I've been hugely into Pokemon glitches for as long as I can remember and I'm also a sucker for iceberg videos. I was even active on Glitch City Labs and helped out on researching and documenting some minor obscure glitches. (Although I'm not sure if any of the ones I contributed to are on this iceberg on the later tiers.) So thank you for bringing so much satisfaction to me with this video, I am very excited for the next part!

Damn, this video has the feel and quality of a channel with atleast 200k subs! Some of the coding mistakes for early gen pokemon are pretty interesting/hilarious, you dont need to know much at all to understand how it works
I'm guessing the "65000 different decamarks" is because they used a 16-bit index for the list of Pokemon, meaning that there are 2^16 = 65,536 possible slots for Pokemon. Since there are only 386 actual Pokemon in the gen 3 games, the other 65,150 slots give you a Decamark if you try to use them
1: The Cute Charm can increase shiny odds, but most of the time it actually lowers them, meaning that in gen 4 only if you want to shiny hunt, you shouldn't ever lead with a Cute Charm Pokemon unless you have the more well known 1/5 ish odds. 2: the eShop is closed, but if you purchased anything on it you can still redownload it if needed allegedly. More importantly, I can confirm that any games that have updates can actually still be downloaded even if you hadn't downloaded them prior. Unfortunately this isn't a permanent thing, but this is being written at 4:33AM on July 5th 2024, so if it's been like 3+ months I'd do some research (or try downloading the update when prompted) on if it's still possible
Acid rain is one of my favorite glitches!!! My other favorite is the one in Japanese black and white, where, in a double battle with cheren against team plasma, if your pokemon all faint but cheren beats the battle, you can walk around with all fainted pokemon, deposit it in the daycare, and have no pokemon in your party!

omg this video is so cool!!! ive always been suuper interested in glitches in games, and pokemon pearl was also the first game I had as a kid. Ive been looking at the development of the genIV glitching scene (battlecorruption, ASE, ACE, more recently RCE) and i even made likely the first guide of how to get darkrai thru the event in the spanish version of diamond (thanks to RETIRE and other cool people from Voidmatrix).
I did the void glitch in Pearl and caught Darkrai but after I saved and quit when i reloaded my game i was stuck behind the Pokémon Center counter and had to reset my save lol
I haven't finished the vid yet but I'm wondering if you mention the glitch trainer. I've never seen anyone talk about it yet but it's a trainer that spawns when you surf up and down the east coast of cinnabar island after using the old man glitch and surfing up and down the coast at seafoam island (like the item duplication glitch). The trainer had a sprite of a scientist and various missingnos, normal ones and one with a Nidorino (not nidoran) sprite and their stats were so broken they had attack priority and killed all my pokemon in one hit. I tried to make it happen again but could never make it happen

I've been watching Pokemon since the Johto saga and playing Pokemon since Ruby & Sapphire. This is gonna be a fun ride.
