Hello friend, can you help me, you have more experience, so I produce these long wallets with sheridan floral designs, same as you do, what kind of leather, and what thickness is more advisable to work, to carve, I I'm starting to make some of these wallets to sell and I'm not even aware of the material you use. thank you (Brazil google translate)

Hi, I mostly use 2 - 2.4mm thick leather on projects I plan to carve and tool. It's also important to mention that not all tanned leathers tool the same. When I work on a project with a lot of tooling I prefer to use a flourentine (Italian) leather. It's more expensive, but produces better results and doesn't cause the leather to stretch or warp from the tooling like some cheaper leathers do. Regardless when I buy leather I like to visit my supplier and examine the leather and ask related questions to make sure I get the right leather for the job.

+Fischer Workshops As in my region does not have this leather Florentine, only has only models of leather, Soleta, vaqueta, laced. Which of these would be the best option, and a standard thickness, to be always buying and producing several long wallet floral sheridan? And thank you for sharing the details. His work opened up several ideas for me.

The only leather suitable for carving and tooling is vegetable tanned leather. I always use unfinished tanned leather and then after tooling apply colors, dye, or stain.

I've seen the brand I use for sale on Amazon under, (Saunders UHU Contact Cement Stick). Although it's priced pretty high. I pay about $4-5 USD per stick. I would shop around and see what is available online...

What kind of cement glue in stick you use?

Michał Kucharski Hi, it's called UHU contact cement. It's less messy and cleans up nicely. Since its a stick its also easy to control the amount you want to apply to the leather.

Saulo Hernandez Hi, a lot depends on what I'm working on. I'm currently editing 2 large videos for bags which takes much longer to prep. Hopefully my next video will be published by this coming Saturday. Thanks for watching!😀

Shame on you. You are demeaning your craft by using crocodile skin.
