My thoughts: #1 Never fly with flip flops. You might want good shoes if you go down and have to walk a few miles for help.. #2 Good that your getting an autopilot. I wouldn't recommend anyone fly hard IFR without one as a back up. At least a wing leveler. Spacial disorientation can be very debilitating. When I flew my first long hard IFR from S. Dakota to Iowa, I was so intent on staying on course and at altitude, I forgot I had one! #3 Stay away from thunderstorms. If I heard ATIS with thunderstorms (ie: lightning), I'd be taxing back to the hanger. There are two things you never mess with in a light airplane; thunderstorms or icing. Either one will kill you. You did the right thing staying out of the build ups. As a side note, what was that music!!? Very cool!!
Exactly don't fly in slides. So cringe. He's a rookie and will learn the hard way
that is a really nice upgrade
That was really cool!
Really enjoyed that Tom. Your current journey is really taking big steps and I know it will be so worth it. You'll laugh at my last video comparing IMC conditions, but mine was just as brief. Keep the content coming.
Great video thanks for sharing, I really like that plane too. Currently working on my IFR and am looking at getting a Mooney of my own.
I am 25 miles away from KEYF. Growing airport with a neat winery nearby on the adjacent property.
Hey Tom. New to the channel. Just bought a M20J! Pick it up in September. Working on transition from 172/182 so similar journey as you. Love the panel in your new plane. Wanting to do something very similar…dual G5’s, 750xi, GFC500. Keep posting! Cheers!
Thanks for the support and the feedback. Blue skies!
Have missed your videos, great content always! 😊
Great video as usual! Can't wait to hear the story in the next upload
Nice content. I had a M20F is and your E reminds me of my great Mooney experiences. I put over 1000 hours on my bird and loved every minute, even though i scared myself a few times. The good thing is I learned for those times. Keep flying safe.
Cool man, I remember my first IMC solo flight well! Good Job.
Hey buddy, loved your content in the past, but as a strict paramotor addict, think it’s time I go. I hope you the best in you aviation endeavors, and I hope we PPG together someday! Until then and beyond, safe landings fellow bird! Much love!
Will you be at OSH this year for EAA Airventure?
I was a fan until I saw you flying in slides. Come on, unsubbed
