long while, but still here, still watch & 👍 lol. Also, haven't played SoD2 in quite a while, came back for the update. Only played a few hours. Not impressed. 100% agree on the outpost bs. It's the beta testers that told UL this is what they like. UL had the outpost costs a lot lower the beta testers "needs to cost more". When probably 90+% of players are using game pass to play, were not even involved in any decisions, only those who purchased on steam (what 2 years later? What about the players for the last 2 years?) got any say in the update. I get that steam is the only platform with a beta test branch, but UL needs to consider everyone when they are making changes that affect everyone. I purchased the game in early May 2018 on the windows store, why would I buy it on steam, too? Well, I did, but I didn't participate in the beta, they never listen to the little people like me. That's why I use the community editor or make my own mods, I take an auto shop as an outpost, hey guess what? It's an auto shop. I take a house as an outpost, it has +100 storage (can't tell me a 2 bedroom house w/a garage can't hold 100 of every supply). If it's a house with a garden/farm, yep, it's a garden/farm. Like I always say, UL only knows how to make the game more frustrating.
Then UL should have went with thier gut casue 2000 for an upgrade while requiring a skill and 10 materials not worth. level 2 is barely worth and the landmarks are trash can do anything the do and better with a basic facility and mod
@Sweet “What in the Goddamn?” Tea Changing a house into a garden can be done in the community editor. Just select the house outpost and change it to a garden or a farm, add a compost bin etc. From the outpost menu you can add seeds or use the compost bin instead of selecting the garden in the base.
I think on lethal food out posts double the food production .. not near to double check Till tomorrow , but I needed a lil extra food and a drop spot I thought it was 2 and 4
Yeah they did that to the food it was 1.5 food a day, so they bumped it at level 3 you get +6 rood, +4 food level 2 and +2 food just for starting lethal mode.
Funny thing there is a plane model (a small plane) and a walking dead type car model (Mobile Rv) in the game just not finished… maybe they were thinking fast travel and a mobile supply locker with the RV ? if not that would be my idea or using the plane to maybe come to your location for “X” amount of influence to pick up rucksacks or anything and take back to your base… I should be on the creative team lol
@@mattskx That's truee. That can be useful instead of this outpost update. I also want the ability to shoot while driving cars, I am not sure why you can't do that in SoD2 but you can do that in PUBG.
You mean the outfit? These are OG red talons that you used to be able to get from the “Weapons for all mission” Before UL removed red talons from that enclave. Now the only way to get one is to play DayBreak and call in the Red Talon Soldier instead of the Red Talon Operator and you get the cool original Red Talons in their original outfits 👍
I don't mind that they are all different. I don't expect to see the empire state building at miami beach. In fact I wish the maps had even bigger differences overall than topography. I would imagine a zombie apocalypse would play out different in mississippi and siberia
If they provided good things then unique is cool but the way they did it id rather then all be like providence, 1 is a staging area and 1 a power outpost (which we had already) the landmarks are terrible in my opinion.
The game is about challenges and balance. You gain one thing but sacrifice another. They also know gaining influence is very easy and they want you to spend it instead of saving it. It means you’re more interactive with your game. But I agree, they could have done better.
Gaining Influence is easy on lower difficulties only, on lethal even if you kill all 30 plague hearts thats not enough for 1 level 3 outpost. I guarantee nobody uses these on the higher difficulty level the price is too much more than a base. Can spend what we don’t have lol Lethal + Nightmare need to go back to giving us more influence like it used to we shouldn’t get less influence for killing things on harder difficulty that backwards, they had it right the 1st time.. But they are good ideas just implemented bad, the landmarks are just super not important i dont even use them.
I think the only outpost I like is the food outpost. Just pay 5 material and 800 influence, and I will get +4 food. Can get +6 if I pay more. Now I don't need to build garden in my base.
I do like level 2 outposts those even though I dont agree on the high influence costs (especially on Lethal) I do find level 2 outposts useful even in non permanent communities… I just think they need to drop the costs and the required skill for level 3 and also increase the total influence cap so people could actually get all these outposts and not have to worry about switching maps and all that influence out the window.
@@mattskx Actually, I having lvl 3 outpost in permanent community. Its easy to earn influence mid game if you got a good game plan. Selling strong painkiller is the easiest, it allow max influence in just 4~5days .
