I think this game has the potential to be very good. It just needs more plants, and it also needs the selection of plants, but overall, it's pretty good. I don't really hate this game since it's newly launched, so there's more time to improve.
It's honestly a really weird play to turn the instant into boosts, but considering they were definitely the strongest in PvZ2, we'll just see if it works out.
Honestly, I think PVZ3’s overall plant selection is….ok, at best. The big problem obviously is that it’s just way too small, and we only have TWO new plants so far. I’m pretty sure people would take new plants instead of bringing Plantern and Umbrella Leaf back after all. Besides, the original version had a shit ton of new plants, so whose to say this game won’t have a ton soon either? As for some returning plants I want back, Potato Mine is a must have for PVZ3. Considering Squash can be used in normal levels, it’s easy to see Potato Mine returning full time, and not just being relegated to a power up like Cherry Bomb and Jalapeño, who at least make sense as power ups given their immediate use. Other plants I want to see return include - Scaredy Shroom - Doom Shroom (as a power up) - Kernel and Melon Pult - Fume Shroom - Twin Sunflower - Bloomerang - Maybe some plants from PVZ Heroes (I think the original PVZ3 had some) - Guacodile - Phat Beet - Cactus (just so we can reunite the OG Garden Warfare crew) - And a lot of others
I think my biggest problem is there is a big lack in variety. Out of the plants that we’ve seen including the ones in the files, not ONE of them is a new plant. They’ve all been in a previous game one way or another. This also applies to the zombies for the most part having only 2 new original zombies.
PvZ1 - 50 levels, 40 plants unlocked PvZ2 - 312 levels, 69 plants unlocked (nice) PVZ3 - 150 levels, 12 plants...and you can't even choose which ones you want. Are you JOKING KIDDING ME, POPCAP?! The entire genre of PvZ - a strategy game - is about carefully considering the zombies, gimmicks and objectives, then building a strategy to beat the horde! ESPECIALLY when you're facing a later Reflourished level, an AltVerZ EX level, or even beating the veteran quests without premiums or leveling! By giving us so little plants to work with, you're not only robbing us of the joy of playing around with a new toy, mixing and matching decks for that plant, but also the satisfaction of beating an extra-hard wave YOUR WAY. Hell, there's not even an ALMANAC to look at exact stats or funny little flavor text! This ISN'T Plants vs. Zombies. This is a glorified tutorial for a game we'll likely never see. It's honestly pretty sad that we finally see what appears to be the franchise's true downfall. Not at PvZ2 like some believed, but at PvZ3. We need some miracles if the franchise can recover, and now more than ever, we need them, for the sake of Bananasaurus Rex.
The game's artstyle is very charming, but onced you've gotten the urge to play the game for like 1hr, you'll realize quickly that it's far from a good game..
I think that most of the plants and zombies look alright but the garg looks so terrible like he is mostly skinny for no reason and he looks like he's standing in between lanes rather than just being in one lane. It just doesn't look like a garg compared to the first two games.
I love the return of pigeon feeder and lightning reed. Gives me hope that other characters from the original pvz3 will make a return. I would love to see the Shakespeare and jackhammer zombies make a return. I would also like to see gameplay mechanics like the team selection and over world map from the 2020 version make a return. I can’t wait till this comes out😁
Not really, he costs the same as peashooter. If the damage remained the same, it would be equivalent to 175 sun in pvz1, which is worth 7 sun in pvz3 (since every sun is worth 25 sun).
@@JustAnotherCommenter that doesn't make a lick of sense. With the reduced damage, even with the zombie slowed, they end up making it farther than with a peashooter. if the damage wasn't nerfed it would be a direct upgrade from the previous games with the sun cost being lowered
@@JustAnotherCommenter I think they should let people choose their seed packets (But for the conversation, they should restore his damage to... this games pea damage)
I don’t hate this game, but I wish that you could choose your own plants, and they would improve some of the animations (like the eating animation for the zombies)
Not terribly surprised that PVZ continues its time honored tradition of under-delivering, disappointing in spite of near nonexistent expectations, and validating every other awful EA stereotype. I can only hope this series is redeemed sometime in the future, but it's obvious that day is neither today nor anytime soon.
I know many people will disagree, but I think the artstyle looks genuinely worse than the original pvz. It has lost all charm it once had and is over-animated.
