I live in Russia, I don't know you foreign friends, but I want to wish everyone good luck, a good day and most importantly peace and understanding between us!
Saint Petersburg is one city that is on my bucket list to visit. I would love to see Palace Square and all the bridges and beautiful architects of the city.
Well lucky for you, you can do it any day. I see a lot of cars with finnish and Estonian licence plate in SPB lately. As far as I know Russian government not so racist like finnish government who banned me to come to Finland
I've been there, it is a beautiful city. The palaces are breathtaking, the Romanov palace is the Hermitage Museum. I was told when I was there, "If one looks at every display or exhibit for only one minute it will take between ten to eleven years to see everything". Catherine the Great's palace has a very large room covered in Amber. The czars had these palace projects mainly to provide work for hundreds of different trades and for national pride. Just this one city is a treat but there are many others though smaller throughout Russia.

Best city in the world!!!
Hi from Petersburg!👍👍👍
It looks very clean and well kept. People are wearing clothes, not shopping in pajamas looking like they just rolled out of bed. I’m also not seeing a sea of blue haired land whales, and I didn’t spot any men in dresses. I also didn’t see any homeless people in tents outside the entrance pandering for money and it doesn’t appear that patrons needs to step over syringes on the sidewalk outside the mall. WAY better than shopping in San Francisco!
They have prisons where they hide it, or huge places in Siberia. Or live in paradise?
People take a shower every day, wash in the bathroom, they do not save water. Cleanliness is the guarantee of health. And they change clothes every day, do not go dirty and sweaty. In Russia, people don't wear pajamas on the street. Homeless people are also rarely seen on the street. There are social shelters for them, where they are given documents, they are fed and treated free of charge, and they are provided with jobs. In Russia, normal marriages are man + woman. They do not litter on the streets, there are signs so that garbage is thrown into special bins for garbage
@@quifix1lol Here in Berlin there aren't many homeless either, you think the rest of the world is full of them like in the USA?

Not to mention, Russia has the breathtaking *“Golden Ring”* popular tourist route where Russia once started out as a country, with numerous 1000+ year old cathedrals and monasteries. *Stalingrad* (now Volgograd) - the legendary city in which the most important and game changing battle of WW2 happened with its astounding WW2 heritage. *Grozny* - fantastic city in the Caucasus. *Siberia* - often called “the most precious gem in the Russian imperial crown” and “the lungs of the planet” with its fantastic taiga and wilderness, with numerous national parks. *Altai* - in the heart of Asia with terrific lakes and mountains, *Karelia* - with fascinating Scandinavian landscapes, *lake Baikal* - the deepest lake in the world with unforgettable nature, *Kamchatka* - in the Far East with its incredible volcanoes and so on and so forth. Initially some of the branded shops closed, but given time, all of the spaces have reopened now. Either with a new name, or a new brand entirely.
There is a massive interest from many South American designers and brands in the upper segment trying to conduct business and establish there is not something that can happen in the blink of an eye due to chiefly the SWIFT disconnection HOWEVER many are using Dubai, Jedah and Istanbul as bridge to solve the problem. but as a international business development manager I can see a very bright future in re to the fashion industry relationship between the regions. Brazilian summerwear, Colombian Jeans and underwear, Peruvian cosmetics and fragance manufacturing, Argentinean Childrenwear, Mexican silver goods they all now got the chance to be known and that is a blessing for the people.
Business will always fill a gap in the market. More power to them in expanding their sales base I say.
@@realitycheck3361 very well stated!
Brazilian summer clothes are very interesting, but here we have warm weather for 3-5 months a year, sometimes in January it is -25-30. There are no problems with trendy summer clothes, there are problems with trendy winter clothes, oddly enough. This is probably due to the fact that all modern fashion is designed for the climate in northern Italy.

