@@nolandapul1132 Sorry, I was reflecting on the First Time I heard Kansas as the opening Act to Z.Z. Top in New Mexico! I am sure when you hear this and going Through Life’s Journey, You wrote about the first steps to this time, Your journey through Life! Thank you!💚💛 Now teachers Push garbage! Oh and this Was their Opening Song!!! ❤
Love this song. It's been speaking to me alot lately as the years seem to pass by so quickly and you reflect on your life and all your accomplishments. Love matters. All the material things collected are soon forgotten and have no meaning...and when we are gone..all we are is dust in the wind... Beautiful video. Thank you.
Does not get much better than this American, homegrown band. Terribly underappreciated. So unique, talented and sincere. Hard to find that now. Nice endeavor, Maverick51, a worthy remembrance. Cheers.
I’m truly sorry for your loss😢 I know how that feels❤ Try to remember all the good things in those 28 years😊 I truly think there is only a finite number of souls you will see him again!
This is my favourite song by Kansas! My younger brother used to wind their tapes on cassettes at Tape Warehouse in Chamblee (not far from where we grew up) im Ga.
" And all your money won’t another minute buy " I love this quote / lyric. The first time I can honestly remember hearing this song was nearly a decade ago, while on vacation with my parents in Colorado. They had pulled off to look at new house going up in a development somewhere by Rifle, and I sat in the car waiting and this was the song that played. 14 year old me looked out on the reddish colored mountains as the sun went down behind them, not far from a cemetery that had been there since the late 1800s. This is the first time a song really stuck me on spiritual level, that memory was etched into my mind and hasn’t faded one bit. It’s almost haunting, but in a very peaceful way. It’s one of those moments that words were just not necessary and it was quiet and peaceful moment all to my self.
What a deep thought for a 14 year old!. Here is Omar Khayyam's version: "“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”
I comforted a friend who wasn't too enthusiastic about his new titanium knee. So I told him, just imagine! When your body turns to dust in a million years, they'll still find your knee!
I'm getting dumped in the ocean. Santa Cruz Trench about 20,000 feet down. In 5 years nothing will be left except for my titanium knees. While not completely immune to corrosion due to salt water they will last a long time. I doubt that the Pacific Ocean will dry out before they are gone though.
I have enjoyed this song for years, going back 40 plus years. But how sad and hopeless would we be if all we amount to is dust. Praise God He gave us a soul and spirit that can be eternal. ❤❤❤
Uh huh...for God so loved the world that he created men and tortured them and killed them with hideous diseases and death. You are a rather substantial moron and simpleton.
Yeah, like that moment when you think (realize?) that maybe we are Not just dust... maybe things ARE relevant, even our Words...have meaning...and have influence beyond Our lives and lifestyles, (think Shakepeare, the Bible, etc...)... what would that be like???
Imagine this song playing on the battery-operated AM/FM emergency radio, while hurricane Hugo raged outside and uprooted trees, ripped roofs off of houses all around, wind whistling and screaming like a freight train. Night was dark and black. Myrtle Beach, SC. Burned in my memory for over 30 years. So much has changed, but the time... oh where did it go?
As I get older, I'm 57 now, I have lost so many loved ones in my life. All my grandparents, all my uncles, all but one aunt, some cousins, my brother and recently my mother. This song makes me think of them all and how short life is and how insignificant we are in the grand scheme of things.
From dust you were formed, and to dust you shall return. It is the spirit within you, as imbued by God, between those two points that determines how much you’re able to pull out of life, and how fully alive you can be.
Considering that we may be on the brink of a world war, we need to reflect on the lyrics of this song .Nobody is indispensable .Life's journey is short and we must remember that out of dust we were formed and to dust we return.
Remember that we're here for but a season, and we owe our existence to the grace of our God. So give thanks and live, love and play the way He wanted you to.
Like all grate music: all, I am left with is unchanged melody, we all grow old with memories, handicapped by the reality being a speck in the universe; a failure in retrospect, and what we gave, experienced, created, and loved, wonderful specks in the wind even pure gold,.... that is why the music brings up memories with longing's to explore more.
How true this song is ,i'm 70 now and how time flew , and i thinks about the triumph and disapointments, and the passing of My mother the rock in My life, god how i miss those days
I don't know this song always reminded me of ecclesiastics when it talks about how we return to the dust and to store your treasures in heaven where they won't rot. I'd have to look it up for exact words but to me this song tells me there is more to life than here.
@@monicaorona6607 You have a point there! I always hear that Kansas was a "Christian" band. Some of their songs are some what "Spiritual" Carry On My Wayward Son is another one.

The older I become, the truth resonates in the lyrics. 😌😌😌Everything is temporary, so enjoy life while still alive.
I believe in the Sun when it is not shining.
I believe in love when I feel it not.
And, I believe in God when he is silent. 🙏🤔😌
Jesus came to give us everlasting life…John 3:16
I could not have said it better.... temporary..
I think life makes you humble. You speak a truth. Only with age does one really get this beautiful song.
Amen 🙏

Simplemente eso somos y si despertamos a tiempo, tendremos la suerte de vivir una vida plena
Love that song, it's beautiful, a masterpiece.
When you realize that dust in the wind is really all we are, you can really start to live
You do realise we are MORE then dust in the wind, our bodies yes. Our bodies have a soul which will live on FOREVER IF we give our lives to Jesus!!