This game has a lot of potencial, l think that the main problem is taking pvz's essence (selecting plants for example, which makes the game more versatile and fun) But there's some great ideas in this game and the fact that they're bringing plants from the first game that they couldn't give a use in the second game makes it more exciting
The 3D art is literally only because 2D animators have a union whilst 3D ones don’t. Popcap needs to be confronted about their awful and malicious business practices. They also outsource most of their development to cheap overseas studios now in order to save money and increase efficiency with workers in awful conditions, instead of just paying local and far superior devs the actual money they deserve. I do like that Umbrella leaf is back tho.
They should make when you try to drag and drop the seedpack they shouw you the range of the attack and the fighting type.. Could be melee, magic, projectile or piercing type or support like sunflower..
Fun fact: Lighting Reed, Chomper, and Puff Shroom were in one of the oldest versions of Pvz3 (I think that version looked the best with the 3D models) Speaking of, Sun Shroom was scrapped in said version
I think one of the most interesting observations is that snow pea and peashooter cost the exact same, meaning snow pea is a straight upgrade in all scenarios (assumedly) than peashooter. They can get away with not balancing the plants around eachother, because you will never have to choose between peashooter and snow pea since you literally cannot choose. That, combined with the necessity of powers that cost coins shows that they really do not care about the actual quality of the game, and rather that they push out a new PVZ games I want to believe they’ll change the game and fix it to be more like fans want, but I cannot fathom them ever believing fans would want this. Hell even the 1 sun system is insane considering the outrage caused by tomb tangler costing 40 made them change it to cost 50, I don’t understand why they would then make a change that clearly nobody wants. This game is such a strange strange case
I kinda like the garden scapes part of the game 💀 I know its what people despise the most but its somehow not as bad as i thought it would be. I mean yeah its juet choosing between 3 jpegs but the designs have some neat details and the art style just looks so adorable-
@@thegoldenstation9723 i like to think that the gamedev budget went down, but not the creative team's budget. i actually like that they introduced a story and the new art style, but the approach to doing the story ala gardenscapes is just 🤢

Popcap knew what they were doing with the launch to just be released on those few countries I know for a fact that atleast half of those countries has the biggest gardenscape playerbase No wonder it was able to get top 1 in a category in appstore at some point This art style does indeed get the attention of some candy crush player
They removed how Quash does a cannonball jump on water now he just stays on top of it and tangle kelp, it usually 'tangles'the zombie and drag them underwater

Out of every possible Plants they could've chose from the first 2 games and even spin offs to add to this already very limited pool, they chose... umbrella leaf, the single most forgettable and useless (in this game) plant after Gold Magnet.
I like how they made umbrella leaf work, but the game still has alot of flaws. Also I'm in Australia but Idk where to get the game (I'm guessing the device I tried is too old to even get the game or something so I'll try a different device.)
I haven’t played the game, but just from what I’ve seen, I actually don’t hate it in concept. It looks like it’s supposed to be a candy crush like game with a ton of short levels but with PvZ gameplay, which is a cool idea. I actually like the idea of not choosing your plants in theory (so you can’t just spam the strongest plants in every level ala PvZ 2), though maybe they should have levels where you can, and I think some of these plants (umbrella leaf, tangle kelp, and lightning reed in particular) actually look like they may have a pretty cool role in the game. I hope popcap listens to what the playtesters are saying to balance/flesh out the game more and actually give it some soul (some of these designs look terrible), but I also kinda hope they stick with some of the more unique ideas compared to 1 and 2, and just make them actually good.
So what was the point of the trailer clip from the last version of the beta? Chomper and the lychee plant weren’t added, along with bungee and landscaper zombie.
Boy oh boy, this sure is Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia I want to like this game so badly, and I for some parts, I do! But it really feels like Popcap doesn’t care anymore. They’ve listened to literally none of our feedback- This may as well just be the last version of PvZ3 with 100 more levels! It’s so frustrating to be a fan of this franchise, yet we stay. I hope that this series gets some love soon. It desperately needs it.
