- Tens of thousands of dock workers on the East and Gulf coasts could strike at midnight on Monday if there is no contract agreement. A strike could cost billions of dollars a day and snag supply chains as the holidays approach. NBC News' Christine Romans reports.

Wow, news really siding against the workers. Ask them how much their living costs have risen in the areas where they work. There's nowhere left in America to move to that's affordable.

Where are the stats on the foreign shipping companies' profits? As fellow Americans, we should be fighting for increased wages in all our jobs. If the Union gets its increase, will the foreign shippers take less profit or just pass it along. Why do we continue to point the finger at each other while we are being robbed from these corporations. Look at their profits and ask yourself, can they afford these increases and still make billions without costing Americans more, then decide how you feel about it
About time, been waiting 20 years for it to feel like the working class can have dignity again. We aren't thugs, even though we do the toughest hardest types of work around most of the time, and are made up of mostly family minded people, who just want to raise a family and have some basic comforts and health care.

That’s what them dock workers & all the rest of hardworking Americans deserve. Homes in the seven boroughs probably start at $900,000 probably $16 for cigarettes or $50 for vape juice if it’s legal. How’s a construction worker supposed to afford that & then raise a family? Hyperinflated wages for everything corporate;$16 & $20 minimum wage. $430,000 for police overtime,$70,000 for new recruits? Where’s the struggle? Do you even coin laundry with Guatemalan women or just pre owned BMW & Grubhub? We wouldn’t want to scratch that,please go back to your side of the tracks. Panera’s good but it’s even better on Sunday when they give away all the bread.