They can be useful depending on your setup. Im on lethal providence ridge fire station with amenities boon. Tbh the landmark outpost is actually pretty useless to me. I do like the lvl 3 outposts. Im generating a constant influence income by have a trade depot, a still and a large farm and a huge amount of food and medicine income to craft ethanol and strong painkillers.
Not saying they cant be useful but whats the point especially on lethal? All the plague hearts should be killed you should be onto the next map by the time you would even have enough influence to purchase 1 - level 3 outpost and if you waste it on level 3 outposts you wont get any of it back when you do switch maps … Now if the influence cap was raised past 9999 they would be little more useful cause then if you invested in them you would get that influence back but until then they are a waste of influence IMO.
@@phatdog im not saying there’s anything wrong with it. And it’s not a complaint either. All im saying is that I don’t have a lot of use for it for my particular set up. Could be more useful to someone else with a different set up.
If I have the container fort and dudes that have +influence a day hero bonuses, I use it to mitigate the container forts expensive materials costs. Frees up a large slot for something cool. Particularly if you have some leader only buildings like lounge 3 or shooting range 2. Otherwise I agree with you.
@@timmercado7020 same here I use container fort but I use labor for the landmark bc one of my guys gives me +2-3 labor so I'm not really spending anything to use it so it makes it worth while especially now that I have that free large slot for whatever that I usually put a staging area in
Yeah they upped the prestige cap to 99,999 like 5 patches back I think, but influence is still capped at 9999 they need to raise that especially with the increased costs of the upgradable outposts.
The Hope Church is useless, The Plague center on Trumbull is useless, The Windfarm is good (if u dont have the bounty done) just not in a active spot its in a drive by location since aint shit in that area really, The hospital idk what it does never had a chance to visit since the update & I cant remember what the last one is probably useless tho. 😆
Yeah I dont understand why they made them they like this I would have rather them be like a mini base that you could park 1 car at , it took 1 facility mod, and also was a 2nd drop point for rucksacks… Would have been much more useful and they were standardized like every maps landmark had the same options… Id like combos like Option 1 (2 food + 2 meds) , Option 2 (2 fuel + 2 ammo ) , Option 3 (1 of all five things) then depending on what option you picked determined what mod you could use or even just gave them a mini passives if no mod… So much they could have done with this to make them awesome. I honestly prefer a food level 2 over this especially on lethal.
It just doesnt make sense and they seem to keep increasing the cost of things look at the trifecta pack ridiculously priced also lol They are going to have to make a new 5th skill just for influence gaining… I know the tough negotiator is a good influence booster hero bonus … I know there is a 5th one but its small like 10% maybe i forget lol
Landmarks are kind of lame lol +10 Max Health is a Hero Bonus one wouldn't really take unless that Survivor has the best rolled Traits. Landmarks should be really giving passives or bonuses that would otherwise have no way access to, and I'm not saying giving you access to dual Community Skills lol but something that we normally can't get, making them special, and what that is? Idk, just something new and beneficial. The Level 3 Outposts costs a lot and the +3 Resource is good, but only when you are starting on a fresh community, imo, because you need to cut away the expense of resource cost (namely food), but the cost is so expensive for early game, it's ridiculous and once you get mid-late game, you don't really need it anymore really. I feel that the gap between newer players and experienced players is what keeps holding the game back from evolving into something better (and speaking for SoD3 as well). These changes seems good for the "not-so-good survivors" but to a "veteran survivor" they don't mean much and not just veterans, but the overall gameplay doesn't feel like they play off of each other well enough. Using Labor, but your survivors are still at home protecting the base, Labor has no real upkeep, it's just there and it's already bad enough that once you get 7+ survivors, the other remaining just phase in and out lol. Parts, are scarce at first, but once you start killing PHs and salvage the guns, you get plenty, and everyone is going to keep a handy Salvage Furnace on hand and SHOULD be salvaging not used weapons. Influence is probably why UL created the LVL 3 Outposts and Landmarks to begin with as to mass dump overflowing Influence. Facilities, imo, are the culprit to all of this.
