I decided to put 5/8" on my little custom home in Buckeye a couple of weeks ago. The minimal additional cost made the decision a no brainer. I had concluded to use it for the same reasons you listed. Thanks for the confirmation!

How do you deal with the door jambs/casing that are typically made for walls with 1/2” drywall?
Extension jams or just order the stuff made for 5/⁸
