    Fun Fact about Pioneer Park.
There is a volunteer group called The Friends of the Tanana Valley Railroad ( which I’m a member ) that restored a Steam locomotive ( Tanana Valley Railroad #1) which was built in 1899 and came up in 1905 to become the first steam locomotive in the interior of Alaska. We run the locomotive around the park on select days throughout the summer.

Adam, if you are going to be out in the cold for long periods of time, I recommend buying hand warmers to put in your gloves and/or boots. They'll keep your hand very warm when the cold gets through your winter gear. Not too sure if they sell them in Alaska or not, usually they are available at gas stations, hardware or grocery stores where Iive during this time of year. I'm really enjoying your vlogs in Alaska... Stay warm and keep enjoying the cold weather :)

The snow sparkling on the ground behind you while you were walking over to the snowman was beautiful 😊 Love the guy telling you to go down the slide lol and then laughing with you when he heard you laughing 😄 that was great lol. I know the ice sculptures were the main thing there, but I really liked that big wooden polar bear 😄
Enjoyed seeing the fossils too 😊 that hand-drawn map was pretty cool! Effie the mammoth really does look like that; just the head, shoulder and leg 😅 makes it look like she's emerging from somewhere. Absolutely amazing and a little sad at the same time. Another cool video 😊 hope you're having a nice evening and keeping warm!

He was very idealistic. Which is dangerous. Especially in that part of the country. I loved his spirit but wildly unprepared, and in that part of the country, it can and will kill you. The sad thing is he was ready to go home and the bridge that he had to cross to get back was right near his camp if he had a map and didn't eat those poisonous plants he would've survived. Into The Wild is a great movie, one of my favorites.

When I was in Nepal, we flew over Mt.Everest in a tourist plane - we saw it from above, too! I love seeing snow- capped mountains. Fun fact -some politician named Alaska’s tallest mountain My. MczKinley , even though. , McKinley never visited Alaska. Finally, common sense took hold and they renamed the mountain “Denali” which was its original native name, meaning “the high one” or “the great one”!

I used to be an Uber/Lyft driver. You really only make good money where you get the surge bonus from high demand so in areas with smaller towns/ lower demand many won't work because the base pay per ride just isn't great when you factor in gas & wear/tear on the veh. That makes it harder for riders to get a ride. Cabs or renting a car may be the way to go except I imagine those icy roads are pretty unsettling. Stay safe. Love this adventure for you!!

When I was a wee one my aunt (who lived deep in the Catskills mountains of NYS only had an outhouse. In the winter and snow and cold it was a challenge to use the toilet. A few years latter they put a real bathroom in the house and I was probably about 6 or so and what a relief to use it. Other than that I used a plastic urinal sitting on the floor beside the bed.

We went to a Salmon Bake (delicious!) in Pioneer Park, this brings back some great memories. LOVE your enthusiasm and awe! It is truly the most magnificent place I’ve ever seen, you have to experience it in person.

The Mecca Bar has a very cool bar. It's a mirrored curvy thing. And the place is locals. My friend and I met some very interesting people in there. We also the best taxi driver ever. He took us from the Mecca Bar to another bar, The Arctic Fox. He gave us his card and we called him at the end of our night and he took us back to where we were staying. Awesome experience.

This is so fun to watch because Adam is enjoying himself so much. The passion shows in going to places he’s never been verses repeats.

Enjoyed this one from the comfort of my home. Just burned out of cold weather...thanks for taking us there. Mom used to go to Alaska for a couple of months in the summer. It's not on my bucket list...😊

Wow, I’ve always enjoyed your adventures. But this brings back so many memories of our trip this summer. I was talking to somebody about the guy in the ice museum the other day. He’s such a neat guy. We ate at that Thai restaurant. Thanks for bringing back. Amazing memories of gonna have to share this with my family.

He does I agree. That's one of the reasons why I started to watch him over 10 years ago I've always loved these epic trips and epic road trips to unknown places never knowing what we are going to see day to day.