Since I hate pretty much every single aspect of this game, I'm better off just listing the things I like: -The variety in lawns, switching up gimmicks from level to level, instead of playing en entire world with the same lawn gimmick. -Sunflower's animations I wanted to place 3 items on the list, but I was already scraping the bottom of the barrel with Sunflower's animation
I am on level 119 and somehow survived the night levels... I was raging because they didn't give me time to plant at least 5 sunflowers... and they keep spawning imps and zombies too early... 🤧 and sometimes the picked plants are just expensive like Bamboo Shoots and/or Lightning Reed... and the levels are too fast as well as the waves/flags like I'm always low on sun... but 3/5 stars. It's okay. It just needs some adjustments
Something That Makes Me Mad Is The Fact That Every Sun Only Counts As 1 It Kinda Makes Since, But Still, I Think It Should Be How It Is In The First 2 Games
this just isn't a mainline pvz game lmao. pvz1 is a timeless, extremely solid game that happens to be a free mobile game. pvz2 is a little more mobile gamey with all the microtransactions, but is still a very solid, fun game and a reasonable upgrade from the original. pvz3 is a typical boring free mobile game that has the skin of a pvz game vaguely stretched over parts of it
I wish the plants did a tad more damage as i think most of them are pitifully weak. I think removing plant food was a great idea. I wish peashooters costed one less so that starts would be a tad easier on later levels. Bamboo shoot definitely needs buffing as i feel he is the worst overall. Overall i dont hate this game and it definitely has the potential to become something amazing. EA just needs to put some more time in it. I really hope this game doesnt turn into bfn where they drop support fast.

Without using any boosts (except the times when we're forced to use one), I have progressed to level 116 without much difficulty. However, level 116 is so hard and it seems impossible to beat without using boosts
I love the game, just not the lack of picking plants and the weird difficulty scaling (also the power ups and everything is a bit weird but even that can slide)
So the plants are Peashooter Sunflower Walnut Bamboo shoot Squash Bonk choy Lightning reed Lily pad Tangle kelp Snow pea Umbrella leaf. Leaked plants are Chilli bean Puff shroom Sun shroom Plantern Chomper Weird ice thing that might be ice shroom or ice bloom
I do also hope they add plant food and even the taco power up from the first iteration of PvZ 3(and everything else KoalaOM already suggested). And please more plants! It’s so sad how little plants have been shown off which is one of the best part of PvZ!! I love suggesting things for this game but I feel like time after time nothing changes… it feels like we are suggesting things to a brick wall because we’ve asked for choosable seed packets foreeveerrr and they just don’t do it or even respond to it and I feel like no one really cared about the homescapes side to the game and they’ve just doubled down on it. - Bloomerang
- Maybe some plants from PVZ Heroes (I think the original PVZ3 had some)
- Guacodile
- Phat Beet
- Cactus (just so we can reunite the OG Garden Warfare crew)
- And a lot of others
I think my biggest problem is there is a big lack in variety.
Out of the plants that we’ve seen including the ones in the files, not ONE of them is a new plant. They’ve all been in a previous game one way or another. This also applies to the zombies for the most part having only 2 new original zombies.
I actually really like the plants' designs. Sunflower looks so cheerful and animated.
PvZ1 - 50 levels, 40 plants unlocked
PvZ2 - 312 levels, 69 plants unlocked (nice)
PVZ3 - 150 levels, 12 plants...and you can't even choose which ones you want.
TL ; DR pls
~8 years to work on this btw.
(Pvz 2 essentially ended when modern day came out.)
The new gardenscapes looks sick 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
God a peashooter needs to shoot 14 times to kill a basic instead of 10... It just not felt right.
I think the firerate got a buff so thats why
7:22 Thats actually a very neat animation, hope I would see more of those, huh.
I can’t wait till this comes out😁
3:09 Yo WHAT?! They added Umbrella Leaf in this game but won't add it to PVZ2?! Where it's most USEFUL?! What are they thinking?!
I don't think that Umbrella Leaf is really useful in PVZ2
Like, for pirates or treasure hunters, but we already had Draftodil.
لم يضيفوها لسبب رئيسي ومهم وهو لانك لن تحتاجها في pvz2
@@Magne_Sium Counterpoint, Octopus Zombie.
They made snow pea cheaper, THEN HALFED HIS DAMAGE TO WHERE HE'S LESS EFFECTIVE THAN PEASHOOTER
They looked at Reseeded, decided "oh damn thats a great idea!" And nerfed my boi ;-;
@@scribbleslol1566 hmm, weird how that works. they should've made the slowness more effective then.
