- Join us as we ride through the SE portion of the Ocala National Forest (ONF) with the Florida Trail Stompers. The Ocala National Forest covers 607 square miles and was proclaimed as the first National Forest east of the Mississippi in the continental United States in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. The ONF protects the world's largest contiguous sand pine scrub forest.
Despite its high, dry, central scrub ridges, the Ocala National Forest is rich in water resources with more than 600 lakes, rivers and springs.
Four major natural springs of crystal clear water can be enjoyed at the popular recreation areas of Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Alexander Springs and Silver Glen Springs.

That white Jeep got stuck because it’s a mall crawler. 🤣 great video!
He probably should’ve stopped after the first try. Thank you for the compliment.

Thanks for watching.
Great video work! Don is the best!
Thanks and I agree, he is.
Where in ONF is the water at? And what was your point of entry?
The Paisley side has some areas with water. It can be very wet to very dry depending on the time of year. We entered on FR 61-1.2 from Jim Slatter Ln. We will be releasing another video from the same area in a week or two where it was wetter. This is the link to the Gaia Maps route for this ride.
