i only discovered John Moriarty this week - August 2022. He will now be my companion for the rest of my days. A beautiful, open, inspiring soul.
A wonderful discovery. We all need spiritual teachers who continue to challenge us in the very best ways like john does.
As a funeral chaplain and theology/philosophy graduate no one has influenced me spiritually more than Moriarty. But more, intellectually I would place him 'up there' with many of the great philosophers. A much neglected thinker, mystic, poet and philosopher.
What a great choice of setting for this homage.

I am not a religious man but Moriarty is the closest I can think of to an authentic saint. His writing can seem impenetrable but if you relax your mind and allow it to soak in gently, without worrying about 'getting it;, it is very rewarding.

That is sad for you… Maybe your time was simply not up, old chap. For when you really die there will be Light for you, God willing.
