Cass Gray well I do that and they don’t have a problem with it, but I only send to my close friends because the area we live in is kind of dangerous. My parents would let me send to others if they are sibilants of mine but in a different country/state. They might also let me find pen pals online but I won’t look for them online because you know, identity theft, cat fishing and other stuff.

I’m new to pen-paling as well, but I know some people choose friends on social media or chat with others they find on penpal sites. My new penpal is a friend I met online that I started emailing back and forth with for months - we only recently decided to formally correspond :-) it’s good to err on the safe side, but it’s less scary when you get to know someone. Plus, I do believe many penpal sites have a safety-net of sorts where any suspicious character can be reported.
