@prowrestlingshotsfired Terry Reid was originally supposed to be the singer for Led Zeppelin, at least he was Page's first pick, but Reid turned it down and told Page to check out a singer he'd heard named Robert Plant, and everyone knows the story from there. Years later Reid was ask if he regretted passing on the opportunity, he basically said "Not at all, it wouldn't have been the same if I'd have sang and Zeppelin wouldn't have turned out to be what it was without Robert Plant, I'm just glad I'm the one that put them together, I've always lived happy knowing that".
@@cody6220 That’s exactly correct. How did you know? Did you do the same? Now I’m curious to see if he has other awesome songs like this one. I’m checking him out for sure. 🙏👍🏻😀🤘🏼✌️
Just pure talent. Great example of an underrated musician. This guy should be as much as a household name as Jerry Garcia. He just encompasses that era better than anyone I can think of.
@@bambamgaming7166 Yes, not only that he was Jimmy Page's first pick to sing for Zeppelin, Reid turned it down and told him to check out a singer he'd heard named Robert Plant. True story.

@@johnoconnell9645 Not sure about the last bit as Andrew Loog Oldham had taken over as manager from Don Arden who I am assuming would have been the person who may have made that threat.
This dudes so damn good! I have been, I feel, blessed to have been given this song to listen to whenever I want. He is a gift to music lovers. Also do yourself another favor...listen to Rival Sons. Their singer is just like Terry. I'd love to hear some "Foolin You" from him
So fuckin'great !!! Still hits the spot after at least 45 years of loving this song. I know it's a cliché , but - they don't make 'em like this anymore. 🐂💨 💨 💨 💨
How did I not hear bout this guy before wonderland my pop is biggest hippie out there, jesus he still wears tight Jean's and bandannas ,we used to hang out alot, learned alot about 60s 70s ,I lived through 80s but dam,did he have more than 1 album or what
Thank you ROB ZOMBIE for introducing me to this cat! Its ashame this guy didnt get to be as big as he should have been. Great fucking songwriter. Fuckin guy has some pipes
I first heard it playing on a turntable in another movie only about a minute of the song when I finally found out who it was I also found out it was written for his wife I just lately saw three from hell rob zombie what a guy!
Reid at his finest really put the Band in his chorus delivery. You could hear Richard or Rick singing this although Reid's voice is so much stronger in area. Maybe it's like Steve Marriott decided to sit in on the Brown album...Tumbleweed Connection part 2
Can you hear what I've been thinkin'? Do you hear my words out loud? 'Cause there's an echo that's insisting That this here phone ring out now But when it does it rings, no question, but when it don't I wonder why, Baby I'm somewhere you can reach me on this dark and lonely night. Oooohhhh, what a faith to arise... yeah Feel that look in your eyes You know we'll be thinkin' we'll be bringin' that Time and place in your mind, And you need a lesson to hang on too, Feel what it is that's alive And you know that it's only one more day, That I'm gonna be this far away, And now I'm sitting here on this phone, I've run out of things to say... Except it's gonna feel good to get back home, How it's gonna feel good to just get back home I've been out here stretchin' on my own, Whoa, it's gonna feel good to just get back home I take a plane out in the morning Puts me in tomorrow night I got something I want to say to you On the hours that I lose in this flight There's a beauty about London, though the rain's still pouring down, It only makes me thinking of wakin', so the night wakes, and breaks and shakes the ground. And oohhhh... what a faith to arise, yeah See that look in your eyes You know you'll be thinkin', you'll be singin' 'bout that time and place in your mind, The sun and you let them grow on to Be what it is that's alive You know that time, she's a passer of everyday Know what it is... no one here can say Just write your name in the sky, with the curve of the earth of night. Baby it's the end of the turn, I can see the reflection in your eyes, How it's gonna feel good to get back home Oooh it's gonna feel good just to get back home Well I been out here stretchin' on my own And now it's gonna feel good just to get back home Ohh sure feels good to get back home

Wonderland sent me but I stayed for his music! So good! Should have been bigger than he was. This song has become one of my favorites!!
If my family doesn't play this absolute banger at my funeral they aren't invited 🤷♂️
My pa raised me on Terry Reid. When I left the farm I was blown away that nobody knew who he was.

When he turned it down he also told Page to check out a young singer he'd heard in a club named Robert Plant, that's how Page discovered him.
