I've watched this video 10 times and counting. Kristi and Mark are the best dancer.
To me, she is the best winner and the best celebrity they have ever had. No one will ever compare to her.
Mark always gave her dances with high level of content and she made them all look effortless.

I have never watched DWTS but as a fan of figure skating, I watched Kristi Yamaguchi plenty! I was looking for something else on youtube and this caught my eye so I started to watch Kristi and Mark and could not stop! Wow! Amazing dancers together, costumes and just pure joy to watch. I was mesmerized by their athletism, their rhythm, their musicality, their expressions, and cohesiveness as dance partners. And Mark is very easy on the eyes! I am sure glad I got stuck on this video!
Still get goosebumps watching her performances especially the opening Foxtrot….I remember like 2008 all over again. Amazing, amazing amazing…still my favorite on dwts

Christie and her talented instructor danced so explicitly. Christie's stamina of remembering so many complicated steps, glides across the floor in perfect expressive balance. I also loved both beautiful expensive costumes for each and every performance. Congratulations to the seamstresses for those durability fabrics without coming unsewn. !!
I hate how most modern fans tend to ignore her in favor of more recent contestants.
When she came back to dance on Season 25 with Mark and Lindsey, she looked like she hadn't lost a step.
I met her in 2009. She was very nice!
So underrated on the show.
Thank you so much for putting together this high resolution video of her performances. All I had were the previous low res videos of this amazing performer. Her talent shined just as brightly on DWTS as in her Olympic skating. They should be remembered for decades.
I loved Kristi and Mark when I first saw them. I was so young back then, but I was very obsessed with DWTS and Kristi was my choice for winner from the beginning.
I love this two, Kristi and, Mark, from the beginning. They are the best! 🥰
Kristi by far was the best ever! Her beauty, grace and sheer talent far surpassed and still surpasses any celebrity who has competed including Meryl Davis. Her scores were too low in comparison and her average should have been 30. Their free style has not been matched since. All her costumes were stunning and "decent" for a "family" show bringing dignity and honor to herself and the show. She is radiantly beautiful inside and out.

I miss when DWTD used to be really classic ballroom, closer to how actual competitive ballroom is

It was like she was made for this
i feel like this isnt fair.....she obviously had alot of skills that transfered from skating
it was addressed a long time ago, but that was a common misconception! the skills needed aren't the same, and she also struggled with her club foot making it hard to get her steps right.
The judges also took a lot of points from her for a lack of emotion/theatre/presence during performances.

Wow--they didn't get their first perfect score until week 6!!---the judges that season were more brain dead than usual!!---they should have had at least 2 perfect scores before that!!
Also---ended up with Only 3 Perfect Scores???-----Really???----Wow!!!----glad they won because they were really shafted on the scores they got!!!
She got snubbed.
However, they did get a 27 for the very first week, and she never scored below an 8 the entire season. Model of consistency.
Well also don’t forget the judges were more strict back then than they are now. Kristi would of had triple tens from Week 3 until pretty much the end of the show with her seasons performances had she competed nowadays.