Consumer products sold in these markets aren't sanctioned. That's why this video is kind of propaganda, "look sanctions aren't affecting". Well, no sh.. Those international consumer brands which have left Russia is because of reputational issues, not because of sanctions.
@@jamestown4454 11,000 sanctions were imposed on Russia, and what about consumer goods?
Great video Russell. Please keep safe from any drone attack.
Russia Mother. How beautiful you are. Thanks for the vidio❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you.

Very beautiful shopping mall!
Very nice and somewhat surprising,thankyou.
What a beautiful mall. I love all the glass. And it's so nice and clean.
hello
Very different in terms of crowd compared to malls in the Philippines. Malls here, specially in Metro Manila are always very crowded, specially on weekends. The atmosphere in that mall is very relaxing.
Interesting! Thanks for making a comparison.
Crowds inside malls...i used to live in Taiwan and it was so hot in summer, at weekends, we went occasionally in the malls to cool down.....
in China malls are also huge but they are also pretty empty ..
Yeah, window shopping only. 2nd reason air-condition. True right.
Thanks Russell nice to hear your Aussie accent makes me feel at home, keep doing a great job mate.
I really enjoyed this thank you. Do you live there?
I do, about 1 1/2 hours from this mall. Outside of Moscow.
Some of these stores are, themselves, as large as a Walmart is. So clean, modern, and orderly with an amazing variety of everything- in contrast to so much in the US. If you can't find it here, you probably can get along better without it. Adelante Rusia!
I remember the 80s when the shopping mall was a culture like in Fast Times At Ridgemont High. We would make a special trip on Saturday to a nearby larger town with a mall especially to get our hair cut by a hairstylist (🙄80s) which was something better than mom! Also it was a refuge from the heat!
In Russia, people just go to the mall. Not a special trip.
Looks nice and clean, safe unlike many malls in Canada.
We need a poutine cafe though.
Oh no...Canada too?
@natasia9759 Well sure, the US still has very nice areas too.
Yeah, Canadian malls are well known death traps.
@@natasia9759 Many drone comments that make blanket statements when its a fact the US and Canada have really nice malls lol..
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the Super Thanks. I am glad you like and enjoy the videos i am making :))) Russell.
Good job for exposning us to aviapark.
Karaca is a type of a Deer in Turkish (Capreolus capreolus), as you can tell from the sign, just FYI 😁👍 It is a smaller breed, that can be found in Anatolia and in Caucasus mostly.

Gee, I thought Russia was just "a gas station with nukes," or in the words of the late John "Songbird" McCain, "a gas station masquerading as a country." This mall is far nicer and more vibrant than any mall I've seen in the U.S. It's missing a few features common in the freak shows here, like the vacant shops, dilapidation and so-called humans walking around with asses hanging out of their pants. A trip to a mall here is a nauseating and dangerous experience. If I didn't know better, I might begin to doubt what CNN and MSNBC have taught us Americans about Russia. I might even doubt what I've heard about the brilliance and effectiveness of "Shower Daddy" Biden's sanctions campaign against Russia.
Wow it is very easy to change your opinion all it took is one video to convince you the whole country is great. Also check out the “American Dream” mall it has skiing and a water park inside.
@@JakeSDN I didn't change my opinion. I did mock the lies that we're told every day.
Holycrap... this is the capital and biggest city in Russia. Go in a smaller town and you see how life was 50 years ago. 🙋🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@strasbourgerelsass1467 I travel a lot in Russia and not only. Even in the smallest, remote cities of Russia, you will not find empty shelves. Yes, there will be no fashion boutiques, but the shops, even rural ones, will be clean and tidy.
@@vladimirnikolskiy Sure. And I am God. 😆😉
And meanwhile, malls here in the U.S. are full of empty storefronts and the malls themselves are gradually shutting down everywhere.
Bigger malls like this will always be popular in Russia. There more of a destination, than purely a place to go and shop.
@carltice544, no disrespect to our American cousins intended but like here in the UK, our economies are screwed. Our finances are so stretched with the cost of living. Our high streets yrs ago were bustling but now most of the big chains have moved or gone out of business altogether. All we have in our town centre are gangs of marauding drugged up zombies aggressively begging and threatening people.
@@George-hs2zm The reason is not in online trading, but in the root - in the decline in the standard of living, which the authorities deliberately hide. It's just that for a long time America and the whole West lived at the expense of the rest of the planet and at the expense of unsecured money printing.
And now this period is ending. Therefore, those who earn money live better, and those who lived at the expense of others and at the expense of loans (i.e. loans from the future) will live worse. And every year it gets worse and worse. Americans and Europeans are already beginning to feel this in the form of a reduction in production and inflation, and the real consequences are still ahead.
So there is only one way out of this - to flee to normal developing countries. At the same time, escape from gender madness
Have sanctions been imposed against the United States? Iran? Iraq? Libya, and no, no, North Korea for sure!
Nicely filmed video Russell. Good to see an Aussie perspective of Mother Russia too.....pss, I bet most viewers can't tell an Aussie accent from a Pommy, so that's our little secret. Funny, but I've been watching Eli from Russia's videos of her trip to Australia a few months ago, as well. Use to enjoy Mr Balds vids too, as he use to go to the back and beyond of Russia. Are you going to do more videos outside of Moscow, and show us other cities and countryside. Do you speak Russian? What is an Aussie doing over there?
I believe that the majority of Russians would think he is American. British accent is way too different from American . Plus, Russians preferred to copy American accent, for some reason…
@@phoenixjoe5520 Probably. But I would think most of his video viewers would be non Russian. That was whom my comment was aimed at. And to give a boost to Russell, for making these videos as well.

