The term ‘Assyrian’ encompasses the Chaldeans, Nestorians, Syriacs, Arameans, and more. Before 1915, between 500,000 and 600,000 Assyrians lived in the Ottoman Empire. They were persecuted due to anti-Christian hatred and to their history of seeking independence from the Empire. The genocide of the Assyrians was similar to that of the Armenians. My Canadian province, British Columbia, still suffers because of the enduring legacy of British imperialism where our aboriginal people were victimized just like the Tibetans and other subject peoples in British Empire. "History is written by the victors" - and as the British were the victorious Imperial colonizers of 1/3rd of the world in the 1700s-1800s, they wrote history according to how they want to be regarded and seen. Even the Japanese are today, re-writing their history books to disavow any of their own involvements in WW2 as has Turkiye done to pretend no involvement in the disappearance of the Armenians. So no, as long as the West remains committed to its primacy in global capitalism, violence and suppression are the only tools that can accomplish that goal. Until the workers of the West gain some class consciousness, we are doomed to continue to inflict this kind of violence to maintain our supremacy and dominance. Many in the West have never seen the reality of our imperialist exploits firsthand. We still benefit in the imperial core from the plundering of wealth from the periphery. Some are waking up and, thanks to videos like this, may one day rise up and end the reign of global capitalism that makes this kind of oppression necessary to continue the plundering of wealth for the sake of profits for the rich. Anyone travelling to Beijing China must visit the ruin of beautiful Imperial Summer Palace. The palace became a ruin because the British did it. Now the British museum has the most of China’s cultural relics in the world, a whopping number of 20,000 pieces, that doesn’t count the cultural relics still in the hands of British private collectors. The entire world, mostly in the west, has one million pieces of China’s cultural relics. They got them mostly from the illegal paths.

And remember - how are continents and countries such as North America and Australia are occupied and ruled by Anglo-Europeans today. They didn't just appear out of nowhere from the ground but originated from the English islands on the other side of the world. If India and China were not as large with a huge population that caused the invaders a case of indigestion in trying to swallow them up, it would not be surprising if the original inhabitants would not be replaced by Anglo-Europeans eventually and made the same as the U.S.A. and Australia is today

I doubt it is for such political reason, just look at Afghanistan during American occupation, and apply that condition to Tibet during British occupation.
The condition of the people is so bad, even Americans are having their hard time dealing with rebels, let alone building an outpost against China or Russia.
Another aspect not mentioned here is that the Dali Lamas were subjugating the Tibetans, using them as slaves, stealing young boys for the temples, pedophilia within the temples, requiring constant tithing that left the people in abject poverty, and were prohibited from schooling of any kind…99% were illiterate.
It was the British that created boundaries all over middle east selecting the royal families/tribe all over the world carving and dividing lands. That is their greatest contribution to the world....the death and destruction of others.

China proposed in both 1961 and 1962 that she would accept the McMahon Line in general (subject to proper delimitation) in return for India adopting the McDonald rather than the Johnson Line. So the continued disputes was brought about not by those lines but by the India's insistence that the Johnson Line was non-negotiable. If India had chosen to McDonald Line instead then there wouldn't have border issues, at least no war in 1962. You do have to read the fine points sometimes.

Nehru was reconciled to China’s takeover of Tibet but wanted it to be done peacefully by negotiating with Lhasa. Mao ended the conundrum in late 1950.
Very depressing and makes me angry about the injustices done by Europeans and America.
❤Arohamai❤ Tibet 😢
We understand what your ancestors went through! The Colonisers put my tūpuna/ancestors threw the same horrific ordeal!
❤ from AOTEAROA New Zealand! 😢😢
The Indians were the ones who did the killing of all Tibetans under the instructions of the British.
Very good summary. Thank you.
I dont think the west will change but we can join forces n protect each other
If Russia withdraws from Ukraine, China has to quit Tibet for the simple reason both were in the same situation “Occupied nations” period!
Remember there was no border between India and China before Mao’s communist occupation of Tibet in 1959. It was Indo-Tibet border. The evidence is that Indo-Tibet border police still exist in India. There is no Indo-China border police. Sorry!
Again it is machine guns versus bow, arrows and spears. But the Tibetans had not learned their lessons. Tibet under China has propered and yet still want to be manipulated by the US/CIA to gain independence. Under the huge economic umbrella of China, Tibetans stand to benefit more than before. High time these Tibetans get up and work hard instead of indulging in prayers only. Truly and sadly locking themselves in the past and expect charity from the world.
Those tibetans who part of separatist movement, majority of them live in exile though. Those who stay are mostly the ex-slaves and the descendants. And they are pro-China because they were liberated and humanised
Have you been there. Best not to rubbish the cake unless you taste it. I have spoken to people who rub ish china. I asked them have you been there. They answer no. How then can you comment. From the media.
I did not know about this part of Tibetan history.
Bayonet to Lhasa - by Peter Flaming A book written by Ian Flaming's brother talk about that too, don't miss.
Thank you for this video!
China has preserved Buddhism and now has the largest number of Buddhists in the world. Meanwhile, India, which often presents itself as a protector of Buddhism, historically suppressed it, resulting in Buddhists making up less than 1% of its population today. Tibet, under Chinese administration, has become one of the most prosperous regions in Asia, which is why Tibetans are not eager to leave, unlike Palestinians and Syrians who are fleeing Gaza and Syria.
Palestinians are not fleeing
Gaza as its border is shut 💀
Japan is a Buddhist stronghold.
As a buddhist, it's astounding for me when I learn about the fact there are close to no Buddhists in the homeland of Buddhism.
Thank you to letting this portion of the history known to all😭
If you look back into the history of most colonial countries, somehow there was a huge financial debt incurred with huge interest which that country couldn't pay back. Then the British crown paid on its behalf and the country had to be ceded over to the empire.
Please take care, what you read, check the source, ask historians. Tibet is under chinese colonial occupation. Chinese people killed 1 milion tibetans 157 burned themselves alive only 3 survived and you can imagine what life looks like. In Tibet are born 4 major rivers that bring the water to most country in central Asia. Tibetans fear more chinese
Welcome to the history of British! I’m a Malaysian, we had our fair share of being colonised by the British in the early 1900s. We’re lucky because our ancestors fought hard to shoo away these imperialists and lucky to have a patriotic PM in the 80s for his famous DAWN RAID where his team managed to bring back our farmers’ rubber plantation lands back to our government which was a HUGE SLAP to the British! Then, our PM’s BUY BRITISH LAST policy gave them another whip! I’m THANKFUL!😮
Malays fought against the British... Don't seem so according to factual history....
@ history can be altered as how they did with ours
In the 1950s, there were more than 2700 temples in Tibet, and now there are more than 3800. Please do not provide incorrect data
This was what the British did to the Tibetans? But it's all good now that they are no longer under any oppression? Thank you for exposing them this Western nations are just doing the most.
The Indians helped them and took part in the massacres.
Make some videos on Anglo-Burmese Wars also, where gold and precious stones was shamelessly looted from the Mandalay Palace.
Noted .
Thanks for making me aware of this shame.
English bar ba rians
Tibet is never part of china . Chinese illégal ocupy Tibet . But never ever be part of china . 100 percent we are not same . Save Tibet .
There's a burial ground west of Shigatze where those Chinese Qing troops who arrived in 1904 to force back the British invasion and died are buried. I also think the West should correctly calls mountain Qomalangma it's rightful name, not that of a pathetic colonial surveyor Everest
Dalai lama very very quiey on this ...ah... He's been bought by cia long time ago
Invasion based on a non-existent threat. Where have I heard that before?
