Tanaji put the wedding plans on hold and immediately left for the meeting. On hearing Shivaji's plan to recapture Kondhana fort near Pune from the Mughals, Tanaji took charge of the campaign and started his preparations. This was just a little summary.
It was one of the starting events of maratha mughal war which lasted for around 27 years and ended with the death of mughal emperor aurangzeb. After the death of aurangzeb maratha conquered delhi, agra nd bhopal which was the heart of the mughal empire. Atlast marathas defeated mughals nd that's why mughal empire shrank to its lowest. 3rd battle of panipat was fought around 100 years after this when maratha became the biggest empire of the indian subcontinent.

Its was bhau mistake who climbed down from the elephant after his nefew got killed. Most Pakistanis tend to think they are the inheritors of the Mughals, who were some benevolent kings and brought art and culture to the Heathen (Hindu India) lol. That they ruled India for a 1000 years etc. maybe because that's what has been taught. That Indians/Hindus were weak and Mughals are the warrior people who never lost. These movies, though not historically accurate in their drama, highlight that it wasn't an easy walk over and they lost many times from the Sikhs, Rajput and of course the Maratha.
In fact, Maratha's pretty much-shut Aurangzeb into his palace when they were sacking Delhi.
Maratha's ended the Mughals, but then the British came. rest is quite literally history.

this movie is based on a kind of surgical strike of maratha warriors on mughals who occupied kondhana fort which is presently near pune situated on sahyadri mountains in a very difficult terrain kind of impossible for enemies to capture it except in case of voluntary surrender or treaty . in this war tanhaji malusare who was subhedar of umrath his village in konkan part of maharashtra state and tanhaji was also shivaji raje's trusted soldier as folklore says "there was wedding of tanhaji's son shivaji maharaj couldnt ask him to lead the strike but as he came to know abt it he said "first i ll win kondhana then my son will get married" and with a few selected soldiers he raided kondhana fort by climbing those steep hills which is why it is said "only three things can survive in sahyadri due to its difficult terrain AIR TIGER AND A MARATHA" and rest ius history he won kondhana fort but gave his life so when shivaji maharaj came to know abt his sacrifice he sai" gadh ala pan sinh gela" means fort is now under maratha dominion but the tiger who protects it is lost and it is said that he wept like a child on loss of this great warrior ! shivaji maharaj for we indians is not less than a god he is the one who laid the foundation of hindvi swaraj "a rule by natives" jai bhawani jai shivaji.