Problem is they never increase the influence cap, so these outposts are useless say you take over 5 of them at 3100 influence a pop and a landmark at 1000 you move into the big base 3500… Then you switch maps all that influence down the drain, and now have to spend all the influence but you cant cause now the big base is in a plague territory… If you stay on 1 map forever it probably cool anything else its useless lol Especially for vets as you mentioned that like to get stuff done and move map to map.
Personally I would rather have an autoshop like big daddy auto repair or something that just does passive auto repair to cars in a parking space everyday as the landmark instead of the windmill. If you must have a negative, then make it cost the same as repair kits or cost a repair kit daily. It *might* be useful that way and everyone has already been asking for it
You should be saving up for a better base , if your saving the beginning influence up (which is not even 1000 unless you are maybe playing the tutorial on lethal) from a fresh start on lethal with random survivors and you want to spend that on a landmark knock yourself out but it is a waste of influence as they don’t provide anything really great. Id rather a level 2 food outpost on lethal than a landmark much more useful. You will also have to kill 2-3 plague hearts just to clear it out also not a good idea for something that provides very little benefit wise. If you are starting lethal with the trader boon and legacy survivors then can do that but you still should get a better base especially if your on the trumbell valley map its definitely not worth 1000 especially on lethal.
@@mattskx I'm not talking about the first hour, I'm talking about an hour at a later stage in the game, when you leave the starter base for a bigger one, that's the moment where food outposts are no longer necessary, investing in a landmark outpost at that moment is more interesting, as long as there is less plague hearts surrounding the landmark outpost then there is surrounding the next base your planning to move to.
Also unrelated to this video but im using the halo 5 special edition xbox one and I've gotten a ton use out of it. When I go deep into plague territory, I get no frames.
I am on the original Day One Xbox , so I do get little bit of frame rates here and there but its mostly when they over spawn or spawn huge groups for me usually happens in areas where there are multiple plague hearts like they love to do in the small shopping strips where 3 of the 4 stores have a heart lol
@@mattskx I feel it man, the map I'm on is like 8 hearts by the strip mall and basically the rest near the broker. I cant even go there anymore since they added the heavier plague smog
lol I dont know what it is with the strip malls on lethal always having 3 to all stores with hearts . Maybe its easier for the system to generate them that close they share spawns im guessing.
@@mattskx oh I meant the large base. But yeah those 3 to 4 buildings always have like 4 hearts if you aren't lucky enough to get them stacking on you. I think I heard somewhere they changed the heart spawns to spawn more likely in high populated areas.
I would like complete random plague hearts I would love to see trailer park plague hearts, food stands, but because so many people stand on their cars to cheese or take an outpost next to a plague heart (which is what caused them to do this) …. Its a simple fix allow ferals and zombies to climb cars I mean they can climb everything else aside from ladders but they can’t climb a car lol Then there would be no need for plague territories.
They are meant to be “Good” as they offer things no other outposts do, they problem is as you just said they are NOT good at all , cool idea terrible implementation . Of course they shouldn’t be OP but they should be a clear choice over all other outposts and they simply are not. They boasted about how great these things were gonna be and they are terrible.
You could be right but remember 5 is only if someone has knowledge of the arts which is a rare skill, and you will have -10 morale almost always because of the threat level in level is always high so the +10 you get from having the new hope you lose its -10 for high zombie threat so that a wash… you can get +5 from the take a break thing and +3 for selecting this feature so you can get +18 all the time only with knowledge of the arts thats you would only get the extra plus +10 with a low to zero threat level which usually isnt possible on lethal as its always noisy without anything. A lounge with an XBOX much better, hell i could make a luxury barracks with a white noise machine and get 5 beds and +25 morale which is way better than this also.
