Today, we put my vintage 52-year-old grain truck-converted into a roll-off truck-to work on a side hustle adventure! From hauling scrap metal and cleaning out junk in the shop to hitting the road and collecting scrap from properties we own, we’re making the most of this classic beast.
Our goal? To clean up some of my companies' rental spaces, make room for more storage at these properties, and turn clutter into cash. Along the way, we tackled piles of junk for friends and customers, hauled loads of scrap, and found creative ways to turn a vintage truck into a side money-making machine.
While this doesn't really generate a whole lot of money for my business by simply scrapping piles of junk metal. Driving around town in this vintage truck turns heads, sparks conversation, and leads to more business for my dumpster business! This truck is acting as a mobile billboard for the business!
I hope you will continue to follow us as we hustle, clean, and maximize my investments in equipment and property-all while breathing new life into a retro ride!

I usually generate two 13 yard roll off du.psters at my shop with motor within a month or just over. We do alot of metal pick up. Only things we separate is copper and aluminum. The rest we generally throw out.
you should do a video regarding business structure for the rentals. Love the videos, keep up the hard work!
@@lucasfairbanks the apartment rentals?
@ the real estate stuff yes, since you briefly touched on the equipment. Love to know the structure of the business, and the structure of how you set it up to protect yourself and be a good time to go into story’s on good vs bad tenants, how your leases are set up, how you can avoid bad tenants, etc… all the “boring stuff” but the things that make it function

@georgejohnson1492 Much appreciated, man! Thanks for following!! Glad you enjoy catching up on us!
That's a great looking truck and I wonder if a truck of that era, no def/electronics/emissions/etc, might actually serve you well for several years. Your probably planning on completing those fenders to cover all drives/pusher. I once ran a fleet of roll offs without fenders and our dumpsters rotted prematurely because of the mud flung up on their undersides. Best of luck with that classic truck.
Honestly, once we swap that cummins in there, I won't hesitate to drive this around daily. I've always said this will be more of an advertising vehicle for us, but we will use it as a backup, backup backup, and for odd jobs. So it will be nice when I'm more confident in it's performance or ability to be more serviceable.
The fenders will probably stay as is. Because those rear wheels are drop tags. I rarely set them down because I still need to put mud flaps on the very rear! So right now, those tag tires are acting as my mud flaps lol
Good video getting stuff cleaned up thanks for the video

Why are those other trucks parking on your property.
@seancasey2444 they are state trucks. Ever since I've owned the property, they have come and gone on the lot as they please. Unloading trailers with equipment before working on parts of the road. Sometines leaving a trailer or truck in the middle of the lot for hours. Once someone actually left a truck in front of a row of my dumpsters. Never asking if they could use the lot once. I let it go for a long time, making subtle remarks to guys on crews personally about just staying out of our way if they could. Tried to be understanding. But actually, what wasn't seen in this clip was after I stood out in the middle of my lot with my arms raised. With that look on my face like "what do you think you're doing" - I think they got the hint. They quickly packed up. BUT - When they left, they jackkniffed a trailer right in my brand new packed down gravel in front of the storage units. It's not the first time something like this has happened, but this was the straw that broke the back.
Keegan didn't get it all on video. But there were at least 5 large trucks, one backhoe, a trailer and 2 pickup trucks. Just in this instance. Keegan had also been running dumpsters in the a.m. and there were a few trucks there in the early morning as well.
The worst part is I get a long with a few of these guys and know a couple personally. But the majority of them don't know me, and I don't know them, and they've never spoken to me.
I made a few phone calls and they should not be returning.
On the phone, someone said "the guys probably didn't realize it was a problem. They have been using that lot for 15 years without issues."
I've owned it for 5. I'm just tired of it, honestly.
I'm sure a few of them understand, and I'm sure a few of them have a lot of negative things to say about me now.
But honestly, so be it. If someone looked them in the eyes, pulled into their driveway every week for years, and used it as they pleased. It would get to them, too.
another great EPOSODE.. OF PAKASTANI TRUCK!!!

You're looking at it all wrong. You got paid to get rid of that stuff instead of having to pay to dump it.
@soupie2100 that's 100% true. That's hundreds of dollars saved at the dump. And a few customers paid us to pick stuff up, because we didn't film everything! I didn't even talk about all that. Solid point to be made sir.
Id say dual stacks at rear dont destroy the clean body you will regret it with hood stack
Believe it or not That vent that is in the hood is right where the turbo will be. And you can pop it in and out. It's kind of weird because it's actually a circle cut hole underneath the vent. So in reality, we might do both ideas at some point. I also plan to turn the Vent around and make it more functional. If we do not run the stack through the hood...maybe. need to double check a few things. I don't want it to be goofy
You should have your apartments in a separate LLC for liability purposes. I'm not a lawyer.
it's so badass with v8 gas, old school cool imo
It is unique. We will definitely be keeping the gas motor to the side, justttt in case. And also because it's so rare. It has 13k miles...
But in reality, if it breaks, finding what we need to get it back on the road may be a pain, between the motor and the old clark transmission.
While I could go to Orilieys and get what I need for a 12 valve the day of. And we have a little more wiggle room for power adjustment with the cummins.
@@rollingops 12v makes it functional and I get that, but the v8 is old school soul IMO. it's badass one way or another, and one of my favorite projects to see!
Nice truck i love it
Thanks man!
Your welcome and you can use that place as your office tho but you can make money by renting it
@@nanerchin2325 we've talked about that! If we grow and grow. One day, it may be necessary
Definitely Cummins Swap! Don't hood stack it. Dual stacks on the cab!
Duals would be sick, flaps on the stacks?
@rollingops flaps on the stacks, yess. Definitely old school Just imagine idling through a parade or at a traffic light and you hear the classic "ting, ting ting" of the flaps

@@davemyrie8275 oh yea??
That’s a bad ass truck….. is it cdl rated?
23,000 lbs without tag axle, even with air brakes. It wouldn't need a cdl.
But if the tag is on the truck and also in use, yes, CDL.
Sooo yes kinda, no kinda! Lol

Really should invest in fencing your lot.
We are planning to do an automated gate. Just have to do a couple things first
I would just leave the paint how it is.
It needs one or 2 touch ups even if we go with a "patina" just to avoid future rust.
All you had to do was put in on a dolly and roll it out you made it harder to move.
So what part are you talking about my friend? A dolly would of been handy multiple times in this video.
