Luke's vocals are something else beyond this planet,but I miss the guys so much 😢
Why were they not present? Is Luke just 5SOS now in some cases since he is the lead singer? I mean, I like Luke & I know the band began with him, but did they not provide the original instrumental music for these guys to mix? They couldn’t have done the guitars & some percussion perhaps…?
I am a new fan, but this is what leads the assumption a band is not getting back together. When the band eschews being together. I could also be slightly paranoid since I did finally look into them at the same time as Why Don’t We (what another amazing pool of online talent & handsomeness) & they had been apart for so long due to legal reasons that they just all went solo. Such a bummer as they all sounded beautiful together. I really wish I had paid attention to music again earlier instead of zoning out & mislabeling their music leading to me avoid them. 😣
@blusky366They're all just really busy right now. Michael has a new baby, Ash just released an album and Cal is enjoying some time with his gf. They're a band and they grew up together but that doesn't mean they're constantly attached at the hip. And everything they do is discussed together. So they were all fine with Luke doing this alone. Especially under the band name. It was written by Ash and Cal. DW they've taken breaks before and they have assumed there's going to be something new next year.
@blusky366 They arent't gonna split for sure. They've been working and making music together as a band for many years now and i'm certain they won't stop anytime soon. But they do need these breaks to keep a healthy way of working. If they would not take breaks, work on some solo stuff or just enjoy their life and spend time with their family, they most likely would have broken up years ago.
I'm 100% sure they managed to find the balance between beein friends, beeing in a band and also beeing their own person. Just enjoy their solo stuff as long as the break lasts and once they're all back, we get to enjoy the entire band as one again:)
@hailsaep13 thank you for responding! I agree. How they apparently began with at least 3 full back to back tours almost broke them. Too much for such young boys/men there. I am sad I just got into the band so late.
@jojo.1510_ thank you! They all deserve to live a life they enjoy or there would not be too much point to working so much. I guess work hard, play hard, right?! Also they have to live a more varied & normal life to write songs people can relate to.
This sounds incredible acoustic with Luke but I really wish the boys were in there somewhere as well.

I just don't understand this world. I mean I wasn't a huge fan, but in the last 3 months i discovered them and I can't stop listening their songs. Luke is extremly talented. That voice doesn't even need to upscaled upscaled. And the whole band, you can feel the connection between them, they like what they are doing. Why are they SO underrated? They could be as popular as Coldplay is ( I am a Coldplay fan, and they are also super cool just like 5SOS), or am I the only one who is thinking in this way?
I can't figure it out either. A lot of people I know think they're a boy band and something like former teen idol has-beens, when they're amazing musicians making great music. But hey at least their last tour went great and they sold out MSG.

I love this version so much better. You can really hear Luke’s voice and where it cracks and sways and it’s beautiful. I also can play this back and hear every instrument beautifully and even with the imperfections, it makes it that much human and beautiful. I feel like it adds so many different feelings to the song. Like I would sing this as a lullaby to my child

I’ve grown to really love this song and this version. Lyrically it’s more upbeat and positive than many 5SOS songs, but melodically it’s more chill and relaxed than most of their live production

As much as I love Luke , I miss how most of the 5sos songs had all of the boys. It almost just feels like Luke’s band these days. And I love that Ashton and Luke have solo albums but I miss it feeling like a more collective group. They’re still my favourite band and I will always be supportive of them all because their music is the reason I’m still here but I don’t want to lie about how my views have changed. Still an AMAZING song and Luke has such a beautiful voice. Miss y’all 5sos

i think we should all keep in mind that the reason why both luke and ash were able to put out second albums and this acoustic version only has luke in it is because they went on a little break (michael is the father of a newborn now), which they were pretty open about doing once their tour would end. and while their music certainly went in a different direction in recent years in terms of vocals (although i think 5sos5 was satisfying for everyone), saying that "it feels like luke's band" might be disrespectful, as they all STILL very much write, produce and play their OWN songs, regardless of the vocals.
@goksnl I don’t mean to offend them in any way, but I just miss them all. I knew they were on break, I just thought they would be in the Lighter MV at least in the background as it had all of their voices in the original version. I am proud of them for taking the break, I wouldn’t expect Michael to try and be a dad and be on tour as soon as his daughter was born, and idk what Calum’s up to, but I just hope they’re all happy and well. I just miss them.

😮 why? What about them helped? I just discovered them & have been slow listening to their music chronologically so that I can hear the evolution of their voices.
@blusky366 they helped me get through depression. I discovered them back in 2011 when they were posting RUclips videos. They helped me get through a lot of hard times in my life. I’m mentally disabled I have adhd,ocd, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, and learning disabilities their music helped me get through high school if it wasn’t for them I would’ve dropped out due to bullying. I got bullied because of my disabilities they would post it on social media. It got so bad to the point where I had to eat lunch in my classroom because of the bullying. their was a day where I wanted to end it all when I got home school i still had my head phones on. I locked myself in my room I had razor blade in my hand before I could do it a video came through my headphones that saved my life. I can’t remember the title of the RUclips video but it saved my life. I flushed it down the toilet and cried.
@blusky366 for me, my mother had just passed away and my dad was mentally abusive. I discovered their music December 15th, 2017. Songs like broken home, invisible, the more vulnerable songs, really helped me feel like I wasn't alone in everything. All of their old music hits deep. I love hearing everything they've put out over the years and being a part of the new stuff is all the more enjoyable. I could probably add a lot more to this, but I can't think of much more right now.

I grew up in domestic violence & then I married a bipolar alcoholic at 21 & was with him through emotional abuse for about 8 yrs until it became verbal & then physical. Then I called the cops on him & finally divorced him. I’m still healing through complex ptsd. 🙏🏻 thanks for sharing! Take care!
