It takes TIME to gather people to welcome people on to their land and it takes a lot of heart to let a Pākeha man into their lands after what they’ve experienced through land confiscation, migration & colonialism. Tūhoe people are the most loving people in our country, STAUNCH because they have the right to be, WELCOMED Mikey on to their Marae, Hapu, Whenua, Kura and that man has the guts to THINK that way about our boys.. If he really wanted to learn about Maori & Tūhoe people he would’ve came in with an open mind, a WILL to learn & to leave all his pākeha thoughts, habits, words and beliefs where he came from.

@Arowhenua2011 bollocks..his comments are insulting and needs straighting out, he deserved it..he knows he is going into a school that speaks Maori, and he butchers the reo, and learns three pitiful lines, and balls that up..I learnt 7 lines of Mandarin when I knew I was going to give some Chinese a powhiri, I practiced for 4 weeks, practiced on a Mandarin speaking Chinese, and nailed it at the powhiri and got qudos for it and respect, of which this presenter lacked for his hosts