@@mattskx but you're wrong if you're using the +4 beds strategy... That ammount of beds is trash on this outpost, because you get the morale penalty with noise... You should always use the moral option, you wouldn't have the morale penalty with noise, and get an extra option that gives you a temporary extra bed and +15 moral. Never use Beds or Fortress strategy with new hope church
@@mattskx tbh with you, if you destroy the solar pannel and build up a sniper tower instead and get a power outpost, that way it gives you -6 threat reduction and -6 threat reduction if you use ammo for an hour. so in total -12 reduction which should lower your threat lvl quiet a bit. other then that get rite of the gas outpost and get an ammo outpost so you would get +1 ammo if you get it to lvl3 if you would build a sniper tower in your base. i mean you get fuel rucksacks pretty easy on this map
@Joa no the Luxury Bed give you 5 beds and +5 moral, you add a white noise machine it gives another +10 morale you are thing or the basic 4 bunk barrage beds nots the luxury
Sunny I never use sniper tower not needed waste of space and ammo , only time they are ever used is during a siege and the zombies usually run up the ramps. The red talon sniper is atleast a small spot , but i rarely ever put a sniper tower better off with a lounge and staging area
Some good points, but so angry… I mean the devs listen so maybe give solutions instead of just slamming what they worked on. The concept is amazing and I love it but it isn’t perfect. they are moving in the right direction though so stop breeding resentment.
what do you mean i gave solutions? lower the prices on the outposts remove the skill requirements, make the landmarks actually landmarks and not recycled facility mods but worse why would they make a staging area landmark or a power landmark makes no sense both terrible ideas and the price of 3000 a fully upgraded outpost plus you need a skill is a joke nobody uses them past level 2 because if you move maps you will never get any of that influence back you could kill all 28 plague hearts on a lethal map and still not have enough influence to earn 1 level 3 outpost on lethal such a joke. I said good idea but terrible implementation and i gave reasons what in my opinion should be changed to make them useful i guess you didnt listen lol

The higher up you move in a company the more stressful and political it gets… But Traffic lol I love driving… Now if while I was driving random animals were spawning 1 foot in front of my car ever 5 mins yeah id be pissed lol Thats why driving in this game is so annoying the instant spawns of BS … The entire spawn system in this game is the worst spawn system in the history of gaming they dont even try to try and be slick anymore by spawning zombies from around corners they literally spawn them in front of your face or dropped them on your head they just dont care its trash …
I really don’t see the problem here? Yeah the power one is terrible but don’t use it then? 4 beds but minus morale? That’s literally a warlord barracks and you have tons of morale to spare lmao. If you don’t like it they all tend to have a passive positive feature. They’re there as another optional outpost like the artillery outpost. But I guess you complain that it uses too much influence when you could just use grenades too 😂 I like them, it adds a nice little additional gimmick for outposts while we wait for State of Decay 3 you guys really shouldn’t be expecting huge game changing features considering this is all free content that an extremely small team is working on while the others make the next instalment lol
Because they hype up these nonsense changes when they should be fixing and stabilizing the game not making over priced useless outposts nobody wanted or uses and lights for enclave bases lol I guess you like playing broken games packed with fluff lol I want a stable game they can save the gimmicky nonsense all it does is further introduce bugs to a bug riddled game.

Keeping it real, State of Decay is hella easy, the level 3 outposts. Look how annoyed you are at a horde showing up @10:10 - they pose no threat, only annoyance. That is the problem of this game, not the outposts that give you something to spend your influence on
Not sure what your point is? Lethal Mode if you killed all 30 Plague Hearts wouldn’t be enough to buy 1 Level 3 outpost never mind a base and a landmark.
Yeah Sam the CE is the best thing released for SOD2 lol And its not even from UL lol
I wish they gave the option to teleport across the map because that is SO MUCH BETTER.
Something heck even rucksack drop offs would be nice or 1 car parking spot…
@@mattskx Or even a chopper! I want to lay waste zombies with a heli!
I also want the ability to shoot while driving cars, I am not sure why you can't do that in SoD2 but you can do that in PUBG.
what is that armor that your people have? looks cool!
@@mattskx nice! have to try that one day!
Hay great vid man I’ve only recently started playing sod 2 does enyone els get really bad lag when going in to plague territory
for me it can get laggy when theres multiple plague hearts all close together and they are spawning huge amounts of zombies.
@@mattskx ya that’s it I thought it was something in the settings or my Xbox I turned of Motion blur it kinda helped 😷
oh yeah i heard that helps good tip 👍
@@mattskx i agree the influence cap is ridiculous. It should be something like 25k now that we can spend a lot more influence than we used to
What’s wrong with extra beds or a literal large sniper tower as an outpost? Ya’ll complain about anything 😅
@@phatdog im not saying there’s anything wrong with it. And it’s not a complaint either. All im saying is that I don’t have a lot of use for it for my particular set up. Could be more useful to someone else with a different set up.