@@JustAnotherCommenter I think they should let people choose their seed packets
(But for the conversation, they should restore his damage to... this games pea damage)
It takes 14 peas to defeat a basic. For reference, it took 10 shots in 1 and 2
Pvz 1: the start of everything
Pvz 2: new plants, new zombies and new maps
Pvz 3: zombies with hair
Despite all the issues with pvz 3, I like the fact they at least nailed to gave more personality to all characters even plants
I don’t hate this game, but I wish that you could choose your own plants, and they would improve some of the animations (like the eating animation for the zombies)
Cabbage Pult might be the first I actually liked this artstyle over PvZ 2
Edit: PvZ 3 Puff-Shroom is adorable
Feels like a fangame thats in beta and assuming its already enough as it is
I think bonk choy looks terrible, it doesn't even fit in with the other plants' art styles!
It’s not that bad combared to squash
I like both of them

0:42 Wall-nut

Many of the design looked weird. The sunflower is cute though. But BIG improvement from the last version.
The peashooter killing zombies in 14 hits instead of the normal 10 is a deadly sin
Looks like 2000s rayman quality
7:36 imp has fun eating animation 😂😂😂
Not terribly surprised that PVZ continues its time honored tradition of under-delivering, disappointing in spite of near nonexistent expectations, and validating every other awful EA stereotype. I can only hope this series is redeemed sometime in the future, but it's obvious that day is neither today nor anytime soon.
I know many people will disagree, but I think the artstyle looks genuinely worse than the original pvz. It has lost all charm it once had and is over-animated.
What do you mean people will disagree?
I mean, i kinda like the pvz 3 style. It looks super cute! It's the only thing i like about this game @user-oy3zq1uz1j
This game has a lot of potencial, l think that the main problem is taking pvz's essence (selecting plants for example, which makes the game more versatile and fun)
But there's some great ideas in this game and the fact that they're bringing plants from the first game that they couldn't give a use in the second game makes it more exciting
I would love it if they made it like a FB PvZ Adventure Style
They should make when you try to drag and drop the seedpack they shouw you the range of the attack and the fighting type.. Could be melee, magic, projectile or piercing type or support like sunflower..
Fun fact: Lighting Reed, Chomper, and Puff Shroom were in one of the oldest versions of Pvz3 (I think that version looked the best with the 3D models)
Speaking of, Sun Shroom was scrapped in said version
The design isn’t so bad, sometimes the gameplay gets boring as you progress through later levels
I kinda like the garden scapes part of the game 💀
I know its what people despise the most but its somehow not as bad as i thought it would be.
I mean yeah its juet choosing between 3 jpegs but the designs have some neat details and the art style just looks so adorable-
Is this even any different than the last Soft-Launch?
There are now 150+ levels, the story/garden building thing is a lot more fleshed out and there is some (not much) new content gameplay-wise.
@@koalapvz someone at Popcop really wanted to get their PvZ fanfic out to the public
@@thegoldenstation9723 i like to think that the gamedev budget went down, but not the creative team's budget. i actually like that they introduced a story and the new art style, but the approach to doing the story ala gardenscapes is just 🤢
Did they really made snow pea cost the same as peashoter?
It has half the dmg
i fear for when premium plants come from pvz2 to pvz3 due to the fact a lot of them were built around the 50 sun meta.
How are pvz3 supposed to add premium plants when you can’t choose ur own plants🫠
@@scphj7745 WAIT YOU CANT WHAT THE FUCK
@@scphj7745 oh
i think buckets and cones are more of armor since there are 2 types of zombies (one of which has hair and seems like they are tougher), both of em can use cones and buckets and of that can use duckytubes
2×3×2=12
wow that's a lot of variants for a zombie
Popcap knew what they were doing with the launch to just be released on those few countries
I know for a fact that atleast half of those countries has the biggest gardenscape playerbase
No wonder it was able to get top 1 in a category in appstore at some point
This art style does indeed get the attention of some candy crush player
1:22 look how they massacred my boy 😢
I think if this was not pvz3 but its own thing like pvz hero, ppl wouldnt hate it that much
How is there less plants in this game than the first game after a year of it being in beta ..................
It is still in beta version
They removed how Quash does a cannonball jump on water now he just stays on top of it and tangle kelp, it usually 'tangles'the zombie and drag them underwater
Hot take: i actually like the ice jalapeno, jalapeno and cherry bomb being power ups, cuz pvz2 and even pvz1 actually were way easy to play with just insta plants spam
It's looks like
some 5y old kid's sketch book
Para quien mas crees que esta dirigido el juego? Para lo viejos?😂
@@captainpointless3848The only thing they did was make them more cartoonish.
