If they're not showing their face, they most definitely aren't using their real name, is the point. And because women get away with publishing heinous stuff like this (for some reason), men have been known to use female pen names (just like women used to use male pen names to be taken seriously as authors back in the day) --- and there's some pretty key indicators of "men writing women" here, including the typical "Virgin loves an,al the first time" and biology that just doesn't work like that. i think like any kink, grape in a fantasy setting (if appropriately disclaimed) can be fine. people don't choose what they're into and most people can tell the difference between reality and fantasy. I assume it's something similar to other fantasies that involve giving up control: the appeal being getting out of feeling ashamed for having desires, feeling desirable beyond reason, idk probably other things. There is a lot of werewolf fiction out there, a lot of which would probably be physically unpleasant, even if consensual, so I really don't think anyone who indulges in fantasy conflates that with things that would be good in real life. if the book had a disclaimer acknowledging that it contains grapes and doesn't romanticise it as anything more than a titillating fantasy story, I could respect that.
Eh to each their own but imo its still pretty gross like the whole “people cant control what their into” thing rubs me the wrong way. Like would you say the same about pedo’s? They cant control it either but its still disgusting even if they look at “fictional” stuff. Like yeah i get what you mean by not being able to control what you’re into but you can control if you indulge it.