The matirial upkeep landmark one is the most stupid one though
Imagin giving away 50 parts daily to this bs or even anything really
If I have the container fort and dudes that have +influence a day hero bonuses, I use it to mitigate the container forts expensive materials costs. Frees up a large slot for something cool. Particularly if you have some leader only buildings like lounge 3 or shooting range 2. Otherwise I agree with you.
@@timmercado7020 it has some uses of course but in very limited and specific strategies as you mentioned
@@Abdu_401 we are agreed bro. The unique outposts are kinda silly unless very specific circumstances are considered.
@@timmercado7020 same here I use container fort but I use labor for the landmark bc one of my guys gives me +2-3 labor so I'm not really spending anything to use it so it makes it worth while especially now that I have that free large slot for whatever that I usually put a staging area in
I'm definitely 100 percent in agreement no on the third level outpost...
Prestige caps at 100,000 I thought it was only 10,000.
Yeah they upped the prestige cap to 99,999 like 5 patches back I think, but influence is still capped at 9999 they need to raise that especially with the increased costs of the upgradable outposts.
The Hope Church is useless, The Plague center on Trumbull is useless,
The Windfarm is good (if u dont have the bounty done) just not in a active spot its in a drive by location since aint shit in that area really, The hospital idk what it does never had a chance to visit since the update & I cant remember what the last one is probably useless tho.
I find that it is cheaper and you get more resources from 2 level 2 outposts instead of 1 level 3.
I agree 👍😀🏆
I agree with the cap issue
It *might* be useful that way and everyone has already been asking for it
Landmarks outposts aren't expensive, they only cost 1000 influence, that's what you do in 1 hour of play on lethal.
They’re not exactly meant to be ‘good’ they’re meant to benefit you but not completely turn the tables with them being OP lmao
I thought you could get around 40 morale and a stamina boost when all options are activated at the New Hope Church. How's is that terrible?
Bro you in traffic or a highstress job would be interesting
lol I am in not only a super high stress job but its a lot of politics… I miss the days of being the low man on the totem pole..
@@mattskx YOU JUST HAD ME STRESSED OUT WHEN WATCHING YOUR VIEWS, ITS ALL GOOD KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
I really don’t see the problem here? Yeah the power one is terrible but don’t use it then? 4 beds but minus morale? That’s literally a warlord barracks and you have tons of morale to spare lmao. If you don’t like it they all tend to have a passive positive feature. They’re there as another optional outpost like the artillery outpost. But I guess you complain that it uses too much influence when you could just use grenades too 😂
I like them, it adds a nice little additional gimmick for outposts while we wait for State of Decay 3 you guys really shouldn’t be expecting huge game changing features considering this is all free content that an extremely small team is working on while the others make the next instalment lol
@@mattskx Its free content? Some of those outposts are pretty cool and obviously teasing whats to come with SoD3. The game is defs playable I've played far worst games lol. Not my fault you guys arnt easy to please who complain about free content lmao
@@mattskx Those Landmark outpost are worthless for the most part, I never use them as an outpost anymore. I was hoping they'd give me big benefits for having them as an outpost but nope.
Good points - my question is always whether the devs actually play the bloody game.
Not just this one, most of them sadly...
Geoffrey Card plays it every single day. Very entertaining. And he’s constantly noting bugs to work on and features that don’t work as intended, for his team to put on the fix list.
What's Up
Whats up 😀👍
Keeping it real, State of Decay is hella easy, the level 3 outposts.
If you don’t think thats a problem not sure what to tell you lol You cant earn enough influence to even buy these things unless your dragging Azz and not killing Plague Hearts for some reason maybe scared and just creating items all day … They are way over priced especially for Lethal mode , if anything im keeping it real lol and everyone else is jumping on ULs Azz for a garbage update lol I dont care about spending influence but its the price that doesnt match what is possible to earn on Lethal map… We had this same issue with Prestige before they finally reduced the price on the red talons and increased the prestige Cap because same as this everything costing prestige was over priced and with a cap of 9999 you bought 1 red talon and the workbench and 8hrs of prestige earning gone lol The influence cap needs to be increased and they need to either unnerf the lethal zone influence gain that they implemented or lower the price of this over priced junk lol
