I tell ya, Bail Lu is in my view the most compelling actress of all time! In sheer beauty, ability to play this commanding role with full force and yet subtlety-Bai Lu is highly persuasive. Hooray as she is my favorite! In my dreams I wish I could marry her and look after her every need. Haha, I would sure love to take her to lunch in San Francisco, California.
What a fantastic character she was, a badass soldier with great Martial Arts skills and equal smarts, who unlike all other leads in the drama, actually a decent person. She proved to be the only reason to touch this nonsensical drama. Bai Lu is not only beautiful, but she can also act and fortunately, her character was decently written in comparison for example to Ren Xin from "Journey to Love" (even if Liu Shishi as an actress is amazing and beautiful too)
Every time I see movies like this, my hatred for all the nobles of ancient China increases!!! I am glad that I am now in this phase of my life, although I strongly suspect that I may have experienced a life in this ancient time.
