This has to be the most influential and well presented IF23 review I've seen on RUclips! 🔦👍
I bought this light more than a month ago and liked the fact that both the primary and COB side light can be illuminated simultaneously. The newer IF24 may have fancier RGB light modes but can't illuminate both front and side lights at the same time. I like the flexibility of the IF23 and even used an 18650 cell with an inner sleeve tube temporarily before I bought a new 21700 cell for it! 😀
I think the reason the IF24 series can't light up both the primary and secondary lights is because they use the smaller capacity 18650 cell and Sofirn probably decided that to ensure the IF24 has a longer runtime and lower operating temperature.

Great light, very versatile. 1 wish would be a physical switch from side light to front light. UI is a bit of a pain.

Would be pretty cool if the COB RGB had the ability to cycle colors continuously (standalone mode)

I got this a few weeks ago and I love it. It got stuck on with with the rgb colours but on the instructions there's is a fix for it.
Also if you want to completely lock it just do a quarter turn on the battery cap.

I dont know how much I trust the flappy rubber cover for the usb c as far as water proofing goes. I get they have to give you a way to charge the light and other devices as a neat feature. And im not a huge fan of proprietary chargers ie olight magnetic charging but that does improve the water proof aspect. Another concern is the directions say when not in use to remove the battery? Have you have any issues with a parasitic drain when the light is off? Good vid!

For the phone charging can you use usbc to lightning?

Just got this light and love it but is the power button meant to light up when it's charging because mine doesn't.

Interesting light. I prefer my NEBO pal+ different set of features. Plus the pal+ is a handful, to big for a pocket clip, so it stays at home.

What a great idea other than a garbage UI and a cover for the USB C.
Olight should do this light basically.

They really need more buttons on this thing. At least one button for the side light and one for the main.

It says on turbo mode it's only supposed to last 2 hours and it lasted 7 damn that's pretty good!!👍👍

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  7 месяцев назад +1

There was 7 hours of usable light from turbo. That means that it started off in the turbo mode but then slowly ramped down over the course of 7 hours, not that the turbo mode lasted 7 hours.

Two bad about the leak. Not saying this had anything to do with the issue here, but I wish more manufacturers that use a port such as USB C would seal the port so that the cover, if any, is just to keep it clear. In any event the Sofirn IF23 would make a nice powerbank with good included flashlight. I could not tell from the emitter information what CCT it has.
I generally only use my Thrunite emergency light as a powerbank with its best feauture being the multi-plug cord. I use my Olight Marauder 2 as a powerbank around 40% and as a flashlight around 60%, so it is good they included a built-in flashlight. LOL. I saw a review of a Fenix flashlight that looked like it made a good powerbank. If Olight would enable their charging cases as powerbanks I would like that....especially if they would charge the Baton 3 AND Perun 2 Mini right angle light.

Sofrin has a history of questionable quality and vastly over stating the lumens.
