@@performanceclassics1986 u got yourself a cracker there Mt. I've had 2... Mk1 back in the day and it is now my dream to have another 1 so your a lucky guy well deserved
It was hard to view cars in this condition even back in the day. Most were thoroughly abused. The attention to detail here is amazing. A real pleasure to watch. I think you made the right colour choice with yours even though Olympic Blue would have been a good choice too! Many moons ago, I used to drive past a garage that sold RS's and there was an RS2000 MK1, Olympic Blue and striped for sale. Quite tidy too. The asking price? £1495! Next to it a black base model MK2 RS 2000 (No fishnets or black headlining) ... £2995! Those were the days! A favourite colour of mine (when you could buy them new) was the Java Green RS2000 Mark 2. Not as common as the other colours. Maybe that's why I liked it so much. *EDIT* Thinking about it and don't think the MK 2 even had full length door cards. Just a really basic RS2000. I think they did this when they came to the end of production to clear them to make way for the XR3.
Thanks for the great comment. I only wish we could still buy them for those prices. I agree, that Olympic blue is also an awesome colour choice and also love the Java green mk2 escorts.
Looked like a great show mate, car looked mint.cherry on the cake with the award, you, better make room on the shelf as lots more to come, stay safe mate and enjoy.
Absolutely amazing show Craig really enjoyed it thanks for sharing. Congratulations on the win dude you deserved it your car is something very special indeed 👍
Great video ,some superb looking cars there,so glad you won first prize,a little reward for all your hard work & meticulous attention to detail, you have built a special car ,well done Craig.🇬🇧
That prize from a group of people that know exactly what hard work has gone into it means more than anything else and well deserved you still need to get that radiator overflow tube in place a Motorcraft battery would be a nice touch like you say nice to see the wife a dog getting a day out to any other shows in the pipeline?
Thanks Richard, the award really does mean a lot. I’m still super pleased I received it. Yes I still need to to the rad overflow and the sun visors. I will be going to the GS escorts open day in Runcorn on 16th July and will also be at our local distington vintage show this Sunday. I’m looking at going to Ireland with the car and Birmingham NEC classic show but it’s looking like they will both be next year 🤞
@@richardfranklin1495 I did go to this show around 7-8 years ago and had a great day. The only issue I had with the show was too many new cars on display and I struggle with modern cars. There was about 1 million orange focus ST and another million blue MK1 focus RS 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations on a well deserved award there Craig - Definately the first of many more to come & a testimony to your amazing workmanship - Question please send on the RUclips Link for the Andrew English channel - keen to see the story board on his beaut as well. Cheers till the next vid
Fantastic video and congratulations on the award. The black mk2 did look nice, as did all of the cars. Will you be going to the AVO national day at Hatton County World on July 10th?.
Another great video....keep up the good work!! Just wanted to mention the issue you had with the paint on your cam cover. I experienced a similar issue on my classic car until the chap who powder coated mine told me I should probably get mine ceramic coated instead as it would handle the heat generated much better. It's now been 7 months since I had mine ceramic coated and I've had no paint reaction/issues.
Hi , if the cover is mag alloy ? I think it would need allerchroming an electro plating , a yellowish green surface as used on aircraft parts . Really great work and a credit to you and the family and a FIRST , AMAZING CONGRATS .😀
I’m at a local vintage rally show next Sunday, followed by an open day at GS classic fords in Runcorn. I’m hopefully going to plan some big shows for next year such as the NEC classics show and possibly going to Ireland 🤞
Thanks Tony 👍. They recommend fitting one but you can get away without one if everything is in good condition, such as hoses etc. That’s the info I received from Retro Ford and so far, I haven’t being running one and hopefully I will continue to have no issues in future 🤞🤞🤞
Amazing Craig as I keep saying, your work is just second to none mate 👍
Thanks very much Tony. How’s yours coming along??
Pleased for you and your car and overjoyed you got a first at your local show keep the videos coming 👍
