Friday Night Funkin' is a rhythm game where the player controls Boyfriend, a young male who is trying to date his girlfriend. However, he must defeat multiple bosses by rap battling in order to do so. Boyfriend goes through multiple "weeks", which contain three songs each.
Friday Night Funkin': Mario's Madness is a mod of Friday Night Funkin' that crosses the game with creepypastas in the Super Mario Series in general, including most notably an original reinterpretation of Mario.exe. The mod was first released on 21st February 2022

Why are Sonic and Tails here? - Literally nobody
Sonic and Tails are facing against Horror Mario as they hadn’t heard of BF and GF in weeks (This is after Sonic Adventure), but then, Sonic gets weird, Mario styled texts from BF’s phone, so they check BF’s house, Sonic checks the TV, while Tails checks upstairs, Sonic gets grabbed by M and gets sent to M’s world, Tails hears Sonic’s yells, so he checks the TV, also getting sucked in, the same cutscene plays out but M and Sonic interact, with Sonic not being threatened at all, yet confused, since Mario? was saying how he ruined his chance of a bigger fortune, and then the songs take place! - Me