RUSSIA has a better standard of living than USA , cost for food is 1/3 of USA supermarkets , loads of stock ! Housing is 1//8 much less than USA, Amazing !❤
Thanks for sharing. Big increases in the US cost of living. Thanks for commenting.
Nice to see things moving on.. very interesting vid.. thanks for sharing

I do love a good walkabout! And thank you for using the term "brutalist". So very few know what that word means. 😀❤
There are more stores open - and more people shopping - in AviaPark than our mall (two, actually) that we occasionally visit in the Phoenix area.
I have NEVER seen a skateboard locker before!
Great episode!
Russ didn't know what brutalist meant until recently.

Happy you're back in Russia Russell.
awesome stuff. thanks
Glad you liked it!
It looks like a lovely shopping centre, with lots of great shops & facilities.
there is no customers , even the car park is dead .
@@NicolasValentinScotland True - there's not a lot of customers in the shops or cars in the car park - but then Russell did say that it was the middle of the day on a week day - so maybe that explains the lower numbers. I think he deliberately tries to go to these places when they're less busy - because it's much better for making videos at the shops when it's not busy. There's probably a lot more people there on the weekends etc.
it's like me going fishing trying to catch one little baby fish . Big malls with 50 shops and no customer's is the real picture and the total decline . @@janburn007

Hello Russel - greetings from Poland.
I'm a British living just outside Warsaw. I'm married to a lovely Polish lady. I'm astonished. No, astounded by your video. We've been fed total propaganda by the West and Polish media. We're told shops are empty because of sanctions. People are queueing for food. Even fighting for food! What a total load of rubbish. A superb shopping mall. Clean well stocked full of people. Exactly the opposite that we are told here in Poland.
A million thanks for opening my eyes.
👏
Greetings from Russia. I was in Warsaw in 2019 and I really liked it. They lie everywhere now. This is politics. They tell you about empty shelves in stores, and they tell us how you are freezing without Russian gas. The truth is always in the middle, isn't it?
As a patriotic American veteran I still love my Russian brothers and sisters beyond what ever our governments decide to get up to, and I am glad to see things are going well here. We get a lot of BS news here but never the true story about anything beyond propaganda about why we need to send billions into a cash trap so the elites can do as they please. Sooner or later I hope we can work things out between the normal people who just want to live.
