When I was a little kid, I always saw people in war movies who went to the forest and communicated with a small box. When I learned that this communication is cw, I said that one day I will learn this too. This incident led me to radio amateur business. Thank you for making me live my childhood again. 73 Burani DL1VBO|
Very good. That's a good strong signal from LA5FH. I operated without sidetone for years on my homebrew tx/rx and my one valve 2 Watt tx. I just never got round to adding it. 73, Bill, G4GHB.
It is not easy to operate CW without sidetone. Well done. I can only read your QSO partner. Can you please explain your setup of the wire antenna and the counterpoise in the park? How far can you transmit? There is peace today so you can transmit in a park. Think about this in WW2. They would catch you. (: I have seen an old drawing with the antenna wire hanging around the four walls and the counterpoise in zig zag under the carpet in a room. This old know how I find great. All you need is a few meters of wire to be on the air. Also I was told they used the antenna wire as a clothline to hide it. Thank you. Kind Regards biro321
CW without side tone isnt so hard, Atlas 210x and 215x have no side tone at all . My first home made transciver was work without side tone too. Little practice and no problem. My Pixie is version without side tone.
Very interesting Helge. It would take me some practice time sending without aid of side tone to be assured that I am sending correctly. I had difficulty deciphering what you sent to the other operator. Definitely not a transceiver for contesting. Hi Hi 72 de Terry KB8AMZ
No, it's not easy to send without side tone. I have therefore designed an RF enabled toner generator mounted in the monitor speaker. It therefore works on all transmitters. Thanks for the comments of my video. 73 de LA6NCA