@@captainpointless3848su base principal?
Out of every possible Plants they could've chose from the first 2 games and even spin offs to add to this already very limited pool, they chose... umbrella leaf, the single most forgettable and useless (in this game) plant after Gold Magnet.
At least they gave it durability so you have to keep using the seed packet
I like how they made umbrella leaf work, but the game still has alot of flaws. Also I'm in Australia but Idk where to get the game (I'm guessing the device I tried is too old to even get the game or something so I'll try a different device.)
That aint peashooter thats PissShooter
I remember playing the beta until the end of the stage, but now since its finally released i can finally have full gameplay
No matter what you tell me, this game isn’t pvz3. It’s a spin off and you can’t change my mind
Peashooters peas sound like basketballs when they hit the zombies
It's quite disappointing when lawn mower has one only ??
So what was the point of the trailer clip from the last version of the beta? Chomper and the lychee plant weren’t added, along with bungee and landscaper zombie.
Boy oh boy, this sure is Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia
I want to like this game so badly, and I for some parts, I do!
4:47 Bro wth is this 😭💀
Since I hate pretty much every single aspect of this game, I'm better off just listing the things I like:
-The variety in lawns, switching up gimmicks from level to level, instead of playing en entire world with the same lawn gimmick.
-Sunflower's animations
I wanted to place 3 items on the list, but I was already scraping the bottom of the barrel with Sunflower's animation
I wish they added not only the classic pvz plants, but also the other pvz2 plants.
PVZ 1 : 🤩
PVZ 2 : 🖕💶
PVZ 3 : 😐?
So no new plants? That’s a bummer, Also the only new noticeable thing they added were female zombies!
They should bring back Aspearagus
They should bring back bee shooter
The art style is so cute :)
3:50 it’s my favourite boy chomper
Squash looks like Stan Smith from American Dad
This game may be really really bad but PLANTERN IS BACK LETS FUCKING GO
I don't like the fact that we can't play a level that we like multiple times 😢.
I really like the newer water levels, but they ware so short.
What I’m really curious about is how sun shroom works. Also, gargantuar skips leg day
more than 100+ levels I think this is gonna be the next Candy Saga
It's nice to see Plantern return to a new game, I have hopes they will make him useful
this just isn't a mainline pvz game lmao. pvz1 is a timeless, extremely solid game that happens to be a free mobile game. pvz2 is a little more mobile gamey with all the microtransactions, but is still a very solid, fun game and a reasonable upgrade from the original. pvz3 is a typical boring free mobile game that has the skin of a pvz game vaguely stretched over parts of it
Honestly this gameplay looks good, and if we get rid of the overworld and expand the gameplay then this game is perfect.
How snow pea can be same price as peashooter
Lower damage than a regular Peashooter
those plants atleast half of them were in the old beta from last year thats why they are their
...How are they gonna be able to introduce Sun shroom with the meta they choose?
I wish the plants did a tad more damage as i think most of them are pitifully weak. I think removing plant food was a great idea. I wish peashooters costed one less so that starts would be a tad easier on later levels. Bamboo shoot definitely needs buffing as i feel he is the worst overall. Overall i dont hate this game and it definitely has the potential to become something amazing. EA just needs to put some more time in it. I really hope this game doesnt turn into bfn where they drop support fast.
PvZ 1: look at this new zombie. Strange guy, isn’t it. And its almanac entry is entirely blank. You did get that new plant last level though, maybe use it to counter it!
PvZ 2: Dave: [Crazy nonsense about a new zombie]
Penny: that would be [zombie name], thankfully we have [plant name] to counter it
Dave: well alright then [some Dave nonsense]
PvZ 3: here’s a tutorial on the Peashooter, and here’s for Sunflower, and Imp, and Gargs, and Cherry Bombs, and- what do you mean you don’t like tutorials every other level?
Look How They Massacred My Boy😢
Without using any boosts (except the times when we're forced to use one), I have progressed to level 116 without much difficulty. However, level 116 is so hard and it seems impossible to beat without using boosts
I love the game, just not the lack of picking plants and the weird difficulty scaling (also the power ups and everything is a bit weird but even that can slide)

It’s just sad to see how everyone wants this game to succeed but how the devs don’t care enough about their player base to at least have a conversation about changes.
