Great play through. One thing I think was wrong is that you don't lose energy when taking damage if the damage covers up a blue circle. That just prevents you getting that energy on the subsequent replenish phases.
the reaction steps can also add a new level.. ie the Vicious Midget could have stepped in towards the Friar and been in his own combat range - but it would still have cost him an energy. Great game and great play through - such a shame Will ran away with it :-)
Great battle report! Very interesting game. I was wondering what would stop one player from grabbing the moonstones and running and it looks like that is in fact a viable strategy. Wouldn't mind seeing it again with more melee.
There are also some very different scenarios, including one about a drunk walk home from the pub. But all the games do not end this way, although I did have one so ....
This game is coming in french language this month and I was looking for some videos to see how it works. You guys did a very funny game BUT ... you are slowed when you're carrying a moonstone, you can't jog 4" but only 2" ! So the retreat shouldn't be so easy. Sorry for my poor english, have a nice day :)
@@EsotericOrderGamers Perhaps I could endeavour to comment with more subtlety? Might pick Moonstone up anyway. Really like how different it all felt. Always great to hear you & Will bouncing off each other verbally. Takes me back to time spent gaming in the late 80s/early 90s with friends who I haven't seen in decades or (sadly in one case) are no longer with us. Games should always be fun and that is the strongest feeling you both so effortlessly project.

This is why I truly enjoy your Batreps, two friends playing for fun, with great banter throughout!
And entirely non-scripted! 😆
What a fun report and bunch of characters. Thanks for sharing your good times with us.
You're very welcome. 👍
I've been itching to get the game and this is by far the most fun Moonstone battle report I've seen so far! Look forward to seeing more!
They'll be more, don't worry!
Had my eye on the miniatures from this game for a while, so much character. Plus the game looks fun!
It is!

Whoops, missed that!
Loved 'tipsy cam.' Another great video, well done the two of you, definitely going to investigate this game!
It's a breath of fresh air, definitely worth playing. Glad you enjoyed the batrep Stuart! 👍
Ah what an EXCELLENT game Moonstone is! Thoroughly enjoyed that one, despite the cowardice masked as strategy.
Never apologise for winning mate! 🤣
It’s nice to see the dynamic duo together again. Should you do a patreon to move Will and his family to Auckland?
Well, I'm not in Auckland for a start! 😆
More, more more, great video guys, truly great video!
Thanks Shane, it's great to hear such enthusiasm! 👍 More is coming.
The powder monkey causing two wounds on two of his own characters had me in stitches 😂
SHOCK THE MONKEY!
Really happy to see this!
That's a wicked set up mate with the tree lava church and rocks that's something I would do I just love stuff like that 👍
It takes a while to build up a good terrain collection, but I'm getting there ...
Well done Will, you played that game brilliantly. Alas Peter, you got outplayed this time.
It often happens!
That terrain is amazing!
It's like Thom Yorke and Peter Gabriel are in the room!
I'll take either as a compliment!
@@EsotericOrderGamers its the renditions of "Creep" and "Shock the Monkey" ...
Ah of course! I thought you meant how we looked! 🤣
@@EsotericOrderGamers well you are indeed both fine specimens!
👏😆
It's called tactical retreating. Lol. Thanks so much for the content. Will have to give this one a go.
I still call it cowardice! 🤣

I know, we do have to explore that particular mechanic more!

If you're holding a moonstone your normal 'jog' action is reduced to 2". So that does slow you down a bit.

@@gasa5251 I must find that one! 👍
TREE OF WOE! (Reaper Bones - I have one too!)
A lovely added touch to any battlefield.
you are having a lot of fun there! WOW! :D
That's the idea!
Yessss, Moonstone!! Was there ever a game with such awesome (and flatulent) Goblins??
No, NEVER!
Great game. Nice to see Will is back !
A couple more BIG battle reports coming soon!

We all make mistakes! 🤣
I love the homemade cards how did you do that
I'm a professional graphic designer. They were made in Adobe inDesign.
I 'dig' this bat-rep.
I see what you did there.

I agree, competition (mostly) be damned - I game for a laugh and a good time. 👍
46:30 uWotm8?
1:01:20 Actually, if you're pushed off the board you're removed from the game.
If you want to ask me a question in English, and with some context, I'd be very happy to answer you! 🤣
@@EsotericOrderGamers I was joking. You said something sus and I made a funny about it. :)
@@Docsfortune No worries, I really was just trying to work out what you meant! 🤣
